Title: Afternoon At Sainsbury's
Post by: Summicron on March 18, 2010, 07:10:27 PM
Bolton bus was in when I got to the circus, so I got on it, didn't really know what to do with myself this afternoon, so I went on Bolton market, and got some beautiful navel oranges, almost suggary sweet, mmmmm! Wanted some rump steak, hadn't enough cash with me for much else so I decided as there were no cash machines in the market I went over to Sainsbury's supermarket, and kill three birds with one stone, first got some cash, got myself a Blackpool milk roll, thats bread, bottle of milk, then went outside to do something I've been meaning to do for sometime, photograph the entrance to Sainsbury's, I wanted the shots to upload to my Sainsbury's collection on Flickr. The first shot was taken just after I got my cash from the machine, I just liked the weight of the wall and windows in shadow set against the red brick wall of the supermarket.

This is what I really went to see, this wonderful curl of the entrance roof joist,

But it doesn't end there, the joist continues on in this most delicious waviness, it wasn't a very bright afternoon so I did the best I could to get just the shape snaking across the picture frame.

As I say, it wasn't a particularly bright afternoon so I decided on a straight on shot of the entrance foyer, a few lights some people in the shot to give it a bit of colour and some life. Then I began the long stagger back to the market, got my T bone, good price too, butcher said try the darker slices, and you know he was right, they were tender, and mouthwateringly tasty, with a couple of eggs and a few chips, I was ready for it when I got home, and the oranges for afters were just right, not a bad afternoon. You know when you start talking to your walking stick, things are pretty bad, its even worse when it answers you back. And when you get into conversation with the thing, you really know you've lost the plot completely.

Oh and if your reading this Judy, to post your picture just click open Aditional Option in the reply tab, then you go down to browse, helps a lot if you know where your picture is on the disk, where you've stored it, click on the picture file then on open, it will show in the attach box, then just click on post, and it will automatically appear with your reply.

When the file to upload menu comes up, it sometimes helps to click on the, view menu icon on the end of the row then click on thumbnails at the top of the list, you can see the files as tiny pictures.

I think this is what you were asking me. You can only do it from your computer.

What a wonderful series of pictures of the Sainsbury facility.  Such an unusual roof line!

Glad you had your walking stick along for an interesting conversation!

Wow, that's an awesome roof! And just out of curiosity, what did your walking stick have to say?

Actually we had an argument, I threw it across the car park, it picked itself up came back and hit me round the back of the head.
