This unusual building resides in Manchester, I thought I'd discovered it, but no, someone told me, all the photography students from university flock round to this building to photograph it, the picture was taken from the platform of Deansgate railway station towards dusk, the spaceship like tower reflecting the setting sun.

Marilyn, photography seems to be the only way I can express myself in any sort of meaningful way, I'm no preacher of the word, although I get deep meaningful things from the bible, so I photograph and sometimes write, that's why I'm posting so much at the moment. I was just over in thoughts for the week, and read you've found a man friend, that could turn to being a romance, hope so, and that you will be blessed in that way, I'm ever so pleased, God said, it was not good for man to be alone, and I'm sure that applies to woman also, God bless, Michael.

WOW!  That building is screaming to be photographed at night and low light situations.

It might be screaming to be photographed at night, but it looks deserted after dark, no lights on in the place whatsoever, I was round there last Tuesday, photographing between Oxford road station and Castlefield basin (where Coronation Street is filmed) along the canal, and returning to Oxford road as it was going dark I went and had a look at the building and the place was all in darkness. I actually went there because of your comments on my picture to see if what you said was right, but no luck. Manchester is going through a building boom, and you could literally spend months photographing the different angles and shapes of the new buildings, the buildings may not be very tall apart from one 600ft skyscraper, and two more to follow, but on a bright day you can find lots of things to shoot. Try going to flickr, and typing Beetham tower in, photographers must be like wasps round a picnic there and thats only the ones with pictures on flickr.

I would probably still try to get some low light photos - maybe just after the sunset.  Looking for a deep blue sky and some reflections of existing light in the buildings glass.

Very interesting building!  The round part looks like a Kansas grain silo!  Lovely colors, too.
