I live in the American Midwest, where downtowns tend to be dusty and slightly run-down....with the notable exception of courthouses. Almost always well-built and nicely maintained, it seems.

Wouldn't that be a wonderful old building to go exploring in.....when there are no courts in session.
You have done a great job of giving a feel for the day and the building. Looks like the sun is just coming out after a storm. Dark clouds but bright blue sky.
My favorite kind of sky, Judy. It makes all the colors pop. Yes, it WOULD be fun to wander around there after hours. Wonder what kind of antiques are just sitting around in the attic.
Yea tell me about it!... My daughter would ask some questions about the sky then tell you what weather you were getting! she loves analyzing the weather.
What a great sky!
Sometimes the sky is too bright but this is just lovely!
Really nice building!
[angry rant]Sad to say, most courthouses won't let anyone in with a camera. You know, I just might be a terrorist, casing the place. All that is just an excuse for people who don't want anyone to see what they are doing. It's infuriating to think that we own the post office, and yet we aren't allowed to take a picture in one. No law says so, just some bureaucrat's decision.[/angry rant]
Whew. That is a really nice composition with the red tree, and the tower and sky as it is.
But I'd love to see more of the building, if you had anything else.
Wonderful old building. If the walls could talk, what stories they could tell! :D
Oooh, those trees balance that old building ever so well, the red of the left hand tree almost bleeds out to black whilst the right hand tree just begins to pick up the deep autumn tints where the other is leaving off, very clever of you to spot that and present in in this picture.
