I saw this while walking the streets of the Ann Arbor Art Fair last week.
It's on an old congregational church. What puzzles me is the symbol below the cross. It looks like a dollar sign with three vertical lines.
Anyone know what it means?

 Don't know. I'll see if I can find out by looking in the encyclopedia. I'll be sure to let you know what I find out.

Neither do I could be the architects trade mark, having said that, there is a Catholic church in Preston who's exterior is decorated with swastika's, must see that sometime.

This is just a wild guess, and probably incorrect, but it could (or should?) represent the believer's salvation (S) as provided by the Holy Trinity (III).
