JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Let's put it this way, if he got converted to becoming a Christian, that would be some testimony. I was sat on Blackpool's north pier having a sandwich, and I noticed the sun blazing through the skylight casting these shadows across the posters and the hanging flower basket. Colourful, in more ways than one.

I need to get me one of those jackets.

I think it must have belonged to Joseph, his coat of many colours, could actually be translated as pieces. You need the flying hat to go with it. Anyway you can borrow mine if you want.

ScottyBoy

I just may take you up on that.  ;) ;D

Scotty have your mum or a quilter make you one!

If that 's the "Best of Britain," then I'm curious about what the worst might be!  Good shot, though.

It doesn't come much worse than Chubby, but then he's sort of typical icon of the British seaside resort, like Blackpool rock, and fish and chip shops, boarding houses Blackpool's north pier and Chubby brown just seem to go together, I've sat there a few times, but the last time I realised yes there is a picture there, the colour the shadows, and Chubby's grinning face. Blackpool is a grot spot, given over to the cheap and tatty, full of plastic swan shops, pound shops, racks of clothes outside shops nobody would even want to steal, there's a bus station, that would come second to a cave, its run down, its known as the gay capital of Europe, the rainbow flags seem to hang from every window, if they built a refinery there, the grease off the fish and chips woul keep it running. And yet, I've never been to Blackpool and came away without some worthwhile photographs, I've been blessed going there. Outside the railway station was one of the best gospel posters ever, I even wrote a tract about it. There is a tatty bookshop down a side street where I found two books I'd been looking for, for years. The end of summer means the illuminations, and although they just swap the lights around, instead of inventing new themes, there is an ocean of colour and light, Blackpool became a mecca for people to escape from the grime and monotony of the mill towns, to the feel good glitz of the seaside. You know what? Walk along the prom, near the sea, there's a wonderful sense of peace to be had, there, despite the crowds across the road, the trams rumbling by, you can feel the ever present blackness of the sea, and the gentle sound of the waves lapping the shore, in among all the bussle and tat and glitter, yes you can have a real sense of God's presence,  and that poster just about sums Blackpool up for me, a tatty, scruffy, vanity fair sort of place that's full of life, and in that sense, you can say yes it is the Best Of Britain.

God so loved the world, well you know the rest, and here they all are, looking for that bit of something in their lives, and not knowing the one who gave his life for them, and the Father who loves us all so much that he did something great to bring every single one of us back to Himself. Maybe that picture could fit in well with a gospel tract, what I've written tonight is beginning to inspire me. Best Of Britain, eh?
