JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Fleetwood to Belfast car ferry, at Fleetwood, went with a friend for an evening drive, here's where we ended up, the setting sun was being reflected from the side of the ship, I especially liked the silouette and the shadow of the gangway set against the gleaming hull of the ship.

ScottyBoy

Summicron; you have a special eye for unusual things. Your photos are amazing.

Barbarian

Summicron, just guessing, but is your computer monitor a CRT, rather than an LED screen?

Summicron

Yes, and its a ton weight, thought of getting a digital, but I don't think I could lift this one out, brand name is tiny, it looks it too.

Summicron

Ah, now I know what you're getting at Barbarian. Of course digital screens render pictures much less saturated than the older type of Cathode Ray Tube, I noticed this when we went over to see Margery's son in law, I noticed just how much paler (aneamic) looking they were on his monitor, but didn't give it any thought, as I thought someone just had the brightness cranked up to their taste, this is something new to me. Like I said I'm using a 19" CRT monitor, and my slides look well saturated to me.

Barbarian

The problem is that old CRTs get darker, and you crank up the brightness to compensate.

And then, on newer screens, your photos look a bit washed out.

Had this happen to me a while back.
