JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Here are a few pictures I took practicing. I would appreciate any advice if these need improvement. Thank you.

2: Squirrel
3:ducks

Bloomin eck! them's not bad at all lass, perhaps a polarising filter would have helped to get rid of the highlight on the leaf at the side of the butterfly, the lightness takes away slightly your attention from the butterflies wing.

The red squirrel is Ok, the eye is clearly discernable, and there is good detail in its coat plus a few intewesting highlights.

What a lovely grouping of ducks, and those ripples on the water are simply wonderful, this would have been better a little bit darker as there are a few burnt out highlights there, but overall, nicely seen and photographed.

Thank you so much Summicron for your comments on my pictures. It is good to get other people to give their opinion.

So you are only practicing Melody! Well they all look pretty good to me. I love the red squirrel...they are our native squirrel and a certain American grey cousin is displacing them...grrrr! Like the ducks also. Come to think of it..I like butterfly too! I cannot offer you any tips. I still use the camera where you have to stick your head below a blanket.. :uglystupid:  <3

Thanks Colin . glad you like the pictures. <3

The squirrel is wonderful just as it is.   The others are great images, but could use a bit of tweaking.   What do you use to process your images?   A slight adjustment of curves and a bit of burning in could greatly improve them.

It's worth while to get a decent image processing program and play with it.   If you don't want to spend money, you can download the GIMP for free; it does everything most photographers would ever want, including some very sophisticated manipulations.

Those are the easy things.   The hard part is getting the eye for the image.  And you have that, judging by your work here.

Scotty, Just Type in Gimp on your search engine, the download should be free, I used to have it on a disc that came free on Amateur Photographer Magazine, I prefer one called photofiltre, thats free as well, if your out there, give e'm both a try.
