I have been trying to think of something to photograph in the comforts of my own home...and this is what I came up with! My husband has a wonderful rose garden and he was kind enough to let me pluck a rose, use some paint, gather a TON of newspaper, and help me set up in the middle of the living room Set up took an obnoxiously long time...my equipment is scattered all through the house (not to mention also in the Jeep).

Hmmmm, a challenge; do one with the rose positioned horizontally (right angle to the drips) and match the paint to the rose color?

@Gjtoth & JudyB: thank you! It was a lot of fun to do (aside from the set-up that seemed to take forever).

@Jimiam: Interesting idea, I'll have to try that. I'm hoping to do a lot more of this (get a full series going on) and I really like your take on it.

A series is a great idea on these! So unique! I look forward to seeing more of your work. The close up is superb! 

That's really creative, and an amazing job making it a reality!  I just feel sorry for the rose, being all covered in paint in all.   

Very clever and creative, followed through to a striking and beautiful result.    And like most creative ideas, it brings up a host of possibilities.
