Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

When Judy McKenna and I went to the Royal Winter Fair, we found this Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman and decided to take a photo of "him".

Yes, we actually had a terrific time!  It's been years since I went to the "Royal" and I was so happy to go this year.

We sat through the auction sale of young heifers!  This one went for the small sum of over $14,000.!!!  It wouldn't fit in Judy's back seat of her car so we didn't bid on it!

What a shame!  Next time take a bigger car.

THIS IS BUTTER!

At the "Royal", I always enjoy watching these marvelous sculptors work away in the very cold "fridge" making their masterpieces.

Judy liked this bench!

It really was impressive!

In the late 1800's, the Colliseum was built at the Canadian National Exhibition on the shores of Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto.

Over the years, this building housed many events several times a year.

A few years ago, they built a new massive building but they left the old colliseum inside the new one.

This is a photo showing the walls of the old building with its ornate carvings.

This is the old door into the Livestock area from over a hundred years ago.  What beautiful work.  I'm so glad that they didn't dimolish this when they built the new building.

Judy and I saw the neatest chair/seat (?) for the house.

Judy persuaded me to sit in it.  I was very concerned that it might not hold me but it did!

Then we helped Judy into the seat.

While we were walking around the various exhibits, Judy spied a lady selling something!

She had a dog just like Judy's and this is a special carrier for the dog!

This dog sure didn't mind it and she had maybe two others as well and they were just as good as gold letting her handle them in whatever way she wanted.

She showed Judy how it would even fit nicely on the front of the walker!

Oh Pat and Judy, thank-you, these are lovely.  You certainly enjoyed yourselves.
Gosh all that butter such a waste, clever though. Is this what happens to the "butter mountain?"
Pat, is that really "Coke" you are drinking or do you just look tired?
I love the doggie.
How did you know I love Mounties........I really enjoy "Due South".
What a super little doll!

Pat

Yes, Judy, it was such a fun day for sure!  And remember the terrible stormy weather coming home?  I'll not forget that for awhile either.

That WAS a neat chair but I can't imagine where I'd ever put it in my house!  Comfortable though.

HAHAHA!  Yep!  Just Coke!  I have a crazy eye that droops and has for years and I always look tired, Jenny!  I just can't open it.  LOL

Jenny

Gosh..Hi Pat, that was quick, are you going to bed now?

Judy McKenna

HAHA., Jenny... it really was COKE Pat was drinking... I cn vouch for that!..LOL
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Pat

Yes, Jenny, I'm going to bed now.

Geordie's friend up the street is going to be here at 8:30 in the morning to take him for a walk in the snow!

So I have to be up for that.

Then I'm going into Toronto for a Christmas dinner with Ruthie!  Looking forward to that too.

Nice photos

I blame the cut backs for the mountie size same the world over.  The council is to blame!!

Have a pic similar to that bench someplace.  See if I can find it taken at the Cheshire Show.

Not sure if I would take my dog walkies in a push chair.  A dog has to have its little sniff.   Over here the animal protection people would lock you up.  Remember one guy who took his dog walkies in a trolley late at night so the jerks would not laugh.

Think it had lost the ability to walk and he loved it to pieces.  Knew how he felt!!

Etta Sue

Looks like you and Judy had a great time.  My son, Tony, has one of those swinging chairs.  He has it in his garage...his 'guy' place where he talks on the CB and smokes his terrible habit.  Still can't stop!!!

Sonifo

I think the cow is a Swiss Brown. That must be where we get our swiss cheese.  For 14,ooo dollars it better be the bestest cheese ever.  :D

QuoteBy Pat~Then we helped Judy into the seat.

hahahhaahaa...If it is that hard to get in and out I think you would sure get some relaxing done if nobody was there to get you out of it.  So there you would sit, all day.  LOL...hahhahaha....  Looks comfy!

That is cool that they put the building inside the other building. Great way to keep the past alive.

I love that seat too, Judy!  Beautiful.
My Grandfather made things like that when he was alive.  He would incorperate antlers and wood together and make them into chairs, coffee tabes and stuff.

Thanks Pat for sharing.  I enjoy seeing pictures of our members on cp.

Oh ya!  That dog leash/bag thingy.  That is so cool.  I would get one if I had a dog[/b].

Janet

Pat and Judy, glad you had such a good time.  You did see some neat things, huh?  I love the bench, in particular.  They have the butter sculpting contest at out Kansas State fair, too.  But I have only seen that once.

I think I have seen one of those chairs somewhere......can't remember where.....maybe at a motor home place.

Thanks for sharing your day with us, and after my trip to Dodge yesterday, I can say I know how you felt with the winter conditions to drive in, too! :-\

$14,000???  Was that heifer a kid's 4-H project or something?  Those would be some high dollar steaks---or milk....or butter......or??
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Pat

Hi Janet...  No, those were some pretty pricey heifers.  Not any 4-H project for sure!  LOL  There were some pretty high stakes buyers there using cell phones and itching their noses, etc.  Judy and I were asked so many times by these nice men, "Are you bidding yet?"

These were Jersey cattle.

Pat, were you really drinking COKE?? :o  Some places in the world, you have to say "Coca Cola" or you would be in big trouble!  ;D ;D

I can't imagine why a jersey heifer would bring that kind of price!  My dad had those, we milked them, along with Brown Swiss, guernsey, and later, Holsteins.  Daddy always liked the breeds that produced rich milk, but when we went to the Grade A Dairy and sold the whole milk instead of cream, then quantity became the more important factor in milk production.  He called the milk from holsteins "blue john" and said you could read the date on a dime if you dropped it to the bottom of the  bucket!  ;D ;D

The reason I asked about 4-H is that, here, those calves fetch much higher prices than the regular market would bring.  That's because the businesses and people who buy them are helping the kids.  Many kids make their college money from their 4-H animals.

Thanks for the memories!

Pat

Yep, coke!  HAHAHA!

Janet, those were being sold as breeding stock...not just for milkers.    One went for almost $20,000 but when all was averaged out, I forget the exact amount but I think they said that the evening's average was $6,000.  per heifer.

This fair is the largest in Canada and these breeders were from right across the country brought in for the buyers that were there from right across North America.  It was so funny to hear the genealogy of each being read out as the young girls slowly walked them around in the circle.
