Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Oh My.  Is that ever a beautiful scene.  As Many know I love train Pictures.  You have offset the train and broought in the sunset beautifully.  Way to go. Nice work

HolyGhosted

Thank you very much Judy B.
You made my day, I hope to be ordering this soon in a large print with some of my other recent work that is ok. I can not wait to see it in print like a 18X24 or larger.

OH Hey that would be beautiful!

Pat

What a wonderful image!  I love the colours and the scene is just beautiful!  I like the way that the train is "coming into the photo".  Wondering if it would even be better if it was a little bit past half way?  But just a marvelous photo.

Summicron

You've ballanced the sky well with the foreground, there's colour in the sunset and yet just the right amount of detail both in the locomotive and the grass, lovely moody shot.

Summicron and Pat thank you for your comments.

From the time I was 16, until I was 22, I worked summers on tie gangs and maintenance equipment for railroads.

My first summer, I was about 100 miles from home, living in a bunk car with other kids I didn't know.   It seemed like a universe away, and I was achingly homesick.    I remember the sun going down, and a diesel engine like that one passing through.

That bittersweet memory came rushing back when I saw your picture.    Thank you for that moment.   That is precisely what good art does.

Well done.

BTW, that little bit of sunlight  coming through the cab window makes a huge difference for your shot.

CC?  Not much to add to this shot.  As the others mentioned, a nicely balanced image!

Wow.  This is postcard quality, in my opinion.  Barbarian is right:  That light coming through the window contributes so much to this.  And that sunset, too.  I would have this printed up the biggest it will print and hang it on your wall!
