A week or so ago, a large green katydid showed up on our front storm door (on the glass itself - the door is mostly glass). I took a picture of it with my cell phone, but didn't think to get my digital camera out to get a better photo.

Tonight when I went to let the dog in (for the umpteenth time...), I noticed another giant green leaf bug/katydid out on the deck, and once again took some pics with my cell phone. However, I wasn't impressed with them, so I decided to grab the digital camera. Because the bug was on the deck, I got these great up-close photos. Both photos are taken from almost the exact same angle. The only difference is that the second one was taken without the flash (the light is provided by two floodlights on the side of the house).
