JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

DESSERT HINTS

  • Add confectioners' sugar to whipping cream before beating.? The whipped cream stands up well even if it is not used immediately.

  • To make powdered sugar, blend 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in the blender at medium speed for 2 minutes.

  • To add a delightful flavor to whipped cream, add a teaspoon of strained honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.? It will remain firm all day.

  • Soak peeled apples in cold water to which 1 teaspoon of salt has been added.? They will not discolor.

  • A tasty sauce for baked apples can be made by mixing honey and whipped cream.

  • Substitute ? cup honey for 1 cup sugar up to 1 cup total.

  • When using honey, reduce the total amount of other liquids by ? cup per cup of honey in the conventional recipe.

  • Reduce baking temperature 25? to prevent over-browning when cooking with honey.?

  • To melt chocolate, grease the pan in which it is to be melted.

  • A pinch of salt added to very sour fruits while cooking will greatly reduce the amount of sugar needed.

  • Keep apples, bananas, pears and other fruits from discoloring when cut-up by coating them with orange juice or diluted lemon juice.

Sue

I will have to try the substitute for confectioner's sugar!

Etta Sue

Do so, Sue, and let us all know how it works!!!

Hi Etta or anyone who knows.

I feel like a "jerk" --I know what parchment paper is but where do I buy it??

I looked where tin foil and wax paper is but no luck

Also, can wax paper be used to line cookie sheets?

Or do I use parchment paper if I can find it!!!

Wanted to make fish, veggies in a parchment paper enevelope baked in the
oven; so instead of tin foil--thought the parchment paper was a good idea.

Perhaps it may be in the baking section of the grocery store where the "paper cups" for cupcakes are kept.

You might also try a store like "Michaels" (it is a craft store but has sections for knitting, dried flowers, cake decorating, framing....etc"

Etta Sue

Joyce, I bought some of those stoneware products from Pampered Chef and they call for parchment paper for some recipes.  I found parchment paper in the baking aisle, I think near the waxed paper and foil.  I don't remember if I bought it or not, though.  I found mine at Super WalMart.  So, probably, Super Anything would have parchment paper.  :)

Etta Sue

Jerry is here and just looked for me.  I did buy parchment paper.  It is in a box like foil.  The brand name is Reynolds and it is a still paper that tears off just like foil and waxed paper.  Only problems is it says 'Paper made in France'!!

OH, Great, thanks for the suggestion.

Hubby would probably be glad if I find it in Walmart--just to keep me out of Michael's.

See things I would love to create in Michaels but just dont have the time.

Will soon though, seriously thinking of slowing down at work.

Gave it to the Lord to decide, as always, for me.

Thanks again.

Joyce,

;D  Someone made me some fish once & it was uniquely different.  They made a special tomatoe sause & put the fish into the foil & cooked it over a grill that way & it really tasted good.

;D  I wish there were a Michaels around here, then I could get some really nice things.   :o  I'm sure my husband is glad that there isn't.   :o  At least when I go to walmarts, my husband doesn't know what I've purchased there, because of the large variety.   ::)  He's definately not as crazy about crafts as I am.
