Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Oh, with all due respect, I beg to differ with you Jeanne ;)  Here's sporting an awesome color combination, and looks pretty sharp on that flower.  Nice capture, Buddy!

I'll have to agree with BigSkyKen, that bug is as beautiful as that Zinnia.

Great shot Buddy!

Sorry, guys, but I have a "thing" about bugs and that was what drew my immediate attention.  To me, the picture would have been much nicer without it.   As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.     :D

Don't feel bad, Jeanne. You are not alone. I like shooting insects, but that bug appears to invade that beautiful flower.
That bug would surely look nice on a dark green leaf. Butterflies and bees. Yes they go with the flowers, but bug???
It is like adding tomato sauce to a good cup of coffee.

Sorry Guys, this time I have to side with Jeanne.   ;D

Bugs and flowers are as natural as it gets Mario but I do see your point about bees and Butterflies.

I understand your point also Jeanne.

Maybe you like this one Mario and it is truly a hand held shot. I was holding the bug and the camera.   ;D

Nice job, Don. Now, these shots are what validate my point. Bugs are one of God's beautiful creations specially when presented the way you did in the above photos. I will post my bug shot too... when I find it.

Here is a good-looking bug (or beetle) I shot in my backyard some time ago.
It's okay Jeanne, you can look.

That bug you were holding, Don, is a genuine bug, a hemipteran, and a rather good looking assassin bug.  You see that pointy thing under his body?   A piercing tool that injects a nasty toxin that really hurts.

Lucky you didn't annoy him.

The "bug" on the red zinnia is actually a cerembicid, a longhorn beetle.   Don't know the genus or species, though.

Very informative, Barbie.
