Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I took a series of "old roads" theme.  Was disappointed that some were less than sharp.  I was messing around with the worst one and did some desaturization etc, and was wondering what ya'll thought!

Looking forward to getting some honest feedback.  Should I trash them all.  Do they have any merit at all?

I actually like them, Pinkie.  Very nice in b/w.

Marilyn

I  like them all too. Is the second B/W a little softer than the first, or am I seeing things?

Well, my favorite is the first one which is the original?  I love that little road and I really like the colours of it.

Pinkie - I think they are all beautiful... I especially like the first one!

I like the first one with color best, too, Pinkie.

I can't tell on this website, Marilyn, but on the original pics, I added contrast on one of the BW and sharpened the other.  So they are a little different, but my eyes are tired and I need to go and rest them!  hehe...  Good night all.

Pinkie the one on the Top.  Is it the original?  I am thinking that it has been touched a bit.  I dod play with some levels and a slight recrop.    As far as sharpness I could not do anything.

Have a great day.

Hi John...

How nice to see you!  How's that web page going?

Re Pinkie's photo, the photos were all a bit large for our forums and I had to compress them to 35K for displaying.  I'm sure that she could send you the original so that you could see it.    You've done a great job!

Pat...believe it or not...I very carefully follow the guidelines with regard to size and compression, but the site I use to transport them to this site, changes the size all the time.  Sorry

It's ok, Nancy.  I knew you were having trouble.

You are careful not to do even one thing after you've compressed?

I don't have this problem and haven't on any site where I store graphics and photos.  The size my photos are when I upload is what they are when they arrive at their destination!  LOL

It's strange.

YOu are too sweet, Pat.  The site that I post to is called Instant Logic.  It allows me to store up to 200 or 2000 MB for free (I can't remember which - but I remember thinking it sounded like a lot!)  Anyway, if you'd like to see what I have on there so far.  Mostly what I've posted to CP since that's what I use it for... http://pedersenphoto.instantlogic.com/Home.ilx
I tried to find out how much space they allot me, but I couldn't find it out.  Oh well...
BTW I just checked out the URL above and found out that it dumps you right in to my management area - maybe you can sniff out the amount of space that they allow!

I've found that uploading my pictures adds a little to the size, too.  So I just make sure my maximum is 34K rather than 35 and that seems to work.

Ok

I reworked the Original.  Took out a few mp with a crop then hit the shot with some Color Balance of about 5600 degrees Kelvin.  Saturated the shot Sharpened it a tad bit with the unsharp mask then compressed it to 60%. Ouch!!! Of course I like it better uncompressed.  It is far cleaner.  But we must be able to live within the confines.  :-)

Hope you enjoy this.

Have a Blessed evening, I mean morning.

Looks great!  I want to know how you do 5600 degrees Kelvin?  I really like the COLOR you put into it!  Makes a world of difference.  I keep looking into that archway and seeing the GREEN.  I didn't see that in mine!  But it must've been there!  Wish I could have you look over my shoulder and coach me! hahah   ;D ;D
Shalom...

The color comes from increasing the saturation.  It can be taken so far it looks gaudy, but John did a great job here and it looks excellent.
