Hi all.  It was a great day when I surfed onto your wonderful site! I have recently taken up photography seriously again after about 25 years away from it.  With everything heading digital real quick it's almost like starting over from the beginning again.  Bought myself a Panasonic FZ7 recently; don't they come with such thick instruction manuals? Slowly coming to grips with it though.  Hope to be able to step up to a dSLR soon, maybe next year.

I live in a small town of about 4000 souls called Waihi with my wife Tricia and step-children Charlotte and Christopher. I have three daughters of my own who live in Auckland with their mother. I guess Waihi's biggest claim to fame is the very large open pit gold mine right on the edge of town.

I'm real interested in trying my hand at street photography, which I guess is an interesting choice for someone as shy as I am!  When I have some images worth sharing I'll post them.

Hello, Rod.  Welcome to Christian Photography. 

I had to smile at your choice of photography, "Street Photography", and your shyness.  My sister used to be very shy.  Now she will go into any situation and take her camera and snap away.  She has overcome her shyness just by the love of photography and not missing the "perfect shot".  I don't know if I could ever do that.  I'm shy too.

I can't wait to see your street photos.  You will do it well.  Shy people tend to see what others miss.  I really believe that.  They just need to get brave enough to take the photo. haha

I'm over here on the West coast of the US.  In Oregon.  I'm looking forward to getting to know another brother.   Nita

Hello there, Rod!  I'm Janet, and I live in a very rural area of Kansas, in the heartland of the USA.  It's wonderful that you have joined us here, and we will all be looking forward to to getting to know you and enjoying your photography.

Even if you are shy, you can talk to us via your computer keyboard, and we won't ever see your blushing face, except like this... .   

So make yourself at home, snap lots of those street photos (interesting choice, very intriguing!) and talk to us whenever you feel like it!
