Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Etta Sue Alternate heat and cold, Just heat gets the blood flowing however it can cause swelling, cold will prevent swelling.  Hope the BP is down and pray you feel better.

Larry glad the wound was closed up. Praying for wisdom for the doctors to find the source of infection.

Gord we continue to pray.

So glad to hear of the new baby to carry on the name.

Carol we have a knitting group in the local library, I have thought of joining it....will wait till my present on line course is done first though.

Have a good day folks!

The Way That He Loves[/b]
(Click to hear music)

by W. Elmo Mercer

The way that He loves is as fair as the day,
that blesses my way with light;
The way that He loves is as soft as the breeze,
Caressing the trees at night.
So tender and precious is He,
Contented with Jesus, I'll be.
The way that He loves is so thrilling because
His love reaches even me.

The way that He loves is as deep as the sea,
His spirit shall be my stay;
The way that He loves is as pure as a rose,
Much sweeter He grows each day.
His peace hovers near like a dove,
I know there's a Heaven above;
To Jesus I cling-life's a wonderful thing
Because of the way He loves.

How good it is to know our prayers have been answered.  Successful surgery for both Noreen and Stacey and Beth is doing better.  Thank you, Gord, Larry and Janet for the updates.

And congratulations to Great Grandmother Janice!

Checking in on Larry, Janet, and Gord.  The news is better for sure.

Larry:  I hope they get to the reason for Stacey's blood numbers and stabilize it for her.  The package is in the mail.

Don had a fun conversation today with the son of a man who coached baseball & the son actually remembers Don playing as a youth.  We will be staying at their B & B in Duluth, MN on our trip so that will be interesting plus meeting any relatives around for Don.  He went to the monthly  breakfast this morning and now is heading out to meet two gals who worked for him.

JudyB:  Our church has a knitting group but it is such a strange time for me that I just never make it so have given up.  This group are all neighbors.

Where is Ruth Ann?   Have I missed her posts?

Hello Everyone...

Plans changed this week with Paul's brother and sister-in-law's visit here in Virginia.  The other brother they were to visit following us, (Rolf and Lorraine)...Rolf got ill and they had to cancel so Peter and Marge stayed with us until today.  It was a lovely visit.  The temperature was 80 to 85 F while they were here and now today, it seems that rain might be coming.

Yes, I lost my dear friend, Ross up in London on Sunday morning at 7:15 am.  Only the Lord knows if he was ready to die but I know that I witnessed to him every time I was there.  They are having a "Celebration of Life" service for him on Apr. 20 or near that and I haven't decided yet if I'm going to attend or not.

Good news of Noreen, Gord.  Now you must get better too!  You'll be needed when Noreen gets home!  ;)  This is big sister speaking!!!! <3

Congratulations Janice on the birth of the new little one.  I pray that this child will be raised in the fear and admonition of our dear Heavenly Father.

I continue to remember Stacey, Larry and you and Pat as well.

Sorry about your friend passing away, Janet.

Must close now.  I'm very, very tired.

Love to you all,

Pat

I was just talking to Ruth Ann.  She has been really busy, her trucker son has been home and having him home I am willing to bet was a real treat!!!

Well The forecast of snow has hit some areas of the province, we have been exempt from it, however it is cold.  A piercing wind is blowing and has been all day.  We are all getting tires of the cold up here, it is just dragging on and on.
I haven't heard any more from Gord I expect he will post himself tonight!

Have a good evening folks!

We're expected to have some sleet and freezing rain by tomorrow.  Not unusual for mid April, but we would be very happy to do without it.  The doctor's office called this afternoon to remind me of my appointment tomrrow and I told her if the weather is as bad as predicted I'll call and re-schedule.

And Pat, you don't need to rub it in about your Virginia temperatures!   :D

The visitation was busy and crowded!  I saw three different people and wondered why they were at my cousin's visitation.  One was a church member, her sister married my cousin's wife's brother.  Another was the woman across the road from me where the flag is...she is another cousin's wife's first cousin.  And another was a sister to one of my Euchre players...she was in high school with my cousin.  Dale, my cousin, was one of 7 kids so there were a lot of relatives there!  And Dale had four kids and they all have 3-4 kids...handsome family...all of them.

So we left telling everyone that we didn't know if we would go to the funeral today or not.  But my neck feels better so Ivalou and I are going but not to the cemetery.  Don't want to be out in the cold and wind any more than necessary.

Just saw two bunnies run across my yard to go under a pine tree!  They are so cute!  One was by the garage yesterday and one was by the pine tree earlier this week.  Hope they stay around and away from the road!

It is cloudy this morning...and only 37°....that's not freezing but pretty close to it!

Larry Hanna

Hi after a very stormy night here in our area.  Fortunately, I haven't heard of any damage in our area and all we got was some very heavy downpours. It is suppose to be a nice day today.   She was in a lot of pain when we left although they had given her pain medication.

A tech from Comcast is suppose to come sometime today (between 8 am and 8 pm-isn't that convenient for the customer).  Fortunately he is suppose to call in advance.  He is coming to verify that I own my own modem and I found the receipt for the purchase of it back in 2011 so shouldn't experience any problems.  They had added an amount on my last bill for a modem and it was to go up to $7/month starting next month.  I hope to spend time today working on Stacey's computer and also on Pat's as it seems to be grinding away all the time.

Pat and I both had a good night's sleep last night.  Pat talked with Stacey this morning and she had a pretty miserable night.  Where they did the bone marrow test was in the herniated disk she has in her back and that is also very painful for her.  They did give her a pain pump yesterday but she said it really didn't cover the pain.

Etta Sue, glad you saw the doctor and found out the problem.  Good that you can get some relief from the heating pad. It is probably wise to not go to the cemetery after the service today.  The ground is usually uneven and neither you nor Ivalou need to have a fall.

Judy, how much longer is your online course?  Hope you are enjoying it.

Jeanne, I am confident that all the prayers have been answered in the way Stacey came through the surgeries and hopefully this will be the last she has to endure for a long time.  Hope you miss the sleet and freezing rain today.

Carol, I saw your e-mail and will respond to it later this morning.  I am really looking forward to getting the package and will be forever grateful to Don and you for its contents. Your trip to Minnesota sound like a lot of fun and it is a small world with the example of Don's coach from many years ago.

Pat, the visit of Paul's brother and SIL sounds lovely.  Did you all get to sit outside and enjoy the lovely view I know you have from your home on the mountain?  I was sorry to read of the loss of your friend Ross.  It always seems to me better to have visited while a person is alive than attending services afterward.

Judy, I hope we hear more from Gord today as was wondering if Noreen will be going to rehab for a few days or just coming straight home.

Jeanne Lee

Larry, I'm sorry to hear that Stacey is having a lot of pain that the meds aren't helping.  Prayers continue.

It's just after 10:00 a.m. and there is a very obvious coating of ice on my porch and steps.  I'll wait until noon, but if it's still icy I'll call and change my appointment.  There is no way I'm about to take a chance on a broken bone in order to treat a small cut on my hand!

JudyB

Praying for Stacey.  They need to get pain control going, that may take time with that surgery.

Jeanne good to "see" you.

Gord how is Noreen?

Pat when are you heading north?

WE have a blizzard going here, cold and windy...Many days I feel the -40 is not as penetration as the as these temperatures.  Spring will come, probably suddenly!

Have a safe great day everyone.

The Spacious Firmament
(Click to hear music)

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1

Words: Joseph Addison, 1672-1719

Music: "Creation," Franz J. Haydn, 1798

The spacious firmament on high,
With all the blue ethereal sky,
And spangled heavens, a shining frame
Their great Original proclaim.
Th'unwearied sun, from day to day,
Does his Creator's powers display,
And publishes to every land
The work of an Almighty Hand.

Soon as the evening shades prevail
The moon takes up the wondrous tale,
And nightly to the listening earth
Repeats the story of her birth;
While all the stars that round her burn
And all the planets in their turn,
Confirm the tidings as they roll,
And spread the truth from pole to pole.

What though in solemn silence all
Move round the dark terrestrial ball?
What though no real voice nor sound
Amid the radiant orbs be found?
In reason's ear they all rejoice,
And utter forth a glorious voice,
Forever singing as they shine,
"The hand that made us is divine."

Janet

Did I not post yesterday?  I know I was here a couple times and read all the posts.

Pat, sorry to hear of your friend's passing.  Larry, prayers continue for Stacey.  Jeanne, hope it thaws there so you can get out when you need to do so.

Etta Sue, glad you are better now.

Carol, I am interested in one of the "pen/stylus" (whatever you call them) that Don makes.  Let me know, okay?

When we came home from the gym a little while ago, we found our dog Kumar out on the highway.  He had been struck by a car and killed.  So sad....we had worked with him so much to try to get him to stop chasing cars!  And thought we were successful, as he had been stopping at the end of our short driveway.  We had just had him groomed yesterday, at a cost of $50 and he looked so pretty!  I think we will stay "dog-less" from now on, just too much bad luck with dogs these past years.

Today the Spring Fling starts here, and this great grandma will be baby-sitting three pretty little girls this afternoon while Granddaughter-in-law sets up their booth.  Curtis is flying home from the security show in Las Vegas today, so that leaves them in a bind.  He will come here asap when he gets home, but has to drive from Amarillo.  It is unhandy at times to live 200 miles from the nearest airport of any size at all!

See you all later.  I wish you a wonderful day!

Hello everyone...... I am praying for all as I read the needs (Stacey, Noreen, Etta Sue, Beth and Ruth's Daughter-in-law, especially, for God's healing and comfort)
I agree with JudyB, it's a nasty day, out there..... however spring is around the corner. My daffodils are peeking out!
Being April (tax time) I am endeavouring to have them all done, this coming week. We'll be going to Toronto, on the 30th, as my husband is scheduled for a hernia repair.
Janet: So very sad about your puppy.  :aaah: (hugs) for you

The wedding of the Lamb has come,
and His bride has made herself ready.
Revelation 19:7

Anne R. Cousin

The sands of time are sinking, the dawn of heaven breaks;
The summer morn I've sighed for, the fair, sweet morn awakes:
Dark, dark hath been the midnight, but dayspring is at hand,
And glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.

O Christ, He is the fountain, the deep, sweet well of love!
The streams of earth I've tasted more deep I'll drink above:
There to an ocean fullness His mercy doth expand,
And glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.

Oh! Well it is forever, Oh! well forevermore,
My nest hung in no forest of all this death doomed shore:
Yea, let the vain world vanish, as from the ship the strand,
While glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.

There the Red Rose of Sharon unfolds its heartsome bloom
And fills the air of heaven with ravishing perfume:
Oh! To behold it blossom, while by its fragrance fanned
Where glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.

The King there in His beauty, without a veil is seen:
It were a well spent journey, though seven deaths lay between:
The Lamb with His fair army, doth on Mount Zion stand,
And glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel?s land.

Oft in yon sea beat prison My Lord and I held tryst,
For Anwoth was not heaven, and preaching was not Christ:
And aye, my murkiest storm cloud was by a rainbow spanned,
Caught from the glory dwelling in Immanuel's land.

But that He built a Heaven of His surpassing love,
A little new Jerusalem, like to the one above,
"Lord take me over the water" hath been my loud demand,
Take me to my love's own country, unto Immanuel's land.

But flowers need nights cool darkness, the moonlight and the dew;
So Christ, from one who loved it, His shining oft withdrew:
And then, for cause of absence my troubled soul I scanned
But glory shadeless shineth in Immanuel?s land.

The little birds of Anwoth, I used to count them blessed,
Now, beside happier altars I go to build my nest:
Over these there broods no silence, no graves around them stand,
For glory, deathless, dwelleth in Immanuel?s land.

Fair Anwoth by the Solway, to me thou still art dear,
Even from the verge of heaven, I drop for thee a tear.
Oh! If one soul from Anwoth meet me at God?s right hand,
My heaven will be two heavens, In Immanuel?s land.

I?ve wrestled on towards Heaven, against storm and wind and tide,
Now, like a weary traveler that leaneth on his guide,
Amid the shades of evening, while sinks life?s lingering sand,
I hail the glory dawning from Immanuel?s land.

Deep waters crossed life?s pathway, the hedge of thorns was sharp;
Now, these lie all behind me Oh! for a well tuned harp!
Oh! To join hallelujah with yon triumphant band,
Who sing where glory dwelleth in Immanuel?s land.

With mercy and with judgment my web of time He wove,
And aye, the dews of sorrow were lustered with His love;
I?ll bless the hand that guided, I?ll bless the heart that planned
When throned where glory dwelleth in Immanuel?s land.

Soon shall the cup of glory wash down earth?s bitterest woes,
Soon shall the desert briar break into Eden?s rose;
The curse shall change to blessing the name on earth that?s banned
Be graven on the white stone in Immanuel?s land.

O I am my Beloved?s and my Beloved?s mine!
He brings a poor vile sinner into His ?house of wine.?
I stand upon His merit?I know no other stand,
Not even where glory dwelleth in Immanuel?s land.

I shall sleep sound in Jesus, filled with His likeness rise,
To love and to adore Him, to see Him with these eyes:
?Tween me and resurrection but Paradise doth stand;
Then?then for glory dwelling in Immanuel?s land.

The Bride eyes not her garment, but her dear Bridegroom?s face;
I will not gaze at glory but on my King of grace.
Not at the crown He giveth but on His pierced hand;
The Lamb is all the glory of Immanuel?s land.

I have borne scorn and hatred, I have borne wrong and shame,
Earth?s proud ones have reproached me for Christ?s thrice blessed Name:
Where God His seal set fairest they?ve stamped the foulest brand,
But judgment shines like noonday in Immanuel?s land.

They?ve summoned me before them, but there I may not come,
My Lord says ?Come up hither,? My Lord says ?Welcome home!?
My King, at His white throne, my presence doth command
Where glory?glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.

Woohoo JOhn will be home today...in a couple of hours.  We have a lot to discuss, so the 'puter will likely be off.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It will soon be lunch time and is now up to 65 degrees and sunny. I have had a very busy morning and am very tired so decided I need to sit down and rest before fixing some lunch.  After coffee I went to Dollar Tree to exchange two pairs of the glasses I got for Stacey as they were too strong.  If they don't work we will just donate them to our Honduras mission team.  Then I stopped at Walmart for some items and finally to Aldi's to get some fresh fruits and vegetables in the house.  I came home and put everything away.  Yesterday was a red letter day in that Pat drove the car for the first time in several months and took herself to the beauty shop to get a haircut.  She got along fine.  The Comcast tech called about 4 pm and told me there was no need to send a tech out but had me read off the last four digits of the MAC address on the modem I am using, which agree with their records so he was marking the record as owner supplied rather than leased.  Stacey had a better night and said she had gotten a little sleep.  She has in her mind that she will be released on Monday to her apartment and then will go to the rehab after getting some clothes.  I don't think reality has really struck her yet as to her ability to handle daily living but hopefully the rehab will be able to teach her the skills she needs to care for herself.  I am ready for a restful afternoon and evening.

Judy, enjoy your time with John this weekend.  I was also wondering about Noreen, Beth, your daughter and Ruth's DIL (hope I haven't left anyone out).

Al, glad the trip to Texas is behind you and that you are settled at your son's home.  Glad that you won't be alone anymore.  You will have to tell us about your living arrangements as we are interested (perhaps mosey would a better word).

RuthV, I bet you will be glad to see the tax season and the stress of it over for this year.  Mine are done for this year and the small refunds from State and Federal are in the bank.

Janet, so sorry to hear of the loss of Kumar.  It doesn't take us long to become attached to our pets.  Hope you had a great, but probably tiring, day with the great grands.

Hi Pat.

Jeanne, hope the ice didn't stick around and you were able to keep your doctor's appointment.

Marilyn

Al it is so good to see you here this morning, please tell us all abut your surroundings and if possible take a few photos to share. What part of Texas are you in?

Larry I come here every day sometimes just to check and see \how Stacy and beth are doing and don't post anything. But please both you and Janet know I am praying for your girls.

Judy I know that you are happy that john will be home today.

I am almost afraid to say this for fear of jinxing myself but since I started the antibiotics, my back hasn't hurt once!!  Wouldn't that be wonderful?

I am so much better today.  I got a great night's rest with no wheezing and coughing!  Life is good!!

I think that Ivalou's daughter is here from Ohio.  The car is gone now so maybe she took Ivalou to Walmart for groceries!

It is cloudy and yucky looking outside.  The neighbor put up his flag again and it is blowing straight east!  It's chilly...only 46°.  Staying in today!

Glad to see that Al is in the Lone Star State.  Yes, tell us where you are!

Sorry about Janet's dog.  We sure get attached to our fur friends.

And sorry that Stacey is still having so much pain.  Is this expected or not?

Anxious to see how Noreen is doing.  Like so many, I may not mention names but you are in my prayers every day!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends, it's Ruth Ann here. These have been really busy days, spent with my son the trucker, my son who is disabled, talking on the phone with other family members, so several days I didn't even sit down at the computer.

Sorry to miss all the happenings. Am so sorry that these serious illnesses and surgeries have come upon us. Yes, I'll be praying for them.

Just know I love all of y'all, and take every comment and hold it close to my heart and pray as needed.

Love to y'all, and most of all, love for our Lord,
Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

happy note it was today 50yrs ago that Mel and I were married yes we are
still together.  No party but we the family are going to the Mandarin for dinner. If you want to help us celebrate go to your local Mandarin and remember us while dining .
