Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Larry, I'm surprised Stacey will be leaving the rehab so soon.  But they must feel she's capable of taking care of herself.

Yesterday was a beautiful April day and today we're back to early March.  Even with lots of sun it will be staying quite cool - maybe reach 50 this afternoon.

Janet, you've tired me out.  I may need to go take a nap.   ;D

My 'baby' was 52 in January.

Well, our Sunday evening Small Group and our Wednesday Night Live study group is over for the season.  What will I do with all this extra time?  I imagine I will fill it up...even if it is mowing the grass!

Today Ivalou and I are going to the salon.  She is getting a perm and I am getting a hair cut.  Our beautician had the same shoulder surgery as Ivalou in January.  Hope she isn't over doing things.  She has always been slow but very precise.  We may spend the whole afternoon at the salon!

It is bright and sunny today with some clouds in the sky.  There is a gentle breeze from the west and 47°.  I am sure it will rise but still it isn't near as warm as April 25th should be!  One farmer last night said this time last year was very unusual in that he had all his crops planted by now.  This year is unusual in that he hasn't started planting yet.  I have noticed that our below freezing did a number on my dandelions!!

Well the snow is gradually melting.  We wound up with about 6 - 8 inches of wet snow.  This IS supposed to be spring!

I am really discouraged with a program I am supposed to have for the course I am taking.  The tech for the program are anything but helpful.  So 3 days lost and I have a new assignment to do.  I will be away 3 days so my time to get this assignment is down 6 out of 12 days..... This didn't come to stay it came to pass....I need to remember this!.

Time to sing.

"I will ask the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter." John 14:16

The Comforter Has Come
(Click to hear music)

O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;
Let ev'ry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav'n, the Father's promise giv'n;
O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found—
The Comforter has come!

The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last,
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o'er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To ev'ry captive soul a full deliverance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

O boundless love divine! How shall this tongue of mine
To wond'ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

Janet:  Sent you an email.  Turkey - I would love to go.  We have been searching for a decent price for anything to the Holy Land.  Our church is going but the price is way too much.

  Meanwhile, we are going to Minnesota.... and that will have to do for this year.  We do love to go and see so many friends and relatives.

If I sound tired, it is because so much going on here.  Taking down blinds today & washing everything because tomorrow morning the new blinds will be installed.  Can't wait.  Book club yesterday here and  no one called so I expected 8 at most.  12 showed - we were packed.  One gal helped me dish up the desserts.  Most everyone had two desserts with ice cream and the cool whip.

Hi everyone on a breezy, sunny and generally nice day here in Georgia.  It has been a full morning as after coffee a good friend came by to work with me for an hour.  Pat is attending a meeting this morning an expect she will go on out to lunch with friends.  Other than read the message boards I have nothing pressing the rest of the day.  Stacey did leave rehab yesterday and Pat talked with her this morning and she made it through the night OK by herself.  The height of her bed had been a concern but she said she had no difficulty getting into or out of it.  Hopefully she can have some time now of healing and enjoying being back in her own home.

Jeanne, we were also surprised when Stacey said she was leaving rehab this week.  Fortunately she does have a nice handicapped equipped apartment and as you saw above she got through the first night OK.

Etta Sue, your Small Group and Wednesday Night Live study group have broken up for the summer pretty early.  I know you will miss them. I doubt that you will miss the dandelions and perhaps they will pay you a second visit.

Judy, just relax and remember things will get done on your course when they are suppose to.  It is too bad that often things don't come about as they are advertised.

Carol, I am not sure our house could accommodate twelve folks in one room but guess we probably could if we had to.  No wonder you were tired yesterday.

Well, it took the lady 3 hours to give Ivalou a perm!  There are two ladies in the salon, both named Sandy.  Sandy J said she forgot to write me down with Ivalou and she has another lady coming that was on vacation last week but she would work me in.  Sandy S was done with a client and swept up then sitting in the chair watching a Soap.  So I said, it is silly for me to sit here and Sandy having to work me in later when Sandy could be cutting my hair.  So Sandy S washed and cut my hair.  I really like her better but how do you change when they both work in the same place?? ??

Then Ivalou and I went to China Buffet for supper/dinner.  Hoosiers have dinner and supper where some others have lunch and dinner!   ::)  I sometimes say lunch so others will know it is a noon time meal.

Today is laundry day and then I am going to prepare plastic bags to crochet a new purse.  After they are cut in loops, I can connect the loops and roll into balls while watching TV.  Then I am ready to crochet!

I thought we had a forum for knitting and crochet on CP but I can't find it.  I looked everywhere for how to cut the plastic and finally found the instructions but not on here.

It is cloudy and overcast today but the temps are to be higher.  It's about time!!  :clobber:

Larry you are  so nice to respond to everyone's post, I was beginning to feel invisible again. I know my posts aren't every day but I do come to read a few times a day so I can at least keep up with everyone's activities.

Etta Sue I think you were the one who originally posted on how to cut the plastic bags. So you are making another purse, Pictures please. I have a shrug on my circular knitting needles, but I haven't worked on it for awhile sometime evening I will shut off my computer and knit a couple of rows. I need to do that more often. I am in  3 stationery groups and another PSP group so I keep pretty busy making graphics and putting together stationery.

Hello Carol I would love to take a trip to the Holy Land but i doubt if I will ever get to go. I also want to go on an Alaskan Cruise, but i don't think that is in  the near future either. I have two grandsons and their families now living in Aurora, CO. Wesley is the manager at Hydraulic Controls in Denver, he transferred there from Stockton Ca.  where his father is the manager. (My son Roger).

Pat if you see this, I now have windows 8 and every time I  turn on my computer that photo of you in the parking lot at Benny's pops up.

THE BIBLE STANDS
(Click title for music)

The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
'Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.

Refrain
The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands.

The Bible stands like a mountain towering
Far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.

Refrain

The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.

Refrain

The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it,
And to prove and to make it mine.

Refrain

Another cold day and I am going to head down and light the fire get some warmth going here.

We are heading out tomorrow afternoon, there is a Carman concert we are going to.  I am looking forward to seeing Heather!

Enough for today, I have a lot to accomplish!

Carol

Don is taking a walk while the blinds are being installed.  Somehow, I have felt so tired the last few months whenever there is a lot of physical work here.  Must be age catching up.  Afternoon naps are almost drop down musts.

Marilyn: I lived in Aurora when I was single & had been transferred there for work with an airline.  Don goes there for the VA hospital.  It is about a half hour to get there from our place unless there is traffic.  We call it NE because it is east of the Interstate 25 which goes north and south.  Glad that your grandson has a job - lots of CA people have been moving here.

JudyB:  sorry about your class not being what was intended.  But - so glad that you are going to see Heather.  I hope the visit helps you too.

I had a leftover chicken carcass so it was thrown in a pot , simmered with onions, garlic and so forth then refrigerated so today it will be a chicken soup in the crock pot.  Almost like a free meal  - at least a very inexpensive soup.

Reading about the neglected survivors in West, Texas.  Very little money donated to them while a lot has been sent to Boston.  We have always liked that little town and had very good Chech food - near where a daughter went to grad school.  I hope the donations pick up.

My knitting at present has been off and on for this 2nd. year - it is a sweater/coat.  Never will do anything like this again in my life, I promise!  The knitting forum is on Seniors & Friends.

Janet

Good to read that Stacey is out of rehab and back home; Judy is going to hear Carman and see Heather; Carol and Don will have some yummy chicken soup for supper; Etta Sue is about to make another bag; and Marilyn is thinking of places she would like to go!

Carol, I sure know what you mean about those afternoon naps!  I don't want to do it, but almost cannot make it through the day without a nap!  I hope I don't get too worn out on this trip!  I wonder if this will be the last really strenuous one we will take.  I really want to go to the Holy Land, too, and wonder why the prices are so much higher for that than for others comparable in distance, etc.  And Cuba is just outrageous--especially for being only 90 miles from the US mainland!

I am going to my high school reunion tomorrow night.  My sister Jeanie is going with me, and our eldest sister Doris is also going.  It is 60 years for her!  (How come she is so much older than me??)  ;)

My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

I have one row of crocodile 'scales' and started the second row of my purse.  Plastic is harder to work with since it doesn't slide on the needle as easy and it's hot to work with.  There are 9 rows of 'scales' so it will be awhile before I am done.  I don't like the pattern's instructions.  The rows stagger so the second row should be half a scale at the beginning so I slip stitched to where I could complete a scale.  Oh, well!  Just like PSP, sometimes you have to do your own thing to get the end results.

Parker is mowing Ivalou's yard.  I maybe should but I think I will wait until Monday.  I can mow, take a shower and be ready for Kitty to take me to get my Botox injections.  Sounds like a plan.

It is partly cloudy today with little to no breeze.  The high is to get to 67°.  Maybe spring will get here after all.

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone on an overcast where we are awaiting the arrival of some rain that has been predicted all day long.  I left the house before 8 am and didn't get home until after 2:30.  Today was an annual celebration in our district of Al-Anon and we had an awesome day with good fellowship, workshops, food and speakers.  I really enjoyed seeing a lot of friends but was really tired when I got home.  However, a short nap refreshed me so now trying to catch up on the message boards.

Etta Sue, today at the Celebration during the raffle one of the ladies at our table won one of those handbags made of plastic bags.  I would never have known it if they hadn't said what it was.

Marilyn, no one is invisible to me on the forum although don't always have something to say to an individual since that depends on what they have posted.  That is why my postings often get so long.

Judy, isn't Carman a pianist or am I mixing him up with someone else?

Carol, I can relate to your feeling tired when things have to be done even if I am not doing them.  The thought of someday having to breakup our household is getting more overwhelming each year.  So I try not to think about it as it isn't going to be done today.  I probably mentioned this but a friend from my choir had her home destroyed in that terrible explosion but fortunately they were in North Carolina but the last I heard they hadn't even been allowed back into the area to see if anything remained.

Janet, hope you have or had a great time at your highschool reunion.  Nothing wrong with taking a nap when you need it as your body is speaking to you.

Etta Sue, everyone must be busy today as only you and I have posted today.

Gord Brown

 :)  Well here I am .  I am sorry that I have not been here to give you all wonderful praying friends a report how Noreen is coming along.  Well she did get her stitches out and then she still does her own physio at home but from now on she will be having physio at least three times a week at the hospital and that is covered by our government plan so no cost to us. :thumbsup:

We are so thankful for your prayers and to see the power that it does in the healing it will be a slow process and a lot of pain but the Lord will get her through it. :)

We are so greatfull to the ladies from the Woman's Connection which used to be called Christian Woman's Club as they have supplied us with a lot of meals and lots of beautiful flowers to so that has made Noreen very happy. :)

I have had a lot of problems with my left hip as I have more than likely inherited some arthritis from my Mother and the last two weeks has been terrible but again with prayer I will get through this. :coffee:

Larry;  I do hope that Tracey will get better and be able to stay in her own place. It must be such a pain to have to be going to the hospital so often. She will be remembered by this group.

Well I must go and again thank you all for the prayers.  Tomorrow I drive about 2 and half hours for the Choir that I sing in for our concert up in Barrie Ontario and we sing about 12 gospel songs and also have a lot of laughs and just wonderful Christian fellowship so it is a great day. Pray for safety on the busy highway.    God's richest blessings.   Gordon and Noreen. :angel2: :bible: :blues: :sidedance: :cp: :pine: :bananadance: :rocker:
