JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi everyone.  The sun is peeping over the trees and it is chilly this morning.  I did not feel up to going to coffee this morning so will stay home all day and continue to rest.  Just moving about leaves me short of breath and tired.  I seem to have pretty much lost my appetite again. It is what it is. Pat will be gone awhile midday.

John, fortunately Pat handled all of the Christmas preparations.  I did go to the jewelry store to buy her a new Bulova watch as she has never had a really nice wristwatch.  It is nice that you and Judy were able to enjoy a quiet Christmas of just being together.

Janet, so sorry to hear that Beth seems to be failing more.  Believe me I understand your concerns for her as we feel the same way about Stacey.  The doctor has arranged for her to have hospice care in terms of daily living. This is due to her heart and not her amputated limb.  What else can we do but turn these concerns over to God as our hours of worry do not one thing to change the situations.  What can be more enjoyable than seeing the little ones and their excitement.  I have to say seeing our four great grandchildren opening their packages via the multiple short videos sure made my day complete on Christmas day.

Pat, glad you were able to have Christmas with your daughter but you really stayed out late! :)

Jeanne, how nice that your church remembered you with the poinsettia.

Well we are having nice weather here today. The sun is shining brightly and the temp has come up considerably. Suppose to be that way for tomorrow as well which is good as we are travelling to our daughters in London for another  Christmas gathering. That will be about a 6 hour drive one way. I know, not much of an issue for a guy like me who drives for a living. Will have to go on a diet after all this. Just to much of the good stuff. Hope everyone is surviving all this good food and festivities okay. Not much going on here on CP but that is understandable as this is a busy time of year. When we look out our windows it sure gives meaning to that song "Its a marshmellow world in the winter". Well going to run for now. Things to do. Better get them done before Judy fires me. Don't want to be unemployed. Blessings everyone.
Phil. 1: 21. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.

John and Judy, I hope you have a pleasant trip to your daughter's for your second Christmas celebration of the season!

When I went to see Beth and John yesterday, Beth was doing so much better!!  Thank you all for the prayers for her!  Maybe she was just especially tired on Christmas day.

Larry, I do hope you're feeling better by now.  I am so glad you know your limits and rest when needed.  And I know a little about how you and Pat feel about Stacey.  Life is hard sometimes.

There is some kind of mix-up about my two little prescriptions, and they say there is "missing information" which the doctor will have to call about before they will send the pills.  And both doctors are out of town.I have two days worth left.....that's the reason I went in to see the Dr. on the 17th!  Oh, well...in my small town, if worse comes to worst, I can take my bottles in and the Pharmacist will probably sell me a few days'  worth to tide me over till the doctors get home.  (I hope!)

I took some of my few Christmas things down today.  Still need to go sort through my clothes closet and get rid of things I no longer wear, to make room for the new things my sweet husband got me for Christmas!

It is a beautiful, and WARM day here in Kansas, for December 27th!

Not the usual Christmas this year. On Christmas day we went and picked my father in law from the hospital where he had been for 2 nights. This time it was not his headaches, or shortness of breath, but some other issues. Actually his headaches have decreased considerably since his sinus surgery, and he's been able to cut way back on his pain medication.  :)
So after a bunch of running around we came back later and had Christmas dinner with them at their house.  One of Betty's sisters can her family came over later and we all played  dominos for a while. Then we had to leave so we could go home and feed the dog and go to bed , because we both had to work the day after Christmas.

Hi, friends,

I spent the day after Christmas recovering from a stomach virus. However, things are much better today. :)

Thank you so much for recounting the celebrations in each of your areas. The temperature here reached 51 degrees F and will only fall to a bit lower than freezing. So, I had lots to be thankful for as I went to the store today.

May our Lord be with each of us the remainder of this day.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  It is a chilly morning here in Georgia with rain to start late this afternoon and then rain a lot tomorrow.  I did go to coffee at McDonald's this morning as hadn't been out of the house for two days. Nothing else on the schedule for today other than to watch from football bowl games as there are several on today.

John, something tells me that Judy isn't going to fire you.  :)  Glad it is warmer up your way.  A six hour trip sounds overwhelming to me at this point but glad you will be with your daughter.

Janet, glad you found Beth doing much better yesterday.  I can sure understand Christmas tiring her out as I have felt the same way since getting home from Stacey's on Christmas.  This morning I am still very short of breath but so far the sick feeling hasn't returned.  I hope to feel like eating today as sure haven't the last couple of days.  I know the pharmacist at Kaiser and also Kroger will give you a three day supply and take them out of your next prescription.

Smokey, you did have an unusual Christmas but it sounds like you still had a nice time with family.  Glad your father-in-laws headaches are much better.

Ruth Ann, not good to have a stomach flu anytime but especially at the holiday season.

Janet

It is cool here now but is to warm up by afternoon.  No moisture in sight, and turning colder again tomorrow, so they say.

Larry, glad you were up to going to McDonald's this morning, as I know you enjoy that social time with your friends.  Hope your appetite returns, too.  Could I please give you half of mine?  ;)  I certainly would be happy to do that!

Ruth Ann, glad your virus is gone, and hope you will feel well now.

Grandson Mark came up to borrow a drill press.  He is working on one of the car washes for his dad.  It's always a treat to see Mark, but he won't likely linger long today.  We plan to go to Hugoton for church tomorrow, as our church is not having services.  Pastor said to spend the time with our families, visit another church or whatever we want.

I get my hair done today!  Yea!!  It's been looking not too great while Pat has been in Texas.  In fact, when Abby saw me the first time in Wichita, her first question was, "What happened to your hair?"   :-\  So I will be really happy for the "repair."

Must visit with Mark another minute or two.  He has gotten the drill press loaded and I hear his car out front again!

Hey as you all know I have been a bit lazy. Yes we had that wonderful ice storm and no hydro for a couple of days, man oh man was it cold. We still have lots of ice with the news that wind is on its way which could cause more damage.

Now it is time to prepare for the start of another Year.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Hi, friends,

This afternoon I tried using the shoe plus the brace instead of brace plus the boot. Feels strange to be stepping like a normal person again!!

It was cool today, and now has begun raining. I felt better enough to go get grilled fish this afternoon. That's the only food that appealed to me.

Well, not too much to discuss this evening.

Y'all have a wonderful rest of the day with our Lord.

So far the ice and the loss of power have missed us but just a little way north of us I think some folks still out of power.   I guess this must be global warming, right?   ;D

Janet

Right, Jeanne!  Global warming!

We are going to My Father's House for church in the morning, so I called Diane and asked if I could prepare something for dinner (lunch to you city types!  ;))  So now I have turkey enchiladas in the oven.  We had about half a turkey left from Wednesday; good to use it up!

It was SO nice and warm here today, didn't even need our coats.  But....."they" say tomorrow it's back into the freezer!

Ruth, it's sure nice to see your smiling face today!  Come in more often, will you...PLEASE?   :)

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Jeanne right global warming, Did anyone notify All Gore about that ship being stuck in the ice?

Nothing much new here.  Took care of a few errands today, Walmart and Walgreen's.  My washer conked out  but didn't know it until I tried to do a small load of Keith's underwear and T shirts  yesterday it wouldn't drain or spin. The repairman will be coming out on Monday, So I will be going to work around noon instead of at 9:30. I hope it can be repaired and not have to buy a new one, washers are expensive, (I almost typed worshers spelling it the way I say it  :uglystupid: )

Hi everyone.  It had been predicted this was going to be a very rainy day but the sky, while overcast, is looking bright and the forecast is now putting rain chances at 40%.  I am not up to going to church today and Pat is staying home as well.  Just more the same old that I have been having since Christmas.  I managed to eat a few bites of dinner last night and a light breakfast this morning.

Ruth, sorry to read of your loss of power and hope the wind doesn't do more damage.  Do you have any alternate forms of heating?

Ruth Ann, sounds like your foot is making progress.

Jeanne, I am afraid this global warming is going to freeze us.  Hope you can continue to stay warm.

Janet, I bet your turkey enchiladas are tasty.

Marilyn, I hope your washer can be fixed.  You are right that appliances are very expensive now.
