JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Albena Bulgaria, and this is the microlite that Margery had a flight in, it was parked on a road the owner had painted a white line down to serve as a runway, I loved the way the sun was shining through the fabric, of the wings making them glow. That's Cyrillic script, as I can't read Bulgarian, I'm hoping that this is the right way round.

I believe this was a favourite trick of detergent manufacturers to show their product could wash whiter than white, whilst brand X looked well just white by comparison, this ws because, they showed brand X's washing with frontal light, rather than contre jour, or back lighting.

Nice shot.  IT would be interesting to know what the words are on the fabric!

On the near wing it says Albena, the resort where we stayed, I've just had a look myself, and the letters translated do make Albena, wonderful place. There was a restaurant there, every time we went past, "Come in my friends and try our kebab." Log fire in the corner, tree growing through the roof, in Bulgaria they build around a tree not chop it down, now the kebab. If you want what we in the west call a kebab, you must ask for meat on a skewer, a kebab is different, it consists of meat, vegetables and potatoes, stewed with a crust on top, with cheese under the crust. In Lancashire, we call it a Lancashire hotpot, delicious.
Now there was another restaurant we also frequented, they had a Russian band, and one of the musicians had a zymbalom, or hammet dulcimer, one night we got him to play it for us, what a wonderful sound, try listening to the Harry Janosh suite by Zoltan Kodaly, you will hear one there. The wonderful thing about this restaurant was, the entrance looked like you were entering an underground loo, and you almost expected the smell of it, but as you took a corner and walked along a passage, the place was like a museum of Bulgarian culture and folklore. set with tables and good food. One of the musicians would come up to the table and play the violin in Margery's ear, just like on the old movies, romantic to say the least.
