Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Came down off the platform at Salford central station, saw this wonderful brick tunnel between platforms, when we got outside I found the picture, Evening Papers, bits and pieces. Manchester just seems to throw things up at you wherever you go. Hand held, 1/30sec F4, I think.

For handheld that slow you don't have a whole lot of camera shake.  It is quite an interesting spot...could you go back with a tripod so you wouldn't have to worry at all?  I like it and you did great in spotting it.

Its a Leica M6 rangefinder I used here, no mirror slap, quiet shutter travel, heavy for 35mm, so a lot of inertia, helps keep camera shake to a minimum, as soon as I got into this tunnel I was attracted by the floor lights, and I think anybody with a camera would see the potential for a picture here. The subject here is a Victorian brick underpass, cleaned and given a modern setting, that is both restful and visually exciting. Of course using such a wide open aperture, did I say F4? Not everything is going to be in sharp focus, so you will obviously have some softness in the picture, and with a subject as restful as this some softness helps the mood along, I only wish there could have been a settee, and a table, and a bed down there, to add to the mood.

Barbarian

A great composition, the repetitive elements take the eye to the center of the picture.  It would have been even better, if you had been able to catch a single person, walking away, outlined by the bright background.

I think also, a bit more contrast would shapen up the shadows and make it better.

Would you mind if I played with it a bit?

OK, I see what Barbarian is saying.

I do like the shot though.  You really have an "eye" for unusual shots.  Good work!
