I'm Liz Marr, from Coos Bay, Oregon. I have been married for over twenty years and have dogs and horses as pets. My husband is a paramedic and currenty serving as a civilian instructor in Bahrain. He's going to be there for at least three years so I'm missing him terribly. I'm a semi-pro digital photographer. I have to call myself "pro" because I use the photos that I shoot for the web sites that I build and since I charge to build the web sites, that makes me a "pro" 

I've been a member of a site called "DP Challenge" http://www.dpchallenge.com for a year or so but decided that I really wanted to see a web site that was for CHRISTIAN photographers. DP Challenge is definately secular. Before I went and created my own site, a web search discovered this one and here I am!

I'm glad to see that there are contests posted on this board. One of the fun things about DP Challenge is the contests, so if I was going to create a simular site it would have to have contests as well.  One that I thought would be fun would be to post a scripture verse and then see what photos people had to "fit" the verse.

My other hobbies are horses (training, dressage, driving) dogs (Belgian Tervuren, Search & Rescue, mushing) and motorcycles (my husband and I are members of CMA) If anyone wants to chat about digital photography, web design, or Jesus, feel free to write me!

As for "contests", they really aren't.  We have a couple of challenges that run but we don't have voting like DPC.  I haven't got the software to do that.

So we just suggest a challenge and people can put in as many photos as they wish to do with that challenge.

But I hope that this won't deter you in any way in posting on CP (as we affectionately call this site).  We're so happy to see new folks here.

HI Liz!  You got some pretty good ideas about the challenges.  Sounds like fun.  The moderators will have to talk about this.
