Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I have been lurking here for a while but now is the time to say Hi.
My name is Lance and I am a photographer based out of Des Moines, IA.

I am just about to go live and full-force with my photo business.
Please check out my website at www.lanceshuey.com
Be free to be honest about anything that you feel might need to be changed.

Thanks :)

Hi Lance!

Great to see you and it was nice to see your photos.

I have a couple of comments about your website if I may...

1.  When I click on the link even if my browser is maximised, I still have to scroll to see the text on the right completely.

2.  I wonder if it would be a good idea for prospective clients to see some of your work before seeing your prices?  Your prices might be good on a separate file with a clickable to that file.

3.  I wonder if your entrance page (the page with the policeman) should have a slightly smaller photo?  I usually work with my browser windows slightly minimized so that I have a margin around them and I didn't even see the text until I maximized the window.

Just some ideas.

Might also be nice to have maybe not stark black but a very dark grey and a slightly creamy font instead of pure white?  You might like to try Verdana font too as it's a nice easy to read one.

Nice start Lance.  I'll watch as your business grows in the coming days.

Hope you come over to the New Every Morning and get to know the group here.

Pat

Updated.

Halliday, What a great front page now!  I really, really like that!  That causes me to have some real interest to go further now into your site.

Great job!

I really like what I see on your website.  I'm neither an artist nor a photographer, but I love what you have done.  Keep up the good work and best wishes in your endeavor.

For some reason I'm getting the old website, Lance.  Pat, gave you really good advice.  The page I found from your link seems sort of cold to me.  Not really inviting at all.

I wonder why I'm not finding the updated site?  Am I missing a link.  I'd love to see it.

Halliday

Thanks for the comments.
I had the idea of the old frontpage back when I had a different intent. I think it works better now for my current "family portrait" direction.

Displaying the old website:
Try refreshing the site. Your probally have the old files and your browser is using that to load "faster" but not seeing the new content.

Pat

Yes, Nita, use CTRL-F5 to force a complete refresh.

See if that works.

Sorry to bother you all again, but I just did a major update using my smugmug account. If anyone can take a look again that would be great.

Pat

Hi Halliday...

I've taken a look.

I guess I go back to my original post or shortly after that where I mentioned that it's always good (at least for me) to see the person's photography BEFORE seeing the prices.  I think that the prices should be on a separate page with a clickable to it.  But that's just me.  I like to browse and if the person's photography sparks an interest for me, then I look at their prices.

But I wish you well.  I really do and maybe some others here will have some comments.    I really like your work.

I understand and that's something I'm working on. My knowledge of html and website is growing. I'd like to have the prices linked to a seperate page but right now I can't figure out how to do it. So that will be an ongoing project.
