I'm fairly new to photography.  I've been married for 22 years and have two grown children.  We owned a home daycare for 13 years and during the last year or so of it, I wanted to learn to take better photos.  I was hooked!  We closed the daycare last fall because, frankly, 13 years of changing diapers is enough.  We worked for a small company putting on assemblies for schools, but was recently laid-off   :o. 

I have a Canon PowerShot SX30IS.  I dream of having a DSLR someday and want to learn to use the manual settings.  I take photos of everything from plants to kids to pets.  What really got me started was "The Daily Shoot".  Sadly, it's closed, but I am revisiting their assignments randomly.  It keeps me on my photographic toes.
