Title: <<< Digital Art Challenge #2 >>>
Post by: Jim on February 22, 2005, 11:56:51 AM
Weekly challenge #2 here.

It looks like I get to post the next challenge, so here goes!

Everybody who wants to get into the challenge can copy the image take it to photoshop and doctor it up to the point where they think it will be better than everybody else's.  It would be nice if you would tell us the steps you took, if you can remember!

Once we have 7 entries you cannot get involved into the competition but you can still post your image for fun.  When we have 7 entries we will have a poll with with seven answers each answer is the name of one of the participants.  The winner will get to post their a pic of their choice for the next competition.  Am I clear here?  If you have any questions just post it here.

Good Luck!  8)

Jim I think we should stickto 4 or 5 entries for now.   I would love to do 7 but it might take a while.  Lets do 5 entries this time and then we will try to move up to 7 or even more.

Wish the photo were larger:

              The Tongue
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10260%2Fchal2girl.jpg&hash=eb0e10a7882ec93642ba62e6841c5c776c355e7a)

Steps:
Selected background, burned the background to black.
Deselected
Levels adjustment
Selected the tongue, inverted selection, used channel mixer to make monochrome.
Inverted selection again, copied the green on tongue several times and smudged to enhance green color.
Deselected
Cloned out other things on table
Cropped out excess on top, then resized it back up to 400 pixels

I think that's about it.

I don't have Photoshop but  do use PSP 8 and PSP 9. For this effect I used PSP9. First I did a One step photo fix, Then I sharpened the image. Then I used Zero soft mood filter.Sharpened again. Put on a border of 10 in the hot pink and did a inner bevel, added another border of 15 and flood filled with the pattern.Did another inner bevel and sharpened again.

over already??  I guess I'm too late?  I just found the new challenge tonight.  That's ok.  If I don't get it in in time, I can still do it for fun.

well, that'll teach me to say anything.  I had company last night after I posted, and was too tired to get anything I liked when I tried later.

I'll just be happy voting for now.

Nita, you were linking to the Web Page where the photo was instead of the photo itself.

Go to the photo itself (the intermediate sized one) and RIGHT click on top of it and then click on Properties and highlight the URL or Address.  That's what you use in here to post the photo.

Hope this isn't too confusing.
