JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

There is little that I can add to what has been said.  Only that I am praying for you.  When I become worried or afraid, I always hold on to Ps. 46:10.  'Be Still And Know That I Am God.'

God Bless,

Liz

Bob, I add my prayers for our Lord to send his Comforter to be near and dear to you during this time of uneasiness, illness, and possibly fear. Rest assured, his underlying arms are right beneath you to hold you up during this time.

    Bob,
I am praying for you also.  A scripture verse that comes to mind for me is Isaiah 46:4.
God bless you,
Rob.
"Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
       I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

I either didn't know you were from Carmel or I had forgotten.  I may be in Carmel today.  My friend and I are doing women things today...just getting out and going...we don't know where.

But IU is a great place to be for treatments for cancer or anything else for that matter.  God be with you in all you do!

JudyB

I am continuing to pray for you that you may feel the everlasting arms about you.  Know that we here at CP are praying for you.  God Bless Brother.

Please keep us updated about your journey.

Pat

Good Morning Bob!

I've been praying for you today so just came in here in case you read this topic, just to let you know.

I was reading my little Daily Light last evening and the last part of Psalm 61:2 really stood out to me and I decided to share it with you.

Hi  All,
A wonderful thing happened to my wife and I on Thursday after the "big" snow. We live in an apartment and park our car in front on the street. Since I have a broken wrist I am not much help when it comes to shoveling snow or getting all the snow off the car. The management plows the street but can't get in between the parked cars. Our maintenance man (  who had asked me to shoot some pics of his son playing soccer last year ) came by and offered to " unbury" our car for us. He knew about my chemo appointment on Feb 2nd . When he was finished I thanked him and he said " I am a Christian - I have a strong faith - anytime you or your wife need help call me.
My chemo will take 4hrs and any side effects will show up within 24 hours. I will let you all know Tuesday how my chemo went.
Again all your love and prayers  will be with me.

My humble thanks,
Bob Traber  <3

Thanks Pat,
My oncologist says I shouldn't be feeling as good a I do. But I feel really good. I know it's all the prayers and Gods love. Most of my discomfort right now is from my wrist which is healing well.

I am praying everyday that God will touch your life yet once again!!
Why not?  He is a Healing God who keeps his Promises.
Bless you brother as you go through Chemo. May your life be touched and my God use you to touch others lives as well.

Job:11:18 You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look above you and take your rest in safety.

Isn't it amazing how God sends his Comforter to us to lift us up. Good things seem to happen when we seek, trust, pray, and believe - and, of course, live our faith.  :)

God bless you as you go through these trials.

Hi.  Just a note here.   (For me, I believe this is important).  When battling any illness at all, I believe that our mind has a great ability to help our body get well, stay well, etc.

There is such a strong song..that is a positive, hopeful, Christian "push", and does give a person strength...

Song is called :  LAZARUS..... by Carman

I don't have a link here..but this song is so very cool, and very helpful to anyone who might be experiencing illness of any kind.    Carman brings you right back into history and sings/talks about the strength of faith etc...

It is one of my favorites.  (For me, sometimes singing or listening to songs is my own brand of praying.  There's something about connecting with God with music, songs or lyrical words; it is different but it is a strong connection).

Posting this message in a hopefully, helpful manner.

I would appreciate your prayers.  I have been sucessfully battling stage 4 cancer since 2006. I had finished all my chemo, radiation and surgeries and been declared "in remission". The Lord gave me many months of remission and then they found cancer spots on each lung and my liver. Again the Lord was with me and they were dormant. Now the "spots" have become agressive and are growing. I was headed back into chemo but had to delay it as I fell and broke my wrist. I had to get my wrist in a cast first and now I will have my first chemo session tomorrow. Your prayers and Gods love will see me through this. I read something a few days ago that I would like to share.
" I have held many things in my hands and lost them all;
but whatever I have placed in Gods hands, that I still posses.

Hi  All,
I wanted to let you all know my first chemo session went well. It was a 4 hour infusion and all your words and well wishes sustained me , along with my wife
( who I think is really an angel ). Usually the severe effects of this type of chemo happen within the first few days. I had none of these side effects so far and feel really good today. I only have this infusion every other week - so I have plenty of time to recuperate from it's effects.
I feel this is a spiritual journey of sorts for me. I have always thought of  myself as a good christian but am realizing that The words "thy Will Be Done " are about knowing that prayers are answered but in His time and according to His plan for us.. I can only continue to thank you all. What a wonderful community of Christians you are; I am humbled and privileged to belong.

My Humble Thanks,

Bob Traber <3

ps Theres alot of great photography in this community also.

Hey Bob.  Was thinking of and praying for you today.  I know God answers prayer, in His timing and for us mortals that sometimes seems to be forever in coming.  Read Habbakuk about how God says not yet.  Interesting book.

You're being prayed for down here in Tennessee, too!

Hi Pat,
It's taken about a week + ( after chemo ) but my energy is returning and my appetite is coming back also. Hopefully the chemo sessions aren't going to be cumulative in their side effects. My next chemo is Feb 16th, so I am looking forward to feeling good in the "off" week.
My wrist is healing well - today the Doc said the cast has to stay on for 3 more weeks - for a total of 8 weeks. I always thought I did well typing on the computer with one hand but twice I have accidentally bumped (a key ? maybe the ctrl key? )and sent an email out while I was still typing.
I can't use my DSLR with one hand so I had to buy a new battery for my Canon Powershot so I can start taking some pictures again.
I have to remind myself that this is the effects of the chemo - not the cancer - that is affecting me.
Thanks for your post,

Bob Traber <3

Our Heavenly Father,

Thank you for seeing him through his first chemo treatment - now, as he approaches the second tomorrow, please send your Comforter to hover nearby during administration of the chemo and, then if it please You, please ask the Comforter to remain with him constantly as he begins his recovery from this treatment.

We thank You for your plans for each of us, since we know Your plans are perfect. May Your will be done with each of us daily we pray

In Thy Son's Dear Name,

Amen

DEAREST FRIENDS,

You don't know me and I don't know you but you all will always be considered true friends.
My name is Lois and I am Bobs' wife (of 48 years) and all of your prayers, love and concern for my husband have truly been an amazing experience.  God must be looking down very pleased from above at each of you and thinking these are My children.  You are true examples of His words  to" Love One Another."  We will never forget it.

Bob came through his second chemo treatment amazingly well!  Our God is an AWESOME GOD.

I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you and pray that God would Bless and Keep each one of us in His care always.
