I am really seeking and praying for direction right now because not one but a couple of really nice opportunities has popped up.  I recently fealt like I was in a rut as far as foward progress.  Me and my wife have been talking very seriously about buying a house and you home-owners know you are not just getting a house when you buy a house.  You are committed to that for a while.  Well shortly after I prayed "God show me where to go and what to do" things are happening.  So I am not just asking for your prayer on this one but also a few nuggets of wisdom from some of you folks.  Thanks so much!!!   

Matt, owning a home come with both joys and a few heartaches as you are responsible for everything that goes wrong.  However, it is nice to be able to do what you want in your home.  Hope things work out for you as you finally determine to be what you want.  I will be praying for you in your decision.

Father, I pray for my brother Matt.  I ask that You will give him just the wisdom he needs and wants from You about buying a home.  Oh Father, lead him in such a way that there will be no doubt, I pray.

  , I am lifting Matt and his wonderful family up to you, Lord you know every hair on our head so we know you know what home we are to live in, Please open up all your blessing on Matt at this time and show him where you want his family to be.

Matt - You're probably already aware of the fact that buying a house is a little like establishing a savings account - you gradually build equity, which can later be used for retirement, emergencies, etc.  So, while you're paying principle and interest, yet that is offset by savings, called equity.  Then, on top of that, you're also enjoying a place for you and your family to build your life, to express our Lord's hospitality, and to care for as stewards of our Lord.  You do incur a financial responsibility, but it is offset many times over by the benefits.  The only thing you have to be certain of before incurring the obligation is that you can, without dangerous difficulty, meet the monthly payments, the insurance payments, and the taxes that will have to be paid.  As one of our Lord's stewards (money managers), you're entrusted with making as sure as possible about these things.

God grant you His wisdom and carefulness is my prayer for you.  Amen.

There is a posibility that I might buy a photography studio in a small town (4000 people or there abouts).  The town is a photography town and they really miss their photographer who died a couple of years ago.  If I move there I would be the only portrait photographer for about 30 miles.  The two photographers that are 30s miles out are either really not (don't mean to be negative) that good or charge an arm and a leg.  It is a golden oportunity for me.  The down fall is that I would be asking my wife to give up her job that she loves so much, she would also be relieved because she would be around our kids.  She does complain quite a bit because she misses her kids growing up because of her job.  I really believe that this is a door that God opened up in a way but I also believe He is not a God of limits and he gives us choices.  I looked at the building that is  up for sale today and I have to say it is real nice and the price is real real good and that is why I am really seeking Gods face on this one.  My prayer is more than just buying a house, it (my prayer) is a complete relocation, and sacrafices. I honestly believe that our family will be richer in the sence of happiness and peace (not money).  I also think that we will have a nice living as well. I have been a portrait photographer for a couple years now so I am not jumping into something blind as far as experience.   
My wife is a regestured nurse and she will not find a job like the one she has now but she will be involved in the lives of our kids.  So I need to know that this is God.  I  need to have a confirmation through the Holy Spirit.  I need you all to pray that God will confirm this path to me.  I should let you know that my wife is an awesome wife and that she sees me as a leader of our household and she will go where I go. 

Matt, that sounds like a wonderful opportunity and living in a small town has many advantages (and some disadvantages).  Since your wife is an RN she certainly has transferrable skills.  I am sure that God will reveal what he want you to do since you seeking his guidance in the steps you take.  I will be praying for you in this decision process. 

Update
We have decided to pass up the opportunity in the small town.  I am a little disapointed but I know that God has something great for us.  Thank you all for praying and the nuggets of wisdom.  Don't stop praying though because me and my wife agree that God is about to do something great in our lives. Thanks!!!

I'm still praying, Matt.  I sort of thought that was a good opportunity for you both but at the same time, you must follow the Lord's leading.
