One more update on this... I saw the orthopedic doctor again today and he cleared me to return to work without restrictions, so I did (took the paper saying I could return to HR, who said I was good to start back today). I'm exhausted now (28,000 steps today, most of which were at work), but it's good to finally be back to work.
