JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Psalm 112

Psalm 111 was a song of worship, but Psalm 112 is a song about a particular worshipper.  It asks the question, what is the man like "who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments?" To hear and repeat this song about such a man would be an excellent way to start the day, because. hopefully, those who do so  would respond, "I want to be that man!  I want to be one of those who fears the Lord and greatly delights in His commandments!"

The blessings of such a man are certainly worthy of consideration.  His descendants, for instance, will be "mighty." They'll be "mighty" because, they're from a righteous family, a trusted and honored family, and they themselves will therefore  be trusted and honored – everyone will support them and honor them.

We're told that wealth and riches will be in this righteous man's house.  The riches may or may not consist of silver and gold, but they will be riches nevertheless.  And we're told that their righteousness "endures forever." It endures because the Lord Who provides it endures.  In fact, for such a man, "there arises a light in the darkness" – he's aware of the Lord's presence and protection even through the night.

Because of his relationship with the Lord, the character of this man is also different - he's "gracious and full of compassion, deals graciously and lends . . . has dispersed abroad, has given to the poor."  And not only does he care for others, but he takes wise care of his own affairs as well.  He deals in everything with wisdom, so that "he will never be shaken."  Finally, he won't be "afraid of evil tidings," because "his heart steadfastly trusts in the Lord . . . until he sees his desire upon his enemies."  Righteousness like that indeed "endures forever," and "his horn will be exalted with honor."

Like the people who originally sang this song, it would be good for us as well to consider daily how to imitate this man who feared the Lord and delighted greatly in His commandments.

"it would be good for us as well to consider daily how to imitate this man who feared the Lord and delighted greatly in His commandments."

Oh, that each of us could be this man!

I pray that I can be.
