Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I was with my two girls recently for the first time ever ... just us three.
Here's Joy (on the left) and Dot with me at the Buchart Gardens

This is just one of the many beautiful begonias in the Garden

And, while in Sacramento, Bryan got to have lunch with his cousins Tricia and Laura.  We all had a good time.

I'm sure you will remember this vacation for a long time.  I can't wait to see more photos!

Larry Hanna

Nice photos Jane.  You have very nice looking daughters and grandchildren.

Al Moak

Jane - we've been twice to Butchart Gardens, and our opinion is like yours - they're beautiful!  In the evening they have a special show, and the restaurant is great too.  Hope you had time for those.  I know you're glad to be back to Coos Bay, but these are memories that'll remain with you.  Besides, now you know more perfectly how to pray for each of them - daughters, son, etc.  And thanks be to God - now you're back in Coos Bay!

I hate to have to tell you, but Joy and Dot are indeed recognizable as being yours!

Marilyn

Thank you for sharing your photos Jane and I know you are so glad to be back where it is cool. I don't even want to go near the Valley in the summer time.

Jane, these are such nice photos, and each time you look at them, they will bring you good memories of the time spent with your kids and grandkids.  I'm so glad you got to make this trip   It is surprising how much the weather makes a difference in having a great trip, a good trip, or a bad trip!  Glad you are home and back with us here on CP.

Hey thanks y'all ... I will (try to) get more photos edited and posted soon.  It was a great trip and so good to be with at least some of my family.  Joy has tons of friends in California and, of course, each wanted a piece of her time.  Then there was Bry who wanted to "hang out" with his mom and me ... he had a couple days off work and wanted to be with us as much as possible.  Add to that the horrendous traffic conditions and the heat (we had air conditioning) and you get the picture.  A lot of trying to fit everything and everyone into just a few daze.  I let Joy do all the driving!  I get flustered when I'm not sure where I'm going, especially in heavy traffic.

Same tilt of the head...same smile...yep, you can tell those two girls are yours!!!

I can only imagine how you feel after being with themand their families.  Soon you will come down from your high and walk touching the floor.

I am so happy for you.

We really enjoyed our tour of Butchart Gardens and the fireworks display on
Saturday night.
Here we are just beginning our walk.  It's a bit shady but it's us none the less!

Thanks, Etta Sue.  I wasn't with Dot's family.  It was just me and my girls in Washington and Victoria B.C. then Joy and I drove to California, where her son Bryan is, and saw my granddaughters (Jean's girls) there.

It was late afternoon when we went to Butchart Gardens because we wanted to be there for the fireworks at dark.  That's the reason there is so much shadow in these pictures.  Of course, there's a lot of shade throughout the gardens anyway.

Liz

Lovely pictures, Jane.  Your daughters are very attractive!
Glad that you all enjoyed the gardens and fireworks.  That is really something, eh?
Had a heat wave after you left.....is there something about you and the weather ??? ???

Liz

Jane Walker

Uh  ... Sorry 'bout that, Liz.  Y'think maybe I just heat things up?   ???

Thanks for the comment re: my daughters.  We really enjoyed the fireworks!!  We all commented that it just kept getting better and grander and, each time, we thought that would be the finale.  What a show!  I don't think any of us had ever witnessed such an extravaganza.

And ... I must thank you for the wonderful weather.  I guess I forgot to turn down the heat when we left, though.   :-\

We stayed in a penthouse apartment, over looking the harbor, while in Victoria ... here is a view through from the kitchen to Dot sitting on the balcony:

We watched the sea plane and harbor ferry make their rounds with tourists:

Okay, Nita ... Here we go.....................
From our room we could see this row of interesting "little buildings" along the wharf.  We took a walk and discovered they are floating homes (we know them as houseboats).

There were many of them but I'll only show you this group.

We went into town and browsed the many shops and malls.  On one street we were impressed with the colorful store fronts:

This is Market Square.  The building houses many shops and booths.  We weren't able to see everything but we sure tried!.

Back out at Butchart Gardens, as we walked along a path, we came to a hedge and noticed a hole in it.

Looking through the "window" we saw a calm little cove with several boats.

There is so much to see and admire at Butchart Gardens
Here's Dot and me gawking at some amazing foliage or other

I love the colors on the store fronts.  And wouldn't it be cool to spend some time on a houseboat?  I wonder if the owners are there year-round, or if they just use them for vacations.

Anyway......beautiful gardens and a lovely tour of the touristy stuff. :)

joyce robson

oh, Janie, lovely pictures of your family and so pleased that you are
sharing your trip with us.

I feel like I am on the trip with you.

So many great photos--keep them coming!!!

Welcome back

Jane Walker

Nita, there were several houseboats for sale.  We walked along the boardwalk and checked them out.  Some are galleries, others offices, etc. But there are many in which people are living.  I'm not sure if it's year round or not.   :-\

Joyce~Thanks for your comments.  I thought I'd give y'all a break for a while, but if you want to see more photos I'll look some up for you.   :D

We spent a lot of time searching through these guide books, that were on the table in our room, before embarking on our tour of the town.

jane.......this trip I have been on this morning with you is absolutely fantastic!!!

Thanks for sharing with us and I especially know just how happy you were having this time with your family.  It's one of those lifetime memories that you will remember forever..and then you have shared with us, too.

The gardens were sooo beautiful and the room where you stayed had a wonderful view.  Like you, I would like to stay on one of the houseboats for awhile just to see how it felt to live on one.

Must go...time for work.

Thanks again, Jane.  Lovely trip and lovely photos!

Here's another view from our balcony in Victoria.  That's another look at the houseboats ... as Dot enjoys a cup of coffee!

Speaking of Dot ... I have never known her to be so happy and free as she was on this trip.  She has just begun to "find herself" after many years in depression and a bad marriage.  Now would you say this looks like someone who has two grandchildren?
 (She is Autumn Rose's grandmother).

Okay ... Equal time!!  Here's Joy.  Her shirt says Friday Harbor.  She's never been there but that's where I was born!   :D
