JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

Morning Devotional...

God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:24

In our worship we honor our heavenly Father for favor bestowed on us through His Son. We join together to sing praises and express adoration by meditation and prayer.

But how does a believer we know--who was born deaf and is now visually impaired--express worship?

Even though he cannot participate in singing or hear the prayers, we see him smiling, gently clapping his hands and with other body motions showing his devotion to the Lord.

God looks on the heart and accepts the precious worship that is there.
--E. Dyck

God our Father, we adore!
We, Thy children, bless Thy name!
Chosen in the Christ before Thee,
we are "holy without blame."
We adore Thee! We adore Thee!
Abba's praises we proclaim!

Good morning!

Another great devotion to fit my little world, Pat.  Thank you!

The kids and I went to the fishing lake yesterday and tried to catch some turtles and frogs.  It was fun.  The boy's actually got in the lake with the nets. I took pictures and the girls and I watched or walked around.  It was a beautiful day and I and Lila Mae got a sunburn.  Note to self~put sunscreen on.

I thought this was cute~Last night Lila Mae wanted some juice so I told her to go to the pantry and get some and as she was digging for her juice she started to sing "Get my juicey" over and over in a sweet tune.  It was so cute to hear her sing like Chandraya and I do.
Very precious moment for me.

The boys have 4 lawm mowing jobs this week.  They will keep them all summer.  They are pretty jazzed because each one of them are paying over $20.00.  They are all elderly people.  They want to start up a business and want mom to make up business cards and fliers for them. :-)

I better go...I need to get Chandraya signed up for kindergarten today.
Have a good day, folks.  I might be back on later.

Good morning!  Welcome, Meghan!

Last night I wrote a long post, addressing each of you, but when I hit post, I got Page cannot be displayed, and lost the whole thing!  :'(  I guess it wasn't important.

Papa John, yes, I do have a big motorcycle, and we also have two mopeds.  We haven't ridden any of them in years!  So I guess we really should sell them.

Etta Sue, I hope you get good results from your scan and Godly wisdom about what you need to do to protect and increase your good health.  God bless!

I got a lot of work done yesterday!  Finished all the framing I had on hand, got out the family reunion newsletter, all the laundry is caught up..........felt good!  But last night was another of those of no sleep, so I'm draggy today.  I forced myself to go swim this morning, anyway.

I'm going to stop and see if this will post this time!

Hi everyone and welcome to Meghan, our 200th member.

If you haven't read Meghan's posting under the Introduction be sure to do so.

Pat, I am not surprised that you were invited by the younger folks.  Glad you were able to go and had such a good time.

Ria, I expect you know this but you will reach some level points in your dieting effort where you won't notice any loss for awhile but stay with it and your weight will continue to go down.

Sonja, your boys will be able to build a nice little summer business as the word gets out that they are available to mow lawns.  At least where we live it is difficult to get young folks to want to do things like this.  It sounds like you all had a great day yesterday being outside.

Janet, very often when I have spent quite a bit of time writing a posting I will quickly copy it and save it temporarily in my text editor (like Wordpad) so that if it doesn't post I won't have lost what I had written.  I don't always remember to do this but it is a good idea.  Even just saving it to your clipboard before hitting the Post button will prevent it being lost.

My test went well yesterday and I should hear in a week or so of the results from a biopsy they did on one area.  I am not anticipating any problem.  Since I hadn't eaten for 24 hours, we stopped at the Golden Corral for an early supper yesterday.  It was very good.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Marilyn

Another Great devotion Pat.

My youngest son Gilbert, who lives next door has been doing lawns and landscaping since he was in middle school. When he moved up her to go to colleage when he was  18 and a junior in college, he continues  to do landscaping for spending money. Even though now he has his own business blowing glass, he still does landscaping.

Hey Nards you outta take Janet up on that Motorcycle and get the wind in your face. Now's the time I thnink Janet would give you a real good deal. I know what you mean about the sound of a Harley.

Etta sue Thank God your tests are over huh? You too Larry and Papa John.

Ria, I  also have a little bit of high cholesterol, I think it may be down quite a lot by now, I have to have more blood work this week to check on it.

Sorry to leave out the rest of y-all, I am ready for work  and need to finish up a couple of thigs around here before I leave.

Hey, if we bought a motorcycle from Janet, does that mean I get to go to Kansas???  Of course, you have to promise to keep the tornadoes away (Etta had to do the same thing last summer).  hehehe

It is sssllllllllooooooooowwwwwwwww at work today, so I am going to try and get a lot of my year end paperwork done before the end of the year slips upon me in two weeks.

Take care!!

Thought for the day -- I forgot it for now, but I'll post it as soon as I remember!

June wrote
QuoteRia, Do you think your son might find consolation and understanding if he would know that his father is still with him through their love for one another ? When our daughter died one of those really bad times came upon me, and I thought..."Susie is suffering because she feels her mothers grief." So I straightened up and acted like a loving mother should for her little girl.
I never thought of it like that but if a loved one has gone, that loved one wouldn't like their loved one to be so sad because they were gone.  We should grieve but then realize that they are in Heaven and someday we will have this huge reunion with all our deceased loved ones.

Al ~ So good to hear you are going to live!  We have missed you.

Nards ~ My brother just sold two scooters.  Big scooters.  Like motorcycles not grown up yet!!!  He has a Gold Wing but it isn't for sale.

Papa John ~ Great to see you posting.  I look forward in reading your green message.

Rachelle ~ Sounds like you run around in circles sometimes.  Been there, done that!

Pat ~ Sounds like a fun party.  I like being around teens.

Judy M ~ I guess it is a Hoosier thing.  Pitch-in is Pot luck.  Covered dish.  Whatever.  Anyway good food!!!

Ria ~ I used to have a bike.  But I can't imagine riding a bike on my road.  I live in the country but it is busy like a highway.  And they drive too fast.  I watch for cars just taking my trash to the road.

Soni ~ I wish I could hear Lila Mae singing.  I am sure she has grown so much since I saw her back in August!  Wish the boys were here to mow my yard sometimes.

Larry ~ Glad to hear your test went well.  I am praying you have great results as well.

Marilyn ~ Thanks for the well wishes on my tests being done.

I got a phone call from the doctor's nurse yesterday telling me my CT scan came back negative...only showing a fatty liver which is no concern to the doctor.  But I am to pick up some new medicine today...a cholesterol lowering drug....to take for a month and have another blood draw May 24 and an appointment to see the doctor the 26th.  So Ivalou and I will be going to Noblesville to get the medicine this afternoon when she is taking a neighbor to her doctor appointment.

I took out the trash and walked in the grass.  My feet didn't get wet so I started mowing.  Then used the weed eater until the battery went down.  Then swept the garage with the shop vac and weed eated some more.  Then I showered....so now I am ready to go with Ivalou.(Uh, I got dressed, too!!!)[/b]

Good morning, ladies and gents!  Sorry I haven't checked in here for a couple of days (my excuse is that I've been busy - nobody's heard that one before, right?).

Anyway - it's another beautiful day.

Sonja - I'm going to be in your part of the world next week!  Actually, not quite your part, but your state (Cheyenne on Monday and Tuesday, Saratoga on Wednesday and Thursday, and Laramie on Friday).  I get to go back for another couple of days mid May (to Cheyenne).  I am REALLY looking forward to this trip.  I am allowed a rental car, so I'll be able to get around a bit and hopefully take some pictures.  Wyoming is just soooo beautiful.  Any tips of what I absolutely shouldn't miss?  It's been a while since we lived in Wyoming.

OK, people, I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed day!

We haven't had this hymn since last October!

Let's sing it together.

In the Garden[/size]
(Click for Music)

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain

It Is No Secret
(Click to hear music)

Lyrics: Stuart Hamblen

The chimes of time ring out the news,
Another day is through.
Someone slipped and fell
Was that someone you?
You may have longed for added strength,
Your courage to renew.
Do not be disheartened,
For I have news for you.

Refrain

It is no secret what God can do.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.

There is no night for in His light
You never walk alone.
Always feel at home,
Wherever you may go.
There is no power can conquer you
While God is on your side.
Take Him at His promise,
Don't run away and hide.

Refrain
It is no secret what God can do.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.

Ria, I think if I rode my bicycle that long, my legs would be falling off!!! :-)  Glad you were able to spend some time with him.

A beautiful afternoon here in Western North Carolina.  Just trying to get caught up on some things!

Take care (I still haven't remembered my thought of hte day -- maybe another day)

nards656

Motorcycles are absolutely the most dangerous thing on wheels.  "He who has ridden without crashing simply hasn't ridden enough yet" and "the only way not to crash is not to ride" are familiar maxims, but those of us who have twisted the throttle and felt the surge of power and the blast of the wind somehow simply can never escape it.  I have ridden, and I have crashed, but I still love to ride.  Motorcycles FORCE the rider to be alert, or else he will crash, and usually badly.  While riding, (for me this is also true with golf and with mountain bikes) it is simply impossible to think of anything other than riding.  Literally the struggles of life seem to disappear while the motor vibrates your body into jelly and the bugs, sand, and road grit abuse your skin like sandpaper.  Rain is torture, but the desire to ride is so powerful that I have ridden in quite rainy situations - just to be riding.

It's a lifestyle all its own.  Driving a car - even a hot rod - really just can never be the same.  I suppose that if it were less dangerous, it would be less enticing.

Add to all that the deep, powerful, throaty rumble of an 88 cubic inch Harley Davidson V-Twin with loud pipes, and you will see me drooling....  It's possibly sinful, but God and I are working on that, so don't worry about me :)

So there's my thesis on motorcycling.

Janet, is that a Gold Wing you've got, or what?  Karma would walk out to Kansas for any excuse to call it a "vacation"...

I hope all of you have/had a nice day.  I've been on the road and out of the office nearly all day, but at 7 PM, I'm going home.

Be good!

June - you asked as follows:
QuoteTill then...this is my question. "Who or what is Amalek ? I read in Exodus 17 "The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation". With all the strife we have had in this poor world down thru the centuries, I am wondering if this still pertains today.

Actually, Amalek was a descendant of Esau (see Genesis 36:12).  The Amalakites were therefore descendants of Amalek.  These people had become extreme in their idolatry and immorality, and the result is that it was time for God to thoroughly and finally judge them.  He therefore commanded Israel to fight with them and destroy them.  They didn't immediately and completely destroy them, so the war actually went on from generation to generation between Israel and this particular Arabian people.

Some Christians do think that this "warfare" still goes on, but whether it does or not is not our immediate concern.  Our concern is a different but similar warfare with sin and the forces of darkness around us today.  They are like Amalek was then in the sense that they are abominable to God.  We do not, however, fight this ongoing battle with physical weapons today.  We fight today with prayer, with the proclamation of the Gospel, and with love. (Galatians 5:17, 1 Peter 2:11, Ephesians 6:10-13).  Please read especially the last of these references.

Howdy y-all;
Not much  to talk about today. I have been next door babysitting again.

Gilbert and Sarah are trying to get that house we saw the other day. They went to turn in their application.

Savannah isn't feeling well today, it may be the flu.

Going to Bible Study in  a little bit. For now I am going to watch the news.

See you tomorrow.
