JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren...for this thing is from Me. 1 Kings 12:24

King Rehoboam had marshaled his army to suppress a revolt against his kingdom. But God had different plans and takes responsibility for circumstances that are unaccountable to our natural minds.

In our walk with God we inevitably are going to face similar imponderables. At such times remember that we have a God that is the Creator of all worlds, the fount of all wisdom and knowledge.

He knows what is best for us.

He cannot err.

Only believe.
                                                                            --Edwin Fesche

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
but trust Him for His grace:
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

Hey there, PAT!!   ;D  I was just checking in to see what's been going on with all my friends and family here on CP today ... It has been a busy day and one full of God's love and direction.  I went to our Women't Ministry meeting this morning, then to give blood and from there I went to Nita's for a couple hours.  She is doing well, and we had a wonderful visit full of praise to God for what He is doing.

I do, indeed, want to wish eveyone a wonderful day in the Lord and I'll be back to check in y'all soon... Promise!!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hello Pat and Jane.

Pat...Thank-you!  This is a word of confirmation for me today.

Yesterday I was e mailed by Bobbie(Babi)......so suddenly,I hadn't heard from her for ages. She told me that God knows exactly what I need. Amen! Babi is a gem isn't she Pat? I have invited her to pop in and see us here by the way, as you suggested.

Circumstances seemed to be getting out of control re a relative and I have to realise that God is taking responsibilty in this situation, with my natural mind I find it hard to accept.

I have entered the Scripture 1 Kgs 12:24 into my diary as a promise from the Lord for me.

Every blessing in Christ Jesus to all who pass this way today.

Love and prayers to Ruth Ann and family too.

Janet

We are headed to the pool again for more Scuba adventures! ;D  So this will be short.

Ruth Ann, we are still praying for your requests.  Is that baby here yet??

Hello, Jane, good to see you this morning!  Hi, Jenny!  Hi Pat!

We have a new GrandPup!  Beth got a little 8 weeks old Chihuahua puppy, and she is so sweet.  These particular ones are very calm natured, not little yippy-yappies, thank goodness.  Beth is so happy with her.  The girl who sold her to Beth is engaged to Beth's cousin (my nephew) and lowered the price, and is letting Beth make payments.  Not a good time for her to spend money on a dog, but I know how much company the dog is to her.  She is still thinking about names....any suggestions?

I wish you all a wonderful day, and I sure pray Iain is all right.  I miss his postings so much!

Larry, I'm glad those treatments helped you and I hope the improvement continues!

Carol

Janet:  A cuddly puppy is just what Beth needs right now!  I thought of Chico - a name from the past in our family but maybe that sounds masculine.  Chica?

Yesterday, I played a tape of George Beverly Shea with old songs from Billy Grahmn crusades.  It was so basic and wonderful to hear - "I'd rather have Jesus - than silver or gold"..... So, I spent a few hours sewing and listening to that tape over and over.  My 25 cent tape from a thrift shop.   :D

Has anyone heard from Ursula lately?  What is happening with her?

Carol

Marilyn

Good Morning.  Another Blessed day for everyone I pray. Has anyone heard anymore from Ruth Ann? Is the baby here yet?

I almost forgot to go to class last  night. I was 40 minutes late. Senior moment? ??? Oh my not a senior moment  :o

Thanks Pat for the devotional this morning, It is a good message to me re: Gilbert and Sarah's salvation.

Gitsie is about the same, hasn't eaten since Wednesday. I called the vet yesterday and he said to keep on monitoring her and to bring her in tommorw to have the drains removed. She is however drinking a lot of water.

I am going to read the prayer forum now be back later.

Good morning, I will make this a quick one as I need to get on out to the hospital.
Earl is still there, will probably come home tomorrow (Saturday).  They removed the second catheter this morning and hopefully the plumbing will work this time.

I am so tired.  I suppose it is partly because my potassium is still too low, after being on the prescription supplements for over three months.  The doctor told me to double my intake.  One of these days.....we will both be back on track again!   :D

Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts!
Love in Jesus,
Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

No Hamilton trip today so I stayed up late doing technical jobs here on Christian Photographers.  Have you all noticed that we have a new folder just for the Psalm studies?

I had such a great time going through them too and felt so refreshed when I went to bed at 3 am!  There's really some good information and spiritual food in those short studies so hopefully, you'll all go and have a look again at them in their new home.  Songs of Worship[/b]  Thanks Al Moak for your untiring volunteering putting these great studies on here.

Iain is having a few computer problems and so I expect that he's working hard on getting those problems rectified.  Please keep on praying for this dear brother as he has such difficult health problems and is never without pain.

Oh, Marilyn!  You at least got to the class though.  That's good.  These "senior moments" are terrible, aren't they?

Have a great time "scuba-ing", Janet!  I don't think I'd enjoy it very much although I really enjoy your photos.  I think it's time for you to share them in our Photos Here area soon, don't you?

Carol, I love George Beverly Shea.  I could listen to him for hours.  His voice is so relaxed and he certainly sings from the heart and there's no difficulty in hearing his words, is there?

Great to see you here, Jane!  I saw you last night while I was working "down in the basement" but I was on a roll and didn't want to stop!   When you were visiting Nita, did she say that I had emailed her?  No reply from her.  Still praying for her.

Jenny, certainly it's fine to invite BaBi.   Just ask her to read the policies and purpose of this site and if she agrees, she's certainly welcome!

This might be a good time to have a look again at the Purpose that this site was set up...

Hi Janice, you popped in while I was composing.  Oh dear, I'm sorry that you are going through all of this.  You must keep your own strength up too.  Don't forget this.  Let the family take turns visiting Earl while you rest.  Going to the hospital day in and day out is very tiring and especially so when you aren't feeling up to par yourself.

I'm praying for you dear sister.

Yes, Pat, Nita did say you had emailed her again.  She just didn't know whether to reply or not ..  ???  She is on the computer very little now, and mostly for communication with her family. She is doing really well, spiritually, and we both are rereading all the "old saints" and discussing our "discoveries" occasionally.

I don't know what to tell you about why Nita has withdrawn, again, but I know it is a GOOD thing for her, because she is spending a lot of time in prayer and communication with our Lord!

JANICE~I am sorry you and Earl are having such a time of it physically ... I will continue to pray for daily strength for both of you and a return of complete health for you both, too.

Hey, MARILYN!  You better watch those "senior moments"  :o  They can sneak up on you when you least expect them!   ::)

CAROL~ I love to listen to George Beverly Shae, too.  Enjoy your 25¢ tape!   :D

JANET~How neat that Beth has a new puppy!  It may not be a good time for her to be spending the money but think of all the love that will pass between her and her new little addition!  Congratulations on the newest Grandpup! ;D

JENNY~Isn't it wonderful to have "old friends" suddenly pop-up?  It really gives a lift to one's day and brings such joy when a friendship is rekindled.

I am praying for IAIN and his multiple problems ... with computer and health.  We miss him when he is absent for even a short while. :(

Speaking of "absent" .... where is Sonja?

I just came back to see Karma's post and saw that I missed yours, Jane.  I'm sorry about Nita.  It's awful when old friends cease to communicate and Nita was one of the first Christian friends I had on SeniorNet back in 1996!  I'm not writing anymore and I'll leave it up to her whether she replies or not!  ???  Maybe she can let me know if she wants to have her name left on the list of members.  Sometimes the silence seems to mean that I've said something or done something that has hurt and if I did this, I'm truly sorry.  We all so very much enjoyed her lovely photos of Oregon.  Her last post she said that she was going to see if the photos she took were good enough for us to see and I'm still waiting!  LOL

Yes, Karma!  Roll on BRIDGE photos!  I've posted some already!

I had a great time underwater this morning.  We had two boys and two girls and they had such fun, too.

I need to go do some errands, talk to you later!

I am ready to go to work. BTW I can't spend time on the computers there as I did at the Library in LV. Too much to do. and There are a lot of people who use the computers.

I've taken the dogs for a walk, and Happydog took me for a walk. He had me walking awfully fast. Bebe is easier to walk as she doesn't pull. I took Gitsie out for a couple of minutes, trying to get her some excersize to she will eat. Didn't work.

Have you seen the Hawk photo that JudyB posted. Wonderful photos.

So glad that Earl is doing better and praying that he will get to go home tomorrow.  Also that Janice will get some much needed rest.

Thanks Mieka for the clickable for the stinky flower.  Such a pretty bloom for a stinking odor.

I didn't get online last night and today was a busy morning.  Ivalou and I did go out to eat and she got a cell phone.  So now we can keep in touch with Jerry and all while we are gone.  She has more relatives to call long distance than I and had been thinking of a cell phone for quite some time.

I just got a call from the head nurse at Jerry's Rehab.  They are having a conference meeting Monday morning that they would like for me to attend.  These are weekly for all the patients.

Good afternoon:

Pat:  Thanks for your post this morning

Janice give my greetings to Earl

Marilyn it seems that so many of us experience those sr. moments.

Judy: Mel & I got a phone call from your hubby so we left and had coffee with him at the truck stop. I think it was midnight when we got back home.  The truck stop is approx. a 10 minute drive from our home but we had to take the long way around in order to get on the right side of the road.

It looks very much like rain right now.

Janet

Ruth, if you have any extra rain, please send it my way!  Things are so dry around here. :( >:( :-\

Janice, thanks for letting us know about Earl, and I pray that both of you will soon be feeling fit as a fiddle again!

I am going to Hugoton to pick up Abby tonight as her Mom has gone to Kansas City to market, and it's hard for Dad and brothers to keep up with her! ;)  Anyway, Grams loves any time with her that's possible!

There are some lovely photos of bridges already in the new challenge!

Hi everyone.  I am really late today and have had a very busy day.  It was a good test of my energy level and think the results were good.  I took our car to the tire place to get the tires rotated while I went to Friday men's  coffee at the Senior Center.  When I got back home Pat and I went to our church to as they were having a consignment sale of baby and young children things and we hoped to find some things for our great grandson.  Did find one outfit and a couple of toys to send.

We then went to the mall area where Pat had a physical done this morning.  While she was having that I finally bought a pair of dress shoes (Rockports) and got a 30% discount plus we are in a 4 days no sales tax on clothes, shoes and other things related to school.  (You don't have to be a student to get the benefit of this but it is to help the economy and help people get kids ready for school.  It also included computers and school supplies.)

I then went over to the mall to take two of Pat's rings to have them cleaned at the jewelry store.  We had gone to another jewelry store befire she went to the doctor and had the same thing done to another ring she has.  After she finished her appointment we went to lunch at Smokey Bones and then on the way home stopped at the grocery store.

Before I had these treatments there was no way I could have stood up to such a morning.  I was tired when we got home so took a quick nap.

Janice, hope you can get some rest and that Earl is able to come home tomorrow.

Marilyn, isn't it frustrating when you realize you have forgotten an important appointment.  Guess it happens to all of us.  I now make lists and keep a calendar on my desk to remind me of things.

Janet, I will be looking forward to seeing some pictures of Beth's new puppy.  It is wonderful that she is able to have pets as they are very theraputic.  Enjoy your weekend with Abby.

Etta Sue, I think you will find having a cell phone on your trip, as well as for use when you are out in your car, will be very reassuring.  I don't use mine very often but I like to know I have it with me whenever I am away from the house.

Pat, we don't have many bridges in the area where I live so will likely just be a viewer in this next challenge.

Jane, I am also missing reading the postings from Nita and do hope she will stop in occasionally.

I do hope Iain is able to get his computer back in top shape soon.  I missed reading his devotional for this morning.

Am going to just say hi to everyone I haven't address in this lengthy message but this has gotten too long.

Janet

Hello, Larry!  My, you did have a busy day, and glad it didn't prove too much for you!

Papa John

I'm just dropping in for a minute today to confirm that I am still around.  I just haven't felt like doing a lot of writing these last few days.  I have been having an eating problem and seem to have lost my appetite.  This along with that aching back has kept me pretty quiet.  I got of the house the first time this afternoon to go for a visitation at a funeral home.  The funeral is for the mother of a good friend.

I believe it is Thursday of next week that we go to have those four injections in my spine all at the same time.  I am hoping this will give me some relief.  But when all is said and done I have to say that I am so fortunate when I see the problems which so many have.  I am thankful every day for the blessings we have in Christ.  It is good to read your posts and hopefully a little later I will be more active again.

Hello everyone, I haven't been on for a couple of days.  It's been nice though, a couple of relaxing days, just taking the kids to the park, etc.

Just a quick note to say hello.  God bless everyone and have a great night.  Jen.

Carol

Papa John:  Sorry to hear about your aching back and I do hope that you begin to feel better very soon.

We drove to daughter's home to take her to an early birthday lunch and then stopped in to watch grandson at a hockey game.  It was so chilly and I was wearing sandals and summer clothing so I couldn't stand the cold too long.  However, since my husband was raised in Duluth, Minnesota - he just loves colder temperatures and he stayed by the rink the entire time in short sleeved shirt.  Brrrrrrr  We did see our grand make one goal and assist on two other goals.  He is a cool skater.  His energy was not so good as he had been in DVBS all week and they have been pretty active.  The kids have absolutely loved the camps this year and come home singing new songs every day.  What a blessing to have such dedicated and creative bible school teachers for the children!  Carol

Jeanne Lee

Hi there everyone!  An unexpected 1/2 day of work today because the other girl is sick.  She called about 7:10 this morning and asked me to cover for her so of course I agreed.  That only gave me an hour to get ready, but I made it.  ;D

Pat, I seem to remember that Nita has needed to get away from the computer before, feeling a need for a closer walk with the Lord.

This afternoon I went back over to church to finish polishing up the candelabra and it's a good think I didn't leave it until tomorrow! :o  There was a wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner there this afternoon and evening and a wedding tomorrow.   I managed to get finished with the candle duty and the church kitchen cleaned up in good shape about a half hour before they were due to start.  Whew!  ;D
