Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I will remember the works of the Lord...I will remember Thy wonders...I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings..
Psalm 77:11-12

What wonderful words to describe both private devotion and public worship in the Lord's Supper.

To remember is to call to mind, to bring into my thoughts.

To meditate is to turn it over and over in the mind, looking at it from different angles to appreciate it more, comparing spiritual with spiritual.

Then we open our hearts and mouths in praise and worship, to "talk of Thy doings."
                                                                                  --C. Knott

Jesus, Thy boundless love to me
No thought can reach, no tongue declare;
O knit my thankful heart to Thee
And reign without a rival there.

Hi everyone.  As I was last Sunday, am a bit late in getting the devotional message that Pat prepared for us posted today.  However, it looks like I might not have been the only one getting a little extra rest here on the Lord's Day.

It is sunny here this morning but more afternoon showers are predicted.  We had a heavy rain yesterday evening.  Pat wanted to do some grilling so we fired it up and just as she started to cook it started to rain.  She called me out to hold the umbrella and then I realized I could bring the grill over to the edge of the screened porch and we got the benefit of the overhang.  About the time the cooking was finished the rain stopped.

I see that Pat was able to leave a breif message late last night and it sounds like they will be headed home today and should be home in 5 days.  It will be good to have her back at the helm here on CP.

We will be leaving for church in about an hour.  Today is Rally Day when the Sunday School programs begin again for the Falll and then after the church service there is a church-wide picnic scheduled.  Pat and I will not stay for the picnic as don't tolerate the heat very well.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Lord's Day.  See you all later.

Oh my, oh my, oh my!!!  Do I ever have egg on my face today.  It is a good thing that Pat is headed home to take back control here.  I locked the discussion for today and didn't realize it until I just now read  e-mail  message from Jane, Ruth Ann, Jenny  and Marilyn.  No excuses but guess I had a knowledge delay (better known as a senior moment).   ??? ???

I have now unlocked it so hope that everyone will try back this evening.

Aaawwww Larry, don't feel bad  :-\ ... here's a napkin to wipe the egg off your face.    :P  We'll never tell Pat, okay?

I've been to church and back again, and will be going again this evening.  Starting today, the other congregation that joined us a few Sundays ago is going to be with us for the evening service.  They have not been having services on Sunday evenings and, besides, we like the fellowship, so this is great for all of us to get together  ;D ... after all, we are all of one body--the Body of Christ--and there has been much prayer for unity in this area.

Our Pastor Bev was in the worship service this morning, but had to leave for a doctor's appointment.  She was at the doctor's (one or another) five times this last week!  Now, she needs to have something checked, and they think she has developed a kidney infection.   :'(  We continue to pray for her total recovery and strength to get through this ordeal!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Wheeeew! :o It is a bout time Larry unlocked the door, I was sure getting sore knuckles knocking and knocking. Only now I can't remember what I wanted to say earlier this morning.

Well I have been to church and back home had something to eat and doing some crocheting on a vest I am making.

Jane: Still praying for Pastor Bev. With the chemo and her immune system being destroyed by the chemo, she is suseptible (spelling) to all sorts of infections. She needs our prayers now more than ever to get her through the effects of the chemo.

Well, Larry, that's one way to save bandwidth for the site. ;D

We had a lovely visit yesterday from my daughter, Alice and her two younguns, Rachel and Jake.   I did manage to get a couple of pictures and will try to get them posted in photos.

Just as they were leaving we noticed some threatening clouds on the horizon  - and sure enough the storms rolled in for most of the afternoon and evening.  Therefore, no computer for me. (I'm chicken! :-\)

Larry, like you, I am late even later than you.  This morning we really enjoyed the worship and our Sunday School class.  Afterwards our class went out to a restaurant which specializes in country ham, eggs and biscuits.  It was delicious.

Good to see you all, Ria, Judy B., Marilyn, Jane, and Larry.

The passage for the devotional gives us something to think about, "I will remember the works of the Lord...I will remember Thy wonders...I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings.."  Psalm 77:11-12

One reason we need to continue studying God's word is so we can keep it in our hearts and remember what God has done for us.  We talk of what God has done in our songs and prayers.  Somewhere I read the statement, "We cannot teach what we do not know and we cannot lead where we do not go."  What a privilege it is for us to know and teach and lead others in the way of the Lord.

Elizabeth

Hi to everyone.  It is evening and I have had a lovely but tiring day.
Went to church and we had a missionary from Belgium take the service.  His message was interesting and covered many of the problems they are encountering.
I was surprised and happy to have the whole song service from our hymn book and Eva playing the piano.  Eva is the mother of our Astronaut from here in the valley.  We are quite proud of him and they are wonderful Christians.

Our youth minister is leaving with his wife and two young children to serve in Tanzania.  Very dangerous and primitive area and they need prayer.  They are such grand kids and so filled with love for the Lord.  Will be greatly missed by all the young people.

Met Al afterwards and we went to Cowichan Bay for the afternoon and had a super fish dinner at a special spot by the ocean.  So has been an especially nice day.  Al is still able to do many things but obviously growing more frail and it is hard to keep his mind away from depressing thoughts about the future.

Hope you feel better soon Ria and thanks for the morning devotional Larry.  So many folks needing prayer....will do my best.  God Bless, Liz.

Larry:  I see that you may be taking more treatments if all is accepted with your doctor's recommendation.  I pray that if the treatments are necessary, all will be available for you.

Jane:  I pray for your economic situation and that your house won't need so many repairs.

Thank you, CAROL.  All I can say is God is in control ... there is nothing I can do to change the situation but rely totally upon HIM.  Matthew 6 tells me that my Father knows what I have need of ... and He supplies all my needs.    :)

Marilyn you are so right.  This has been the focus of our prayers for Bev: that she have the strength to go through all that the chemo treatment is doing to her.  She is staying strong in her spirit, but her body does become weak.
We had scheduled a board meeting after the evening service today.  So, after people left, Pastor Ron called over to the house to have Nora (who has been staying with Bev) come to the church for the meeting. She is the church treasurer.  Nora called back immediately and asked that we bring the meeting to the pastors house because Bev wanted to participate!  That's just what we did...Bev is not only pastor, but Secretary of the Board and she wanted to fulfill her "duties."  Ya gotta love that woman!   :)
