JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Good morning; well, it is only 11:30 here in Illinois! I'm back after losing my webtv unit awhile back; they insisted on trying to fix it, and only now, decided it couldn't be fixed, so gave me a new one! I have missed all of you---Pat, Marilyn, Mieka, and those of you that I didn't have time to know well.Marilyn, please accept my sympathy on your loss. I remember getting to know Gitzie and you on our other list; I am so sorry! And,thanks, Pat, for the great message today; I needed that! Love to all, Cami

Marilyn

Hi Cami, sure am glad to see you back. How is everything in your life going for you?

Friday August 8th.   Like so many of the others with server problems, it has cleared up. It is wonderful to have the feeling of being connected.

Pat & Iain wonderful devotions: Many good points to reflect on.

Pat and the others folk heading west have a safe and wonderful trip.   On your way home enjoy the ferry ride.

Ria I wish that I could hear you say those words. Dutch is so beautiful.

Mieka I love your posts as well.

Our day at the present is a combination of Sun & Cloud with rain in forecast.

Marilyn I am thinking of you in your times of stress.

Blessings to all

Hi everyone.  We had another brief storm last night and as has been happening almost daily we had a momentary loss of power.  I didn't turn my computer back on until noon time as I had a SeniorNet volunteer's meeting this morning and needed to get a blood test done so we left shortly after getting back from men's coffee, which starts at 7:30 am on Fridays.  So I missed all the activity with the server being down.  Glad to see it is back up now and things seem to be fine.

Iain, once again you have written with such honesty.  I appreciate your posting it for today.

Cami, glad to see you have been able to join us again.  We have missed you.

Janet, do you have glitter all over your house?  Bet you have had a fun couple of days with all those grandchildren with you.  You must have a lot of energy.

Papa John, glad to read that the shots weren't bad and hopefully you have been able to nap a bit today since you indicated your back was feeling better.

Hope everyone has a nice remainder of the day and Pat and Judy be sure to check your lists twice.   :)

Carol

I was able to get on CP easily.

Janet:  What a joy to have the grands visiting.  They give me more energy when they are around as I am sure it is the same with you.  On your note on Veteran's Hospitals - our country needs to put more money into updating them and anything they can do to help the many needs of the vets.  Carol

7.45 p.m. U.K.

I have come in again via Pat's tap in.

Ria how is Holland doing re water for all those beautiful flowers?

Holland is very special to me as she is the Motherland of dear Auntie Corrie Ten Boom...and of her dear Christian family, from Haarlem in that country.

Ria I lived in Lincolnshire some years ago.  My father's family are from there.  He comes from Ravendale in the Wolds area....I know New Holland which is also a place of Dykes and flowers, just across the water from you.
Also we had a lovely family living near us after the war.  The man was called Jan Blomberg.  He called his daugher Cobie.  They escaped to England during the war.

The sky has just changed colour and looks dark...we must vbe having a storm SOON, it is too much , folk are very stressed out with the heat here., None-the-less I have watered the flowers and hosed the lawn...still no hosepipe ban.

Larry, I expect you will be in charge of us with Pat away.  I am glad you feel a bit better.  Do take care.

Hello to Cami.

Love to Ruth Ann, Mieka,.and to everyone here....Jo are you alright?......I will write this weekend dear Marilyn, you are having a very difficult time..."Cast all your cares on Him for He careth for you".

I didn't get on at all last evening.  I was one of those who were locked out.  :'(  I thought at first it was something in our area - there were storms all around us and a couple right here.  But when I found I could get into other sites and my email was coming in fine I realized it had to be CP.  About 11:00 p.m. I gave up and went to bed - with Book #7;D.

At least all is well now and I've been catching up.

Cami, it's great to see you back.  Now we'll be watching for more posts from you.  ;D

Marilyn, I'm so sorry to hear about Gitsie.  I know how much she meant to you.

SHINE

Just one light can make a big difference when there is
darkness all around.

When you turn on a light in an already lighted room, you
make it just a little bit brighter. But when you turn on
a light in a room that was completely dark, you significantly
change the environment. The light reveals possibilities.
It make obstacles less menacing. It makes the situation
clearer and easier to understand.

The more you are surrounded by negativity, the more impact
you can have by being positive. Just one person who insists
that yes, we can get it done, and who steadily works to make
it happen, can achieve astonishing results.

If there is negative energy all around you, see it as an
opportunity. Consider how much of a difference you can
make with your positive thoughts and actions.

Turn on your own light, and those nearby cannot help but see.
The darker it is around you, the brighter your light will shine.

Pat, I got your e-mail.  I don't know if I had any trouble because I wasn't at home...it was volunteeer -at-Free-Clinc-night and I was too tired.  I pray that your time away will be a blessing to you and that you will REST and ENJOY.  ;)  Of course, you know as a CP you are obligated to bring back pictures for us to enjoy :)

Tomorrow I take the car to Charlotte for the check up before the BIG trip.  Sunday is the LORD's day and I have to  clean house, wash clothes and pack by Monday night. So much to do.  I'm already tired just thinking about it.

Well, I guess my rushing around has about come to an end and tomorrow at 5 am, we'll be on our way.  We have about 2 1/2 hours or nearly 3 to drive in Canada to the border and I pray that the lineups won't be terribly long there.

Then we meet a friend up in almost northern Michigan for lunch and then get on our way again over a bridge that's 5 miles long!  Too bad I can't post a photo of it in our Bridges Challenge.

We hope to make it to Marquette, Michigan by tomorrow night.

Now, supper is ready, so I'm off to eat with Jen aka Mercychild.

Ruthie

Hello Ria:
I am a newbie as well.  Good to hear from you and I will be praying for your father.  My father had prostate cancer around 74 and he went to be with the Lord at 88 1/2, about 15 years later.

Hi Pat:
I enjoyed your devotional today and I will be praying for you while you are on your trip.  Hope you relax and enjoy every moment.

Bye bye

Pat:   It is getting late and I do feel that you should be on your way to bed for a good nights rest before leaving early in the morning.

To all have a safe trip and we will hear all about your trip when you get back.

I'm here.  It has been a long day, so I'll just wave hi to everyone, and wish travelling mercies to our travelling friends.  <karmat waves hi>

cheers

I have been next  door visiting with Gilbert and Savannah. Gilbert cooked and served me dinner. We had Fried boneless skinless chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, and streamed  broccili, picked fresh from his garden. Gilbert has always been a good cook but has become much better in the last 10 years. We had a very good visit.

Sarah is working in a private care home facility in an old Eureka mansion. There are 5 elders there. She works 4 days a week from 3-8 p.m. They are looking to hire someone else when she goes back to school and It might be me. We'll see what happens.

I am doing better  today. But will say good night now and check the other threads here.

God Blessy-all who are traveling early in the morning and I am looking forward to the new devotionl tomorrow. Who will it be Iain, Larry, Al,?? Or all three.

Janice

Hello Marilyn and Jane!  I see you are both online right now and hope you are both well tonight.
Marilyn, I was so sorry about your little dog.  I know you will miss Gitzie so much.  Just enjoy the others, they will help you cope.
Jane, how is Bev today?  Chemo can be so debilitating.  Our daughter (actually my step-daughter) had a lot of months of chemo, for ovarian cancer.  She came through it all OK but it was not easy.  God gives us grace for every trial.

I wonder how far Etta Sue and Ivalou got today?  Now maybe we will get to see Ivalou when pictures are posted!  I wish I had a sister close by.

Pat, if you look in later, I pray you, Judy and Norm will have a safe trip and you don't get too exhausted to enjoy the bash.  Wish I could help you do the driving, but I guess it is too far away for me.

Where is Sonja?  I miss her!

Earl is doing much better now.  It has been a long ordeal.  Maybe now we can stay out of the hospitals!!  :D  His 3 or 4 days turned out to be a week!

Iain, I especially liked your devotional today.  You have a way of blessing the folks here, and I thank you.  I thank Pat, Al, Papa John and Larry too.  All of you bring so much before us, it is like a feast every day.

Janet, I know you must be really enjoying the days with the grands - although you must be about run ragged by now!  Hope you have enough energy to keep you going.  You are such a youngster though.

Hello to all others, I enjoy reading your posts, and hope all are well tonight.

In Christian love,
Janice
