JEANNE~That's just what I need ... a fixer-upper!  There is so much that needs fixing around here: piddly stuff but stuff that, if not taken care of soon, will become a real problem.  Maybe I can get this friend's neighbor to fix my back porch too, y'think?  I have some yard work that I'd like help with, but I guess I will just hope for the best on that.  Funny thing, I put a notice on the bulletin board at church and now we aren't going to have services there, except for Sunday morning, for a few weeks.  No one will see my notice.    My pastor suggested I do that and "someone will see it who can help you."  B-b-but when?

I called the Senior/Disabled Services this morning to ask about getting wood for the winter.  They said it's a little early for that, but they took my name and phone number so that should put me pretty near the top of their waiting list!  I just thought this would be a good time to get wood...before the rains start again!

Oh, well, my Father knows what I have need of and He has said He will supply all my needs.  He also said not to worry about tomorrow, cuz He's got that covered as well!  

I know He is teaching me about trust ... and He knows how much I can take (even when I say I can't take any more) and the end of all this is in His hand and timing.  Just gotta be patient a little longer.

Welcome back Jerry, you have indeed been missed.

We are expecting temperatures around 20  - 25 degrees celcius this week.  There is a hint that the leaves are turning.  I have been waiting for the leaves to turn to take puctures of the view we have up here in the fall.   Etta Sue  you are so right we have to accept the good with the bad.  But I would love to be able to be a snow bird and in about November move to Florida for the winter and come back here in May.  Well again I will accept the good of winter, I will hibernate at home and enjoy the wood furnace.

Mom has enjoyed me reading the posts.  It is good for her to see what everyone is up to and enjoy the experiences with me.

It is late and I will be off to bed soon.

Larry:  Thanks for the suggestion.  We are trying the so-called South Beach diet developed by a Cardiologist.  No sugar or carbs for two weeks and then slowly add a few things back.  We shall see.  So far so good.  One week to go.

Etta Sue:  I will try them in the microwave next time.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Hello everyone. It's been a busy summer for me but things are beginning to slow down a little.

Jane - I'm sorry you're going through such a tough time. That fire must have felt like the last straw. Now, if you were just down the road a peice like you used to be I could come and cheer you up and even get Chape to help with some of those chores!    Guess we couldn't be much farther away from each other and still live in the same country.  
God knows your needs and you need to trust that everything will work out somehow.

Hi to all.  Nice to have you back Pat.  Did you enjoy Calgary?  I still love it best, tho' don't miss the winters.

I have been to the kids place for a few days and at the fair.  Amanda won ribbons for her art and for a poem she wrote about 9/11.  It is very moving and makes one realize the depth of feelings that teenagers can have.  The poem is quite long but ends with:

September 11th will always be a part of history,
   But to me it will always be a mystery.            
I'll never understand why they broke the rule,
    How can people be so cruel?

How indeed, can people be so cruel.  Our world is so filled with anger, not love.  Only God can save us.

I have missed reading the postings and especially the morning devotional.  It is such a blessing in my life and helps to strengthen my faith each day.  My daughter is so brave, but her poor little body is in such pain.  Please pray for her.  She is having a bone scan Aug. 29th and we are so afraid of what it will show.  All I can do is trust and pray.  

To the new person who needs help.  You have come to the right place.  God will give you strength to deal with the problems and the folks here will share with love and encouragement.  So stay and learn about the Lord.  God Bless to all.  Liz.
