JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Thine eyes shall see the king in His beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off...the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
Isaiah 33:17, 24

The greatest marvels of heaven to me must include that I will be there--and that the King actually wants me there!

We will never fail Him again, never blush at the thought of sin, never need to retract a word or retrace a step.

And we will all have one thing in common--we shall all be "forgiven!"

I shall praise Him then, but by God's grace I shall also do it now.
                                                           --J. B. Nicholson, Jr.

Forgiven! O how frankly, free,
He spoke the word of peace to me;
And evermore the blest in heaven
Shall tell how much they are forgiven.

--Wm. Blane

Good morning all 11.15AM

IT IS SUNDAY THE DAY OF OUR LORD

I WISH YOU ALL A BLESSED SUNDAY

LOVE  RIA

Etta Sue

It was so good to read that Papa John and his lovely wife, Cornelia, are away on a respite.  I like Mieka's idea to keep him online.  I have a dollar to spare, too.  Glad that Mieka is home again.  When will be your next trip and where.  Hope you share some of your photos with us.  And Marilyn sounds like she is lining up some work for winter time.  I hope this work is enough, financially and physically.

I am all ready for church.  Today I do the lighting....another man and I exchanged days...he worked while I was on the road and he is in Tennessee today.  I will be stopping by Jerry's later and see if he wants to come back here again.  I spent yesterday organizing PSP files and folders on the pc and printed forms in notebooks.  Lot's of fun!  But still have more to do.

Hi everyone.  Just a quick note this morning as we prepare to leave for church in a little while.  The founding minister of our congregation 25 years ago is going to be preaching today.  The choir is singing a nice arrangement of "For God So Loved the World".

Etta Sue, please say hi to Jerry for me and I hope you find his stronger than when you last saw him.

Hope everyone is able to get to church today and has a nice day.  This is the middle of a three day weekend so know our church attendance will be down this morning as many folks leave town on these occasions.

Marilyn

Good Morning: So wonderful to be going into the house of God today and hearing the message He has for us. I know there will be something just for me.

Mieka, it is nice to have you back, so you can post  everyday now. I have missed you very much. Are there pictures of you that you will post too? I sure hope so.

Etta Sue will Jerry be able to post again soon, be  sure to let us know how he is doing.

Pat  thanks for the devotional. How are you dong today. I was going to post a phot of Gitsie in the new challenge yesterday and found the door still locked. Oops, too soon.

Have to get ready for church now. see y-all later.

It usually takes over an hour for me to read NEM due to this graphics problem with my computer. I think God knew I don't have the time for that today so He was good to me to let me read before I have to leave for work.

A client has to travel on Thursday, so our meeting has been moved up to Tuesday instead. Since I'm working all this weekend, I've asked my boss (and he has agreed) to exchange this holiday weekend for next. So, I can look forward to a 3-day rest next weekend.

My pain level is dropping, so I must be healing after the tests a week ago. Thank goodness! This has been a difficult week to try to work.

Y'all have a good day, and I hope to be able to get my computer repaired soon so that I can again participate more freely.

Ruth Ann

(For a friend...)

WHAT A FRIEND
(Click to hear music)
Tune:  The Rose

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Seems a little quiet here, this weekend.  hmmmm  :-\

We had a wonderful church service this morning.  This evening our church as well as others will be joining with the tent ministries in the K-Mart parking lot.  Bev had a praise report today ... but y'all have to check in the prayer room to read about it!   ;)

I received the check from my insurance company for the fire damage to my bathroom.  A couple friends are helping get things straightened away and I will have enough $$$ to get wood, new glasses, have my porch fixed, and have my carpets professionally cleaned!  God is so good!  Looks like He allowed a fire in my bathroom to get me the finances to take care of all my other needs!  I will be purchasing the ceiling fan replacement on Tuesday, and a friend has carpet pieces that will replace the carpet in the bathroom ... also various pieces of wood that will repair my porch!  Just yesterday I received the second notice from the optometrist to have my eyes examined.  It's been two years and he's been watching these cataracts.  I've needed my glasses changed but couldn't afford it last year!  Maybe soon I will be able to see again!   ;D

I'll be around ... here and there ... so I'll check back with y'all later.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Papa John

Nothing to report from our resort here in the mountains of North Georgia.  The only thing we have done today is go to church this morning.  The town is too crowded for us to get around much.  I'm sure it will be the case tomorrow on Labor day.

Actually I think I have had a bug yesterday and today and have suffered a little upset.  Hopefully I'll be all right tomorrow.

Hi everybody!  I had a wonderful day in the Lord.  Went to church and Sunday school and had very good messages in both.  We saw 4 people saved to the glory of God.  So exciting to see NEW LIFE born.  The sermon was on being translated from the Kingdom of darkness to the God's Kingdom, and what it means to live under the government of God.

I posted some more pictures from my recent scannings.  Hope ya'll stop by and take a look.
Shalom

Janet

Hello, everyone!  I'm back!  I have been away from the computer for a few days; had to get that job of sorting Mom's stuff done, then I had a seminar I had paid for months ago, in Dodge City, just got home a while ago.

I haven't read Friday's and Saturday's NEM, will do that later.  I just wanted to let you all know I am fine.  Abby is here, and wants some of my time and attention, since I had to leave her with Papa and Aunt Beth overnight. :-\  She said she missed me! :)

I will check the photos, talk to you another time!

Wonderful church services today.  Is any one else's church going to participate in the '40 Days of Purpose'.  The journey begins October 11th by joining thousands of congregations thoughout the country for a simulcast launch of 40 Days of Purpose campaign.  During those 40 days we are to realize 'What on earth am I here for!'  Just wondering about YOUR church.  I ate lunch out and then went to see Jerry.  And I do believe he is much better.  He watched the Darlington NASCAR race and, you guessed it, I took a nap on the couch.  His daughter came and is staying the night...leaving tomorrow afternoon.  I told Jerry I would see him Tuesday.  Then Thursday, he is to see his neurosurgeon again.  Pray for great results from that.  He is hoping to get the okay to drive again.  I got home around 6PM in gloomy, wet weather.

Marilyn

Jane, that the best news about your finances.Hallelujah
I got a  che ck in the mail  from the state for renters assistance. California does that for Home owners and Renters over 62. It is a once yearly payment. Hallelujah for me too.

Etta Sue I haven't heard anything about that in my church.

Hi Janet welcome back sister. Good to see ya.

Same goes for you Papa John, Good to see you back here too.

I haven't been online for two days so have a lot of catching up to do.

Pat, from now on when you want to do a test registration, please put something like "pat testing things".  ;D   I thought the name "Test"  was strange but I didn't want to leave anyone out.  :-\

Mieka, I understand that you had to promise not to put some of your pictures on the internet.  Some of Gene's family don't want their children on either, so we respect their wishes, even though I'd really love to show them off.  :-\

Good evening all.  Thanks Pat.  I love that version of  the hymn and find it easier to sing.
God seems to be sending many blessings out and it is great to hear how needs are being met.  Our God  seems to have exactly the right timing for everything!

Al picked me up and went to my church this morning.  We are of different faiths (he is Catholic) and sometimes not always on the same wavelength...He does know Jesus and that makes things okay!  Usually enjoys the service.

Our church is part of a group of churches expressing their outrage at how the democratic wishes of Canadians are being ignored and we do not want marriage re-defined.  Only Parliament has the power to stop what is happening.  Billy Graham has said, "Democracy is only as good as the people who get involved."  So  a National Sanctity of Marriage Week has been formed, from Sept. 1-7th.  We are urged to join in prayer with people of faith from all denominations across the country for a public declaration and prayer on Sept. 7th.  This is to express support for marriage as a sacred institution ordained by God.  We are also urged to contact our Member of Parliament and ask him or her to protect the current definition of marriage.  This is a joint initiative of Canadian evangelicals, Jews, Catholics, and Protestants.

I hope that this is not out of place.  Just feel strongly about the subject.  As God's people we are called to defend righteousness.  To do so with grace and love, but to defend the biblical definition of marriage!!

God's Blessings to all.  Liz.

karmat

Good evening all.  Our computer is really acting strangely, so please forgive me for being absent and short.

I hope everyone has had a awesome weekend, and hopefully tomorrow evening, I will have some pictures of the Nantahala (Cherokee for "Land of the noon day sun) Gorge.

Night all!

Hello everyone,
It's been a good day today.  My OASIS choir sang for the church today, we were few in number but the quality was there!   :)  The service was great.  Pastor preached on Loneliness.  There are many aspects to that subject.

Jane it is good to read of Bev's praise report.  What a blessing to see improvement.  And thanks be to God for your insurance check!  It could not have come at a better time!

Etta Sue, I am not familiar with the 40 days of purpose.  Tell us about it.

Ruth Ann, I am glad to hear you are a little better.  May you continue to improve.  You are such an inspiratin to all of us here.

Pat Scott, hello!  You are one busy lady.  Thank you for all you do on our behalf here at CP.

Hello to all others, I know I forget who all has been here today, but I do read your posts and appreciate them!

Have a great holiday tomorrow, everyone!
Love, Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Liz - I greatly appreciate what your churches are trying to do in regard to the sanctity of marriage.  Please pray, while you're at it, for that same sanctity down here in the U.S.  Just as in your case, the vast majority want it left the way it is, but there are some powerful activists who are trying to change it.

Carol

We went to the Saturday night service - same sermon as Sunday - because it was  a Healing Service.  It was so touching to be surrounded by many with life-threatening disease in some cases.  Those who chose, could be annointed with oil and laying on of hands - we chose to kneel at the altar and have this very special show of compassion given to all.

Etta Sue:  I don't know if we have the same thing going on - we have missed almost three weeks of service and sorta out of the loop on what is going on.  So happy that Don is up to getting out a little.  My prayers for Jerry.  Oh, say - you can come and help me organize - I like to do that too.

Jane:  What a great thing that you have an insurance payment.  Super news.

Pat S:  Sorry that you had a sad memory day.  I hope that the pain of these days will diminish in time for you.

Karmat:  I didn't know that you were short - you don't need to be forgiven for being short - you are forgiven for being absent....:0)

Carol

Oh, Liz...  I really agree with you.  Canada has sure lost it as far as marriage is concerned.  It's just terrible here now.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention!

Now, it's time to say "Farewell August!"  I can't believe it!

September is here and so is our new Photo Challenge and Autumn will be here before you know it!
