Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi, there,

It's about 3:40 Nashville time and I just spoke with Papa John's son in law. He seems to be holding his own, is still in critical care and has assistance breathing. They say that there are signs of recognition of their voices, touch, etc., so he says to thank everyone for our prayers and good thoughts.

I'll be spending some time with my son this afternoon, so probably won't post later today.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

P.S. I spoke with my children in Atlanta without knowing of the shootings, but am very thankful that they were not involved in the incident and extremely sorry that it occurred.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

Oh, I'm so glad that I decided to check in here one more time before leaving to meet our SeniorNet friend.

Oh, Heavenly Father, please hear our prayers on Papa John's behalf...but help us to accept Thy will, O God!

In the Garden[/size]
(Click for Music)

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain

Ruth Ann, glad to hear that Papa John is holding in there.  While it hasn't been said as such I suppose they had to open his chest to get to his heart and put him on a heart/lung machine.  After that happens it is normal to be on a respirator for awhile.  His apparent recognition of voices and touch is a good sign.  They are probably keeping him very heavily sedated.

I had not heard of the Atlanta shooting until just now as we were out at church this morning, then went to lunch and didn't get home until almost 3 pm and my wife and I were both exhausted and laid down to rest.  I just now checked the Atlanta Journal website and found that this was in instance where a lady, who had been recently released from a mental facilities, shot her mother and the minister and then took her own life.  From all indications this was just an isolated instance, as tragic and is was.

Good Afternoon. I am glad to hear that Papa John may be improving in his recognition of voices and touch. That is good news.

I am taking it easy today, did a little laundry,  and took a shower and washed my hair. I still have a headache that woke me up about midnight.

There haven't been many posts today so I thought I would come in a post instead of just reading all y-all's posts.

'In the Garden' was my mother's favorite song.  It was sung by my great-nephew at her funeral.  This isn't sad memories.  Happy memories because my mother touched so many lives and did make a difference.

We had a wonderful service this morning.  Well, two of them.  We sang the song 'Show Me Your Ways'.  I don't remember of hearing it before but I loved the music and the words.  I am not a song/singing person but this song touched me.

Today was my day to run the lights.  The mezzanine is about 1½ up a flight of steps.  I was going down.  I thought I was at the bottom and wasn't but all of me got to the bottom real quick.  A man was behind me and helped me up.  I have sore muscles where I didn't know I had muscles because I knew I was falling and tried to catch myself.  Plus no skin about the size of a half-dollar on my right knee.  It almost made me sick to my stomach and that is what scared me.  When my husband cracked a leg bone, he was sick to his stomach.  But I faired both services and dinner quite well.  I am stiff and sore but, thank God, nothing is broken.

I am so happy to hear good news about Papa John.  During pray this morning, I said a silent prayer for Papa John and his dear family.

Jeanne Lee

Good to hear that Papa John seems to be recognizing family members.  Gene and I continue in our prayes for him and his loved ones.

It was a pretty day today - partly sunny but with some fluffy white clouds and some heavy dark ones.  The sun was warm so long as you were in a sheltered area, but the wind had a very cold bite to it.   I found out just how cold when I went back over to church this afternoon to take some pictures for the church website.  Brrrrr!

Seems as though cold germs are spreading around the world - do you suppose they're going through the web?  ::)  Now all of you invalids, get better fast!

Lee, I was happy to see about your work with prison ministries.  We've been part of Chuck Colson's prayer ministry for about 12 years now and until last year we handled the Angel Tree program at our church.  We turned it over to a much younger couple and they are doing a fantastic job with it.   ;D

Judy M.........

My mother and sister had the same debilitating arthritis and only those who are stricken with this desease really knows the pain and sufffering one goes through.  No man alive can tell you why it happened to you or anyone else in this world, and it's easy for me to say the following because I am not in your shoes.........

Turn it around Judy.  Our Lord has blessed you with the one thing millions, no, billions, don't have, and that's the recognition on your part that He "loves" you so much that He personally allowed a bunch of butchers almost whip Him to death, humiliate Him before man, then pound nails in His hands and feet.  Who else on this earth had the ability to (Or ever want to) take your sins and wash you clean?  We both know we are saved, and try as we may, we always feel we have fallen short of the mark with our Lord.  Not true.  We are perfect in His eyes because He sees us in eternity future.  Your pain will not even be a whiff of smoke in eternity.  And, please don't be fooled.  I'm no saint, I have many faults, and I recocnize this as do you.  Hey kiddo, your afliction (As toug as it is) is a blessing and the Lord wants to use it through your witness for His glory.  Keep up the good work. :-*

You just did to us ALL.

Elizabeth

Thanks Pat for the devotional.  I went to church today and that is rather a long journey.  Have to catch the 8AM coach lines, arrive at 8:35, spend the time at Starbucks until Sunday School at 9:30.  Service ends at 12PM, eat lunch, catch 1PM bus home.  Was blessed by the service, so worth the trip!

Continue to pray for Papa John & Cornelia and hope for the best...

Lee, you surely do give us much to think about.  Zacharia accepted Jesus, so past sins are buried.  It must be difficult being a Christian in a prison.  Goodness knows, it can be difficult anywhere.  We do have the freedom to choose how we respond to our circumstances, in any environment.  So that is a freedom Zacharia still enjoys.

Think my chicken is now ready to take out of the oven, so blessings to all.  Liz.

I am remembering Papa John and Cornelia in my prayers. I will hope for Gods will to be done and hope that He wants Papa John to be around for us a little longer.

Lee ~ I remember Steady Freddie ( Fred Ash) 6 ft 8 inches 280lbs. He drove pulling doubles for Duff and various companies that pulled doubles. (two trailers) He blew a steering tire on I-71 coming out of Louisville, Ky and was able to control the truck to the berm. He was white and quite the man. I can realize how big your man might have been. I will sure pray for him. And I pray for Steady Freddie as he has gone to see our Lord. He had a tumor of the brain.

Marilyn ~ I hope you are getting better. I hope your flu or whayever it is  is all but gone. My strength is in my thoughts of the Lord always.

I'm stopping in to check on Papa John.  Prayers for him and his family continue..............

It is so good to see even the slight improvement in Papa John's condition.  God is still on the throne and He is still an AWESOME GOD!  I continue to hold Papa John and his family up in prayer.

I was finally able to get a photograph of the wedding my pastors Ron and Bev officiated at on July 4th.  Bev was sick at the time, but prepared to do the wedding herself in the event Ron didn't get home from his cross country trip in time.  This was on a Friday and Bev went into the hospital on the following Monday...July 7.  Things progressed from there and she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 3rd.

This photo--that I wrenched from the bride's hands this morning--includes Ron and Bev's daughter, Sarah.  She is 18.

Came to CP to check on Papa John.  Thank the Lord for a slight bit of positive news.   Will keep praying...

Tonight, EE or Evangelism Explosion teams were recognized and came up on the platform to receive their certificate of graduation from one level to another and a pin with ?? on it.

I am part of the executive leadership team, so I handed out the certificates and congratulated everyone.

Pastor Charles Price was speaking on marriage and the issue of making "same sex"  unions legal and considered a marriage by our government.  He went right back to the garden of eden.   We had an interesting night.

I was sad to hear that Papa John is not well, he and Corneila are such a wonderful couple.  I have and will keep them in my prayers.

Marilyn I am pleased that you are feeling better.
