JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Welcome Caroleen

Etta Sue!  You have been playing in my paint - painting my words red.  Thanks - I see that I missed it & do appreciate your help.

Pat:  I meant to comment on your new picture - red is a great color for you.

Pat:  I could not get the music to play today.  Sometimes that happens - it is so interesting to read Jack's messages.  What a treasure you have to share with all of us and thank you for sharing.

The book sale is beginning tonight and we will move 25,000 books to the mall and hope that most of it sells.  It is a tremedous effort.  I am taking a break for a few hours now and then bedlam is over the entire weekend.  Carol

I found this in Animal Talk on SN, thought it was so cute I just had to share it with you.
DOG LETTERS TO GOD

Dear God: How come people love to smell flowers, but seldom smell one another? Where are their priorities?

Dear God: When we get to Heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?

Dear God: Excuse me, but why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not one named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride. I know every breed cannot have its own model, but it would be easy to rename the Chrysler Eagle the Chrysler Beagle!

Dear God: If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?

Dear God: Is it true that in Heaven, dining room tables have on-ramps?

Dear God: If we come back as humans, is that good or bad?

Dear God: More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.

Dear God: When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake hands to get in?

Dear God: We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent IDs, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

Dear God: Are there dogs on other planets or are we alone? I have been howling at the moon and stars for a long time, but all I ever hear back is the beagle across the street.

Dear God: Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?

Dear God: Can you undo what that doctor did?

CAT LETTER TO GOD

Dear God: Do you exist? I'm just curious. I don't care.

Hello everyone.  This has been an interesting discussion, with lots of involvement.  I appreciate the comments that were made.  Personally, I think a dress code is almost none existant anymore.  I love dresses and skirts, but seldom get to wear them during the week because of my work.  I don't have a problem with women wearing pants in church occasionally.  But I don't like seeing torn, faded, stained, baggy, sloppy ones.  It just doesn't look nice, and it doesn't project a picture of health, grace, and serenity, and joy in our faith.  I think our clothing should reflect our posturing and faith.  If we are servants, should we be wearing clothing that is revealing, sloppy, distasteful, or screaming for attention and recognition?  We are to be meek, and gentle spirits, and our clothing should reflect that.

Just a few thoughts.  Jen.

Janet

Jen, I agree, and that is a very refreshing post to read from a young lady.  Thank you!

Karma ~ If I am not mistaken the Primitive Quartet and the Inspirations sang at Park Chapel, if so I think it was one of the premier acts I have seen. They are not only great singers, but are humorous as well. I am sure Etta Sue will correct me if I am wrong, but I am almost sure that was who we went to see.

All this discussion only brings me back to the saying WWJD!

God Bless and may all have a blissful night and pleasant dreams!

Yes, Jen - I think you hit it right on the head!  Thank you!

There's a section of our forums that many don't visit and there's just so many lovely creations in there to view.

Our own Janet, is such an accomplished artist and I put several of her paintings in there last evening.

Please have a look!

Janet, that sure was a thought-provoking little story about the homeless man.  That's a good question he asked too at the end.  (I love that hymn as well.)

Jen, I appreciate your very mature posts in here.  For a young lady of your age, I sure could learn lots from you.  Thanks so much.

It was a good discussion.

I think everyone knows how I feel as we discussed this before so I won't repeat it at this time.

Well, I have been busy with a number of projects today ending tonight with a meeting at church with some young people working on a program for our Vacation Bible School.

But I read all the posts and enjoyed the discussion.  I am of the older generation but I am young in heart and I understand the need of making accommodations for the opinions and preferences of others.  I think that in years gone by we have placed too much attention on "Sunday go to meeting" clothes and maybe not enough on purity of heart and of life.

I like the trend toward more casual dress which says to the world that people don't have to dress a certain way to come to worship God.  And I like many of the contemporary songs.   We sing both contemporary and traditional songs in our worship.  We don't use musical instruments so we don't have any loud bands or anything like that.  I like the overhead projections which make it easier for me to sing without using a book.

I hope you all have a good night's rest.

To those of you that I forwarded "The burglar" to. the photo that didn't come through was of a little kitten hunkered down in the corner of a door way with a big ole gun point at it as the light came on.

Well I have been out in the shed moving boxes around to see what I have there and sweeping the floor. There was a rabbit living  up intil a few weeks ago. Between him and rats I had a mess to clean up. I will have to go through all the boxes. My last day of work at the library is June 27th so I will have plenty of time to get it all done. and stack all the boxes in one place ready to load the truck. I had get a portable cooler out that belongs to someone else. The boxes are all dussty as the door has never closed. When i came in I had to wash all the grit off my face and need to jump in the shower to get the rest off.

We have has some very interesting discussion today. I go along with what Jerry says it really doesn't matter how they dress. But we can set the example for the younger generation and hope the will pick up on it. My pastor was raised in a Holiness church He is a PK and he said he has heard enough clothesline preaching to last a lifetime and that he is not one of them.

Our music is some of both the old hymns and the more contemporary praise and worship. We have 3 guitars and the piano when Barbara is not on the road with the motorcycle ministry she and her husband have. We have had several bikers in their biker garb visting from time to time. Every now and then Barbara and Tom ride the bikes to church wearing their leathers. I have even worn my leather jaket with all the biker emblems on it  a few times. :o :o Yes I used to hang out withthe bikers , ;D all in my checkered past.  8) I have thought of taking the patches off the jacket and I will do that before I wear it again. One of these days I have my sone scan a photo of me sitting on the my friends bike.

Good Night now. I will leave you with that. ;D ;D

It was a very interesting day in our New Every Morning!  Good ideas and good comments.  I'm sure that we didn't agree with all but isn't it good that we can discuss?

Now, it's time to shut the door and open a new one!
