Morning Devotional...

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

1 Corinthians 2:9
[/b]

Six months had passed since I had heard the Words from God, "Create in me a clean heart, o Lord and renew a right spirit within me".

In that time I had come to see myself as the vilest sinner that had ever walked planet earth. I needed to be saved urgently. This was priority number one in my life! I had a great fear of dying in the state that I was in, as I knew from my Bible readings that I was going to Hell and that God would be Just in sending me there.

Close in with Christ; believe in Jesus my friends would tell me. What did they know? I wasn't going to deal with Christ; I was dealing with God directly. It was God that I was answerable to and not his Son!

Oh, what confusion, what torment of mind and soul, will there ever be an end to this? Is there no hope for a sinner like me? Such was my ignorance of the truth that after I had heard a sermon on "look unto me all ye ends of the earth and be ye saved" and another on "wash me and I shall be whiter than the snow" that I actually expected to see a difference in my skin tone after praying!

I was going about my business like a zombie. I couldn't believe that I believed! Something had happened in my life but I couldn't figure out where this person Jesus Christ fitted into the picture.

Travelling down to Glasgow by train, we pulled into Kingussie station. My carriage door blocked out the last three letters of the station nameplate, leaving 'KINGUS'. Splashes of dirt covered the 'US' part of the plate, while the 'KING' part was shining in the sun.

Like a penny dropping, I knew there and then that I was on the side of the King. Christ the Saviour of sinners was my Saviour. He had died for me and all my sins were forgiven.

I was saved there and then and I have never doubted that salvation since.

~Iain Mackenzie~

I Know Whom I Have Believed
Words by Daniel W. Whittle

I know not why God's wondrous grace
To me He has made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.

(Chorus)
But "I know whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day."

I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart.

(Chorus)

I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing men of sin,
Revealing Jesus thru the Word,
Creating faith in Him.

(Chorus)

I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days
Before His face I see.

(Chorus)

I know not when my Lord may come -
At night or noonday fair,
Nor if I'll walk the vale with Him
Or meet Him in the air.

(Chorus)
But "I know whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day."

!:55 am Powassan ON

It has been a full day.  We have been to a birthday party for our grand son, Victor.  He is growing go fast.

John rolled in at 10:30 and I was right behind him.  My he was tired.  He is to go out again on Sunday night or Monday AM.  I expect he will leace after Turkey on Sunday as that will give him time to relax and Not have to "push" to get to the delivery site.

We have had another beautiful day here in the north.  The temp has been up in the high 70's.  Everything is golden.  Tomorrow is camera day.

It was in the 80's when Sealtest finally ended the door to door delivery of milk.  Living in the Newmarket area we still had milk and  bread delivery, as well as Home Juice delivered large bottles of juice to the door.

Yes Pat I agree we will know all about the end times when we are in Heaven.  Until then the only thing that counts is Who is Lord of YOUR life?  Joshua says  As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.

Jos 24:15  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. KJV

I believe the choice is with us today as we come closer to His return.  Who are we going to chose, the world and its gods or the God of heaven who sent His son for us.

Those of you who have been praying for Bonnie I too thank you.  She is doing well and hurts on both sides are being healled.  They still have a long road ahead, but there is a light at the end which hasen't been extinguished.  Praise God for His patience and goodness.

Well it is time to head back to bed.
Night all

Good morning.  It's almost 2:30 am, and I can't seem to sleep tonight, or this morning actually.  I was in bed once, but finally got up.  I have those some times.  It goes that way for days and then I crash and sleep for a full day.  I don't know why.

Good morning, Ria.  I hope you have a wonderful day as you go about filling this one up with life.  I like the poem you posted by Brandon.

Now that I've popped in to say goodmorning, I think I'll try to get some sleep.  I've been in other discussions, looking at pictures, posting some.  I've used my sleepless time to browse. :)

G'night from the Oregon coast.   love, nita

Oh dear Ones,

I beg your forgiveness, neither Chris nor I realized this page existed and now that I've stumbled across it, shared it with Chris sitting next to me on his computer, I'm not so sure we "should" have found it.
A page like this could swell the head past the point of carrying it through a door........
We want to continue to come through the doors, doors that are open - doors that you've opened - doors to your heart.
Thank you for that, thank you for the hearty welcome.
Yes, and may I invite any and all to a cuppa, our door is always open too.

God bless.

In His love,

Margit and Chris too

A bright sunny day here in Indiana!!!  Plans are to get some groceries in, possibly mow the leaves, take my canine niece out to do her things while her Mommy and Daddy are at a football game, shower and leave here by 4:30PM to go to church tonight.  God willing, all will fall in place.

Boots ~ Congratulations on 50 lovely years.  Uh, I looked at your profile and it says you are in Illinois.  That was a long trip to Eastern Texas for your Anniversary dinner at Outback.   ;D ::) ???

Sarah ~ Good to see you dropping in for a word or two.  You sound happier now.  That is good.  You go, girl!  And keep lookin up!

Mieka ~ I don't think it is ever too late for hugs.....

Hi everyone
I want to thank you all for your wishes on our 50th Wedding anniversary.

Pat and Sonja those are really nice cards, you guys are so talented and we appreciate it.  Lee your smilies with the comment just ad the zero was clever also, but you know we men are not equal to the women in some things. I do know that you are a photo person and into sculpturing, so you certainly out do me in that department.  Lee I also know you play golf, and I could probably compete in golf.  LOL

Jeanne Lee, I remember you way back when I first came on the Senior net.  You gave me a tip on how to review some of the post by going up to the top and clicking the number instead of scrolling through all the post.  That was my first computer a Packard Bell with 3.1 windows and a dial up phone line.  It used to drive me nuts, I would be typing a message to post and if I stopped for a minute I would be booted off line and lose all I had typed.  Well, I am modern now, always on line with the cable modem.  I still know very little about computers, but could not live with out it.  LOL
Jeanne, thanks for the review post tip you gave me.

Pat I loved the song you posted "till the storm passes".  It reminded me of the one "The Anchor Holds"  Do you know it?
The chorus goes...

The anchor holds
Tho the ships battered
The anchor holds
Tho the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I face life's raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.  Well I better shut up and let some one else talk a while.
Have a nice day
Boots

Etta thanks for the wish, and I changed my profile.  I thought it meant where were we born since it came after the birthdate question.
I live in East Texas.
BTW I lived in Evansville Indiana for 5 years, attended the University of Evansville.  Not too far from where you are now I believe.

Boots, please add your birthday!  We have some really wild Birthday Parties in here!

If you go to the top and click on Calendar, you can see who's birthday is coming up.  It's all done automatically with the software.

Glad you enjoyed the cards.

I don't think I know that chorus, Boots.  But I'm sure that Chris will find it if possible.

Thank you Pat for posting Brother Iain's mesagetoday. I have been wondering about you Iain, How are you? Where have you been?

I woke up with a scripture in my mind that I have been wondering about it is: Job 22:27 You will pray to Him and He will hear you: and you will pay your vows.
My question is what does pay your vows mean in todays vernacular? Does it refer to our tithes? Is it getting right with God.?
The next verse says: You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you: And light will shine on your ways.

It is good to see so many posts yesterday. Very chatty weren't you all.

Be back later.

Well it is amother beautiful day.  The two younger girls are outside playing with the puppies.  There are still 4 to go, anyone want a cocker spaniel pup?   ;D  Melaura spent the night at Bonnie's to babysit Drake this morning.  He is a dear wee one.  :)

John is going to be cutting up the remaining wood while I scurry around the house dusting and Vaccuming and "baby proofing" the house.  We will be having Bonnie and Sean and the boys for turkey.

We have a problem up here with Chinese beetles that have been imported into the country to decrease the weed purple leustripe. (SP?) in the autumn they invade our homes as they try to hibernate.  The problem is that they bite and stink.  When they come in it is in the 100's not just one or two.  I have to spray and spray with Raid to kill them then clean up and respray with something like Fabreeze.  Do you have this problem in the south?

Well John is here got to go, I will check in later,

Love to all JudyB

Good morning all! Pat, thanks for the devotional and that wonderful song; I love it! Hi, Boots! I lived in Evansville from the time I was 2 until I was 16. I loved that city so much! I felt like it was "old home" week when I read your post! I was born in Vincennes; are you familiar with that city? Congrats on your anniversary; Gary and I are not quite half way to 50 years of marriage, but we married late, so we may not make that! LOL Jenny, Gary was reading the posts with me, and said he had great memories of visiting your city when he was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford back in the 70s; so I guess it is "old home" week for him, too! I hope all of you have a blessed day!
Love in Him,
Cami

Hi everyone.  Already a number of postings for the day.

Boots, I failed to wish you a happy 50th anniversary.  You all have a few years on my wife and I.

We had a call early this morning from my cousin's wife saying they were in Atlanta for the weekend and so we are getting together tomorrow afternoon and evening.  He is the cousin we had hoped to visit in East Lansing, Michigan back in early September but then had to cancel our plans.  Their son, who is in college, is also with them.  We are looking forward to seeing them as we haven't seen them since my Mother's funeral in January.

I wore myself out yesterday so am taking it easy today.  See you all later.

Sue

Good Morning Everyone

After a long day yesterday, spent helping my best friend attempt to clean some of the clutter in her tiny home, I came home and checked my emails and posts but just did not have the energy for much else.

My muscles are still a little sore from the work yesterday, but I'm sure they will loosen up as the day goes on.

I'm waiting for my BIL to come by, he needs to use the garage to work on his car so had best get moving and get a few things tidied before he arrives.

Sue

Thanks for the devotional Pat & Iain.

So many folks posting and I'm still finishing breakfast.  It is 8AM here and slow to start this morning.  Lots of housework to tackle and must wash all the good china for our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

JudyB, glad that things are getting better for your daughter and will continue to pray.

Etta Sue, you surely do brighten the day.  Love the happy bears!

Must go now.  Will check in this evening.  Have a wonderful day all...Liz.

CAMI........

Did Gary know a Jim and Joan, from San Bernadino.  They were our next door neighbours in Banbury for a while late 60s early 70s.   They preferred to have a change from base for a while and bought a house.  Joan had three lovely daughters from a previous marriage...she was from the Philippines...beautiful looking lady..long black hair.
Jim and Joan were gregarious people and their home was always full of folks from the base.  They invited us all to the barbecues....made us very welcome.

My own memories of Upper Heyford are very, very, unhappy ones but I praise God that He brought me through the "Jordan onto Dry ground"....

It's a lovely afternoon and I am about to go for a ride....

Speak again,

Jenny.

Marilyn

I just have to share with you how talented Happydog is. I opened the back to to call him in and he wasn't there, a few more calls and here he comes walking back over a 6 foot fence covered in ivy. He must have climbed the fence because he sure can't jump it.. When he was 2 years old he learned how to climb out of a cyclone fence pen by walking up the corner to the top and jumping off.

Here's the article on the funeral of hockey player, Dan Snyder which was very near to where I live.

It was quite touching to see on the television.  Heatley attended as well and was treated so kindly by all.

Cami, yes I know where Vincennes is located, across the Wabash river from Mt. Carmel Illinois if memory serves me right.
I see you are in Urbana now, so more home week I spent 5 years in Effingham Illinois 1964 to 1969.  This was probably before you were born.  Just wanted you to know I am acquainted with your part of the country.  I went to watch Dick Buksis (sp) play football at the U of I when he was there.

Larry thanks for your happy 50th wish.  I hope you have a nice visit with your cousin.  Now be careful in wearing your self out... we old men cannot stand too much you know. (grin) ;) ;D

I have had sufficient rest from cutting my grass, I think I will bring up enough energy to go watch the game on TV.

Hoping you are having a nice day

Boots ~ Evansville is about the farthest city in the state away from me :o  My g-niece went to one of the university/colleges in Evansville.  I can't remember which.  I have been to the zoo at Evansville....starts with an 'M' I think.  Got out my trusty atlas.  Mesker Zoo.  University of Southern Indiana and University of Evansville.  Now if you get a map of Indiana, then draw a line from Evansville to Indianapolis...then draw a little bit farther, you will see Lapel.  I am only 1½ miles from Lapel.  Okay....east Texas.  My sister had a place on Toledo Bend Resevoir.  Her address was Zwolle, LA....not too far from Pendleton Bridge.  We would go to Hemphill, Jasper, Lufkin and Nacogdoches to waste the time away.  Are you close to any of those towns?

Cami ~ I was through Urbana going and coming from Calgary this summer.  You are probably the closest to me other than Jerry.  Urbana is almost due west of me.

Well, I got my groceries, mowed the leaves, took Libby out and have showered.  Now I am almost ready to leave by 4:30PM.  Tonight is the start of our '40 Days of Purpose'.  I have signed up to be a host home but probably won't be a host home since we need leaders and then, too, I am 24 miles from my church.  Oh, well!  Just hope I can go to another home.

Will try to slip in here in the morning.
