JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Here we are!  We're in our new forum!  Let's all thank the Lord for allowing us to have this place where we can gather to talk about Him and what He's done in our lives.

There's  lots to do to get this place back to being "home".  I have lots to learn.  So hopefully, everyone will be patient for awhile while I do just that!

Let's all remember to read the Policy Statement so that we will feel comfortable with it.

Morning Devotional...

Thou art my God, and I will praise Thee: Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.       Psalm 118:28

The Apostle Paul bluntly describes our brief existence on earth: "I am nothing" (2 Cor. 12:11), and "in me (that is, in my flesh) flesh dwelleth no good thing" (Rom. 7:18).

He tells Timothy "we brought nothing into this world and...we can carry nothing out" (1 Tim. 6:7).

The Lord told the disciples that "without Me ye can do nothing" (Jn. 15:5).

John the Baptist declared the only sensible action of man before His Creator, "He must increase but I must decrease" (Jn. 3:30).

When we see ourselves as we are, it should turn our eyes to the Lord that we might exalt and praise Him alone.
                                                                 ~Warren Henderson~

Thou art my God, I'll Thee exalt; my God, I will Thee praise.
Give thanks to God, for He is good:
His mercy lasts always.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW HOME!!!

Pat, congratulations!  It looks excellent!  I am tempted to explore the whole thing right now.  I'm so impressed.  I hope you're feeling a little easier with your jaw.  I'm sorry I couldn't make it out with my mom and sister last night.  But I would still like to meet with you, maybe Friday evening?  I'll call you either tonight or tomorrow evening to verify.

Papa John, how about sending some of that warm Florida weather our way?  Here we are almost in the middle of April, and we have snow, dampness, cold.  :D.

Al, I was just reading over some of the previous days' posts.  I have to say I agree with your statement that the problem is not simplicity, it's our hearts.  We've been praying for a special person to return to the Lord.  But I sometimes forget that it's not always what we do that matters, the Lord has to work a change in their heart first.  Otherwise it's not true repentence.  I push to see results, and I forget that God is working on a higher schedule than I.

Marilyn, praying for you!  I realize it can be tough, my aunt quit cold turkey years ago, and it was a battle for her.  But she's not saved.  You have the benefit of the Lord's lovingkindess and gentle guidance.  God bless you.

Karma and Nard, thanks again for opening your home to us.  It was so very kind of you.  God bless you.

Well, I have another full and busy day at the office.  I'll try to pop on when I get home, but I'm pretty much out the door again almost right away.  God bless you all and have a lovely day.  Jen.

Papa John

Congratulations Pat for a job well done.

We have a beautiful morning here in Bradenton, Florida.

Mercy Child, I am sorry about your winter weather in April.  Actually it is 76 degrees here with sunshine.

Pat, the verses you suggest in this morning's devotional really remind us how humble we should be as we stand before God.

Gal 6:3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  (NIV)

James 4:10  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  (NIV)

Again Pat, thank you for all your work in making this site possible.

- - - Papa John     ;D

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

It's so good to see you all figuring out things.

The letter that you are faced with when you register on here is a letter put in by the software.  I had a query about that by someone as to the wording but I haven't figured out yet how to re-word that!

Also, Marilyn, I'm praying for you as you go from Day to Day.

I also have to probably put my cat down today.  He has crystals in his bladder and it would mean surgery to fix it and that's out of the question for me so this is sad news for me.

Hi Everyone, certainly an exciting day yesterday and today as we discover our new CP home.  I also want to express a big thank you to Karma and Bernard for providing such a hospitable place for us for the past few days and to wish them continued success with their website.

We did have a busy day yesterday and feel rather exhausted today.  It is really chilly and rainy here and I had to put on a sweatshirt for the first time in several days to be warm.  However, the yard is greening up.  We had a nice luncheon yesterday.  We had a choice of chicken salad and fruit, grilled chicken Ceaser salad or kish (not sure that is spelled correctly).  I had the chicken salad and it wasn't great but the fruit was nice.  The service was very slow and I had to leave before the key lime pie was served for dessert to get to Calvin Cove for the singing.  However, Pat brought my piece of pie home and will have it with my lunch today.  Last evening we met with 11 other friends for a delicious dinner and Christian fellowship.  Our Interim Associate Pastor was surprised and seemed very pleased with the quilt the quilters gave him.  I took some pictures but they aren't great.  However, will try to post a couple of them in the photography section.

Etta Sue, Syracuse won the men's Basketball Championship and the University of Connecticut women won the women's championship.

Sonifo, you asked in a posting yesterday what I met about Elijah being swept away.  I am referring to 2 Kings, Chapter 2:11  "As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind."

Marilyn, I hope you get the place next to your Son and family.  Glad to see you are working on stopping smoking again.

Ruth Ann, glad to read that your week went so well and that you had such a delightful time with your family.  I am sure that helped you relax from the tension of the week.

This is getting too long so will stop for now.   ::)

Pat: Can y ou put my photo in for me, I can't seem to get from my website to here. Thanks Marilyn

Good morning everyone.  This is so awesome.  Pat has done an outstanding job putting this together.

Larry~thanks for that info.  I will be sure to read that today.  Sounds interesting.  My husband had told me about a guy that was taken by the Lord, but didn't know what book it was in.  I will be sure to tell him.  Thanks

I am off to the library with Chandraya this morning.  Hope you all have a special day.

Janet

As usual, I'm late, but O WOW!!  What a lovely new home!  Now, when we get the furniture all arranged to our liking, and those painting up on the walls, we are going to be so comfortable in here!  Great job, Pat!  I know we have no concept of all the hard work that has gone into making this happen, but we sure do appreciate all your efforts! :) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Karma and Nards, I just went back to your "house" to make sure we left it all clean and tidy, and I left you a plate of macadamia nut, white chocolate chip cookies on the counter as a small thank you for your wonderful hospitality these past days.  You're the best! :-* :-* :-*

Now I must go see what else is here, in the other rooms of our new house!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Etta Sue

A fairly long post replying to yesterday's post.

Karma ~ I sent the recipe by email.  Thanks for asking.  Edit:  Will put the recipe in our NEW HOME.

Marilyn ~ That will be wonderful living next door to your son and grandkids.  Will you be able to have your dogs with you?

Pat ~ Isn't it great to have unexpected company?  I like that better than planned company.  Less work on me to get the house ready for company... ;) ;)

Sonja ~ I haven't taken any sunsets lately...it has been cold and gloomy here for a week.  And I have finished Week 4 of my lessons...
http://ettasue.homestead.com/PageFour.html  ...You may check them out here.  They are getting easier or I am getting smarter.  Probably easier!

Papa John ~ I have a comfort and a peace in my heart knowing I respect God and, in return, through Christ Jesus, that I have the assurance of everlasting life and that He will be with me each day.  I am so thankful that I am a child of God. I pray that everyone who doesn't have this comfort and peace that they will someday before it is too late.  It is never too late to become a child of God but may be too late NOT to become a child of God.

Janet ~ I am so thankful your blood pressure is fine now.  Slow down or you may be down!  :-\

Al ~ Yes, closure with God is simple.  Once you know in your heart, you think,...."Well, that was easy.  Why have I wasted so much of my life when it was easy after all?"  But then, it was God's timing...not ours.

Marilyn ~ Jerry and I had a great lunch.  We were going to Texas Roadhouse but it didn't open until 4pm.  So we went to El Camino Real...there is one restaurant in Noblesville but we went to a new one south of me.  Lots of Mexican men who work in construction having lunch in there.  That area of the county is an on-going change with new homes, schools, businesses and conveniences.  This county is bounding with change.  After lunch, we went to Super WalMart to get some groceries in for the freezer.  I had help bringing the bags in from the car.... ::) ::)

Karma ~ Your story of the little girl made a tear come to my eye also. Isn't God's glory wonderful?  :'( :'(

Janice ~ Jerry said he saw the same thing on Anthony's page.  I didn't see it.  When he was here yesterday, he, too, said it was gone now.  And it was the site that Pat is building.

Jeanne ~ I am so sorry that the warm weather I sent to you turned south.  :-\  But warm weather is on the way.  God promised us seasons so spring is on the way.

Ruth Ann ~ Glad your trip was fruitful.  Isn't it great to be back home?

Sonifo

Etta Sue~That is some awesome stuff you are doing!!!  I am going to have to try to do week 4 now.  I love it.  Good job!!

Janet~you had mentioned a story you heard on the tv about a couple in Wy.  what was it about?

Marilyn

I have posted a couple of recipes to get our kitchen section going and Janice has also posted one for Yummy Pudding.
Pat were you able to save any of the recipes from the other forum. I am so sorry to hear about your Victor. Our prayers will be with you as you make that dreaded decision whether or not to put him down. I know that Geordie will miss him too. Oh Pat this is such a hard thing to deal with I am in total sympathy with you as I sit here with tears streaming down my face I know how you must feel.

Janet thank you so much for going in to make sure we left Karma and Nards place clean and leaving them some cookies on the counter. How sweet of you.

Etta Sue I most certainly will be able to take my dogs with me, if my dogs aren't welcome neither am I. Gilbert told his landlord that I have 2 med. large, dogs and 1 lap dog. He had no objections, in fact he had told Gilbert some months ago that he could get a dog. Well I have washed my car and now I must get myself going here and get those errands done.

I shall return.
God bles everyone.
