JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

A big welcome to Running, and Happy Birthday to Joan!

I found this and thought you might enjoy reading it.

HIGHWAY 109

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile
They said had run the light
That caused the six-car pileup
On 109 that night.

When broken bodies lay about
And blood was everywhere,
The sirens screamed out elegies,
For death was in the air.

A mother, trapped inside her car,
Was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air:
"Oh, God, please spare my boys!"

She fought to loosen her pinned hands;
She struggled to get free,
But mangled metal held her fast
In grim captivity.

Her frightened eyes then focused
On where the back seat once had been,
But all she saw was broken glass and
Two children's seats crushed in.

Her twins were nowhere to be seen;
She did not hear them cry,
And then she prayed they'd been thrown free,
"Oh, God, don't let them die!"

Then firemen came and cut her loose,
But when they searched the back,
They found therein no little boys,
But the seat belts were intact.

They thought the woman had gone mad
And was traveling alone,
But when they turned to question her,
They discovered she was gone.

Policemen saw her running wild
And screaming above the noise
In beseeching supplication,
"Please help me find my boys!

They're four years old and wear blue shirts;
Their jeans are blue to match."
One cop spoke up, "They're in my car,
And they don't have a scratch.

They said their daddy put them there
And gave them each a cone,
Then told them both to wait for Mom
To come and take them home.

I've searched the area high and low,
But I can't find their dad.
He must have fled the scene,
I guess, and that is very bad."

The mother hugged the twins and said,
While wiping at a tear,
"He could not flee the scene, you see,
For he's been dead a year."

The cop just looked confused and asked,
"Now, how can that be true?"
The boys said, "Mommy, Daddy came
And left a kiss for you.

He told us not to worry
And that you would be all right,
And then he put us in this car with
The pretty, flashing light.

We wanted him to stay with us,
Because we miss him so,
But Mommy, he just hugged us tight
And said he had to go.

11.15 p.m.

I just popped in to see if any more new re Papa John before I go to bed. Then I saw Pat's latest post re "The Tie that Binds".

Pat.  I miss my darling friend Amy (Esmeline) and Lucille her sister-in-law.  We used to go to the women's meeting at the Evangelical Church where we all lived sometime ago.  How often we sang "Blest be the Tie that Binds". Now they are gone to be with the Lord and I am left here, missing them especially Amy.,  every day I think of her.  Amy had this as one of her funeral hymns...The church was packed, no  standing room.

Amy came here from Jamaica in the 60s.  She never went back there, said England was now her home. She had six children and all did well.  She brought them up in the Pentecostal church and was a firm but loving mother.  At first she lived in one room and had to share a bath and kitchen with other families....She never had a holiday and was terribly homesick but she had married Alanzo and made her life with him.  She suffered much racial prejudice in her life but always forgave and prayed for those who despitefully used her.
She would walk for miles to visit the sick.  She couldn't spare pennies for the bus fare.  She would give her last crust to help another..........MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND AND SISTER AMY!
She died from bowel cancer, still praising our Lord.

This was our hymn.  We shall be together one day. "The fellowship of human hearts is like to that above".
John Fawcett was of the same ilk.

Thanks Pat for your input..I am too upset now...

Goodnight God bless,
JENNY.

I phoned again and Papa John's room number had changed, so that's why I've had no answer this afternoon when I called.

He is doing well. He now owns a couple of new stents.

Cornelia says to tell everyone thanks for the prayers.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

Praise God that Papa John is doing well, and that they found the problem before it became a bigger one!  I pray he will have a fast recovery and soon be back with us here on CP.

Thank you, dear Ruth Ann, for the report!

Ruth Ann, thanks for the news about Papa John.  I didn't find out about his hospitalization until just about 1/2 hour ago and came here hoping there'd be some word.  Praise God that things were taken care of quickly.

I'm so pleased to hear that Papa John has been looked after.  It brings back many memories of the times when my husband had been hospitilized for heart problems.  It is a time that I will never forget, and will never wish on anyone!

Hi MIEKA...and all my wonderful friends here at CP  :D  Please don't hold it against me if I don't mention each of you by name ... my brain is a bit on overload lately.  :-\

The anniversary of my daughter Jean's birthday is Thursday.  She would have been 50.  Nita had a dream recently about this day and we have decided to go out to the beach after our Women's Ministry meeting Thursday and release some balloons in honor of her (and maybe Bev, too).  This is what was done at her memorial service nearly 4 years ago.  Each family member held a balloon filled with carnation seeds.  The balloons were pink and white because her favorite flowers were pink and white carnations.  After a brief word from her pastor and prayer, the balloons were released to go and spread the seeds wherever they would land.  A symbol of how her life and testimony would live on where ever the seed had been sown in lives of others.  It was a beautiful thing to do ... Nita and I will do a mini-repeat of it on Thursday.

I am so grateful that Papa John has been in contact with those who can bring the word of his condition to us here.  I'm glad he has been helped and will be soon returning to us ... alive and well!

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Ruth

I am so glad to read that Papa John is on the road to better health.

With Sue loosing her hubby at an early age it brings back memories.

It was a day of sun and rain followed by a much cooler evening.

Sue if you do not silence MSN with me I will never get my posting done.

Mieka you are so beautiful.

With any kind of luck I will get the rest of my reading done.

Blessings
Ruth

Good evening all.  I am glad to hear that Papa John is fairing well.  I am hating that he had to go through all that, but I would hate the alternative worse.  If you read this Papa John

WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Today was a nice day.  Travis and I played alot, and I had my women's Bible study tonight.  That is always a good time.

I will continue through the forums and see what I can see.  If I don't get back in here -- Good night/morning, and have an awesome Wednesday.

Pat

Well, at Jarvis Street Baptist Church, we sang it following ever communion service.  That was so nice.

"Blest be the Tie" gives me the warm fuzzies Pat.  We used to sing it when new members joined the church.  I can see where it would be especially nice after communion service too.

Jane:  This is a nice thing for you to do, remembering your daughter..... letting balloons go.... and especially nice about the seeds in them.  I had never heard of anyone doing that before.  Its a nice way to remember your daughter.

I'm just "popping in" to see if there was anything further on Papa John, but I guess "no news is good news".

I too will be happy when he is able to be back fellowshipping with us once again.

We just saw on the 11:00 news that the town of Hoosick Falls had a power surge that knocked out all the electric in town and fried appliances all over the place - TV's, VCR's, freezers, computers... I guess anything that was turned on at the time.   A tree came down on wires, crushing them together as they broke which somehow caused a huge surge of power and started some fires as well.  No report of anyone being hurt, but the town is in a declared state of emergency.

My posting seems to have been lost in space.....So will try again.

Glad to learn that things are going well with Papa John and will continue to pray for them.

Marilyn, you are certainly being tested these days.  That lady wants to cause trouble and God can certainly deal with her.  He dealt with the rats!

Read about a new Bill that was passed in Canada and if approved by the Senate, will make it  a criminal offense to even take out an ad with Scripture reference to verses about homosexuality.  Can carry a penalty of up to five years in prison.  It was referred to as 'Bible as hate speech' bill.  Seems like the rights of religious believers are heading the way of  the Coptic Church.

Running the Road:  You have come to a site where people speak freely about their faith.  James 4:8 reads, "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you."

I spent years searching for truth and found it exists in a person, Jesus Christ! Read or re-read John 14:6.  Sometimes prayers are slow to be answered and there is always a reason.  Trust God, he is real.  I will certainly pray for you and hope that you will continue to post.  God Bless, Liz.

I'm late!
