Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hello everyone!!  Yet another gorgeous day in WEstern North Carolina.  We are going to try and go to the county fair tonight, so that should be fun.  Saturday, we are going to Gatlinburg, TN to see the Warbird Memorial Weekend.  It is like an airshow, but not as formal.  Just lots of flying.  Pretty cool especially since I have a "flight" challenge over on DPChallenge.

Glad to see everyone popping in.  Running, it is really good to see you back.  Hang on to that knot.  Like Iain said, on the other end of the rope is an anchor!

Take care all and have a wonderful day.

Just hurrying around here and getting ready to go out for the evening.

My thoughts went back to when Jack was going to dialysis and how I was awakened each morning to the singing of this hymn.  He used to get up first as it took him longer to get ready and as soon as he got into the shower, he'd start to sing and this is what he sang:

Victory in Jesus
(Click to hear music)
Words and Music by Eugene. M. Bartlett

I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

Hi Pat:

Great reading what Jack wrote.  I want to take more time and read it slowly later.

I used to enjoy listening and talking to Jack.

Thanks for the devotional.

I love that hymn.  Of the "old" songs, I think it is probably one of my favorites.   We should claim the victory each and every day.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Hello Pat: Yes I am back on line. I have had one terrible time trying to get this computer going. It would not boot up until I finally figured out I had to reset the time and date. I am not a computer tech but I got it going. It will take me awhile to catch up on the reading and praying here but I will have lots of time to do so.

They could not install the USB port to download my camera but my sone is going to downl;oad it on his computer and will email the photos to me. I have 19 on there now.

I quit the lady in Trinidad and got another job with a 94 yr. woman who is just amazing. She has no mdeical problems and only takes Tylenol for pain in her back. She uses a walker and is legally blind but just a sweetheart. I love the little old ladies.

Going now to play catch up. also gotta do the email that is backed up.

Yea, Welcome back Marilyn.

Sorry about the computer woes!

Welcome to Running the Road,  how did you enjoy that beautiful song "Victory in Jesus".

I am playing it right now and my Japanese student who lives in my home is listening to the music.  She is not a christian but we are praying for her.

Hi everyone.  Have had a busy day and for the most of it I couldn't get on the Internet.  After finally getting through to my Internet Service Provider I found it wasn't the service but a problem with my network and it just needed to be recycled by turning it off and then back on.  However, it gave me a chance to do some other work I needed to do for our SeniorNet Learning Center.  Then after lunch I had to drive over to the dentists office, which is about 45 minutes from my home and have a filling and get my teeth cleaned (another $220 expense) but it had to be done.

Pat, Iain and Jenny I benefited from all of your devotional words this morning.  I have just read them and Pat, I do remember that fine sermon from Jack but sure good to read it again.

Ria, thanks for translating that prayer.  Kathy, I agree with you on Ria's fine translation skills and her ability to write in English so we all can read it.

Janet, what a wonderful project in creating a family history from the tapes.  Several years ago my mother wrote a multi-page history of her life, particularly her early life and before my dad passed on my sister sat down with my dad and got a bit of his early history.  I cherish both of those documents.

Etta Sue, I am ashamed of you passing up an opportunity to go out to lunch.  I do hope you are thinking straighter tomorrow if you have that opporunity.   ;D ;D ;D

Pat, do they cook anything on the Pampered Chef items to let you try them out during the party?  Hope you have a great time this evening and thanks for the raisin bread.  It has been a long time since I have had raisin bread.

Judyb, sure sorry to read tha Melaura is sick with the flu.

Marilyn, sure sorry to read that your computer couldn't be adapted to the USB port but it sounds like Gilbert will be able to help you out until you can get a new computer.

Ruth Ann, glad to hear an encouraging report regarding Papa John.   Sure hope the tests find the problem.

Chris, thanks for the picture and the your words of encouragement that Pat posted here for us all to read.  That is such a beautiful picture.

Karmat, hope you enjoy the county fair.  The country fair in our county just ended last Sunday.  Sorry to say I have never attended it but our daughter went this year with some friends.  I just don't have the physical energy to attend such an event anymore.

Marilyn, glad to see you are back online and that you found a better place to provide your care.

Ruthie, you are setting the right tone with your student.

A special hi to everyone I haven't mentioned by name.  I was glad to see your postings and the same for those who follow for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

My wife finished her jury duty for the case she involved with but still has to call in tonight to see if she will be called back tomorrow for one final day.  She is very tired and therefore hopeful that she will be dismissed and not have to go back.

Running - what our brother Iain has told you is so, so true!  If our salvation depended upon our "hanging on," then none would be saved.  But it doesn't.  It depends solely upon HIS hanging on to us!  Phil. 1:6 says, "...being confident of this one thing, that He Who began a good work in us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."  He began it, and He will complete it.  He's the best Physician there ever was - He's never lost a patient and never will!

Wonderful words, Al Moak!  Thanks for that.

Now, I'm leaving!  Talk to you all later.

Whew!  My eyes are crossed!  A lady who write tutorials for Paint Shop Pro asked me to be a tutorial tester for her.  I found some mistakes in her last lessons and not only showed her what was wrong but suggested a fix for it.  So I am her Tut Tester!  I just got done today with her last 6.  Really challenging since I have to put myself in novice mode and read and do what each and every line says to do.  And yes, I did find some errors and have send the errors and solutions back to her.

And Larry, maybe it was a good thing I didn't go out to eat with Ivalou today.  I just got back from there and when I went in, I woke her up.  Seems she did some heavy duty housework and wore herself out!

I am praying that Papa John is improving second by second and will soon be back to posting again.

Good night, y'all!

I'm here ... a bit earlier (or later) than usual, but I'm here!  :P

After our Women's Ministry meeting today, Nita and I went out to the ocean shore and visited a while before releasing some balloons in honor of Jean's birthday.  She would have been 50 today.   :o  That's right FIVE OH ... 50!   Now, how can that be, since I'm such a young thing myself? hmmmm  Well, I'd love to have her near to discuss this, but I'm sure she is enjoying being in the Presence of the Lord far more than being with her mother.

I talked with a friend yesterday and she read a letter she had received from my grandson Tim ... Jean's eldest and my #1 grandson ... He is in Iraq and wrote a beautiful letter telling of how he, each day, finds something for which he is thankful there...then he passes the good word on to those around him.  He is definitely living in the NOW of our Lord's love and provision.  He says he wants to be thankful for all things and not complain (even when the temperature is 153ยบ and the sandstorms limit visibility to 20 feet) because he does not want to spend the next 40 years in that desert wilderness like the Israelites did!  :P  That's my boy!   ;D  He included a list of prayer requests and at the top was his wife and two sons.  He is grateful for a supportive family ... even mentioned his love for his praying Grandma (aaahhh).

I am continuing in prayer for all those who are ailing this day, and I know our Father has the precise answer for each of us.  I love all the devotional thoughts and songs expressed here.   :)  Thank you all, so much!

I'll probably be back later ... but just in case, I'm snagging a piece of that raisin bread Pat left on the counter.   :P
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

;D Hi Ms Etta Sue  ;D
maybe it was a good thing I didn't go out to eat with Ivalou today.
I am very glad you did not go to eat a Chinese today  ::)

But I did see a sign in a Chinese Pet Store today for you.
"Buy one dog, get one flea..."

(my friends seem to like this,  :-\ I have no idea why it is funny.)  ;D

Ms Pat, I like the devotional very much today. (((hug))).

Ms Ruthie, I did not know you have a student live with you, Please tell her a Nin Hao  8).

Ms Marilyn  ;D I am Glad you are back to the CP again, I did miss you. I do hope you will get everything to work.

;D HELLOOOOOOoooooooo  8) To everyone, I only came to read today, I can not believe how much there is to read on the CP now. I have SO much I have not yet got to see and I feel bad because I find things so old now and I wish I did see them. So please let me know every time you make a post ok.  ;D 8) ;D

And I love you Ms Ria, I am glad you are here on the CP.

Hi Ms Jane  ;D

(i had to fix a bad spell)  :-\ :-[ :P

Janet

I got a big laugh out of "Buy one dog, get one flea!" Mieka!! ;D ;D  Do you really not see why it is so funny?  Dogs often have fleas......sounds like FREE.... ;D ;D ;D Thanks for sharing that one!

Jane, I'm so happy you heard from your grandson, and that he is staying close to the Lord while in Iraq, even in that terrible heat.   Can you even imagine 158 Degrees??  Oh, my!  Prayers and blessings to you, Jane.

Hi, Marilyn!  My, you have had so many changes in your life these past months.  I pray they will all be for good;  just keep on trusting!  I love you.

We have checked out a couple of the new programs coming on TV----they are just AWFUL!!  That one called "Las Vegas" is nothing short of pornography.  Why can't we have clean programs?  That's why I usually turn it off and get on the computer, on CP!

Larry, I'm glad your computer problem was easily remedied.  You do a lot!  I hope Pat doesn't have to serve another day on jury duty.  It is very tiring.

Pat, hope you're having fun at the Pampered Chef party!

I am going to go to bed and read a while.  See you tomorrow.

Everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was.

Here I am again. I did have my doctor appointment yesterday. She has ordered more blood tests. Another 5 vials needed to be taken.
I went over to the hospital lab today, boy are they good in that lab. I am so hard to get blood out of, no decent veins. That Phlebotemist (sp) got it on the first try.  Thank God.
Tomorrow I am going to the eye doctor. I haven't had an eye exam in about 7 or more years and I see flashes in my left eye from time to time.
I go back to the doctor on Oct. 2. for a physical. I did get the prescription for the Wellbutrin (anti depressent) that will take away the cravings to smoke. I may have to have surgery later on to correct a problem I have. I have to see a specialist first.

I just got home from going shopping at the dollar Store with Gilbert and the kids. He gave me $20 for me to spend.  He is getting better with his thoughtfulness. I do love that kid.

It's almost bedtime but I thought I'd check in here quickly first.  Work tomorrow, and Gene has a transport that he has to pick up at 8:00 a.m. :(

I had a planning board meeting tonight and it almost didn't come off.  It was supposed to start at 7:00 and there was no quorum until 7:12.  Did finally get underway, though and then when I came home we found there was a championship pool match on and that's what we've been watching.  Just about all I ever do watch is some sports, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  Oh, and the evening news, of course.   ;D

Hi everyone.  So many posts to read.  The devotionals were great and Love all the music.  I am tired today and not too perky, so will simply wish all of you the comfort of God's Blessings.  Liz.

Wow 8 people online here. Hi to all of you.

I finally got all caught up on my email. On Yahoo I had 295 junk mails. I hate that.

Tomorrow after the eye doctor I am going to cut off some curtains for all the windows in my house.  Bea gave me a bunh of curtains but they are all long enough to make two out of one. So I will be sewing tomorrow provided my eyes haven't been dilated and I can see. Hopefully I will be able to drive.

I'll say good night now. Hey cami I hope you get feeling better real soon.

Hi Marilyn.  I see you too. :D  I'm glad you got your puter back up and running, but sorry you can't hook up your camera.  Always something with these computers, huh?

IAN, your devotional was wonderful.   All of the posts have been so thoughtful and thought provoking.....and Pat, I loved your songs.  Victory In Jesus.......oh, I wonder how many times that song has rang out, blasting right through the enemy's camp....coming from the mouth of a humble saint trusting in Jesus' victory?

Ria....you said something that jumped out at me. "When we see God, then we KNOW". The Bible says we shall know
as we are known....that thrills me. :)  But until then, we just trust our Father. ;D

Meika....I thought your joke was funny too. ;D

Janet, I so agree about programs on tv.  I don't have cable, so get some channels through the air.  I saw some of the promos for that Las Vegas show and was disgusted.  There just aren't many programs that I feel ok with watching.

Ruth Ann, thanks for keeping us up on Papa John.  You are such a caring sweetheart.

Etta Sue.  You must really be good at PSP......testing tuts and all.   I'm learning.......and should be further in lessons by now, but get sidetracked easily. :)   I do enjoy it, and digital photography, so will get more into it as the winter rain comes. (We're still in extended summer)

Jane, I liked our time at the beach.  I still don't know how we got on the subject of pushy salesmen and telemarketers. HAHA.
That just isn't something that usually comes up at a beautiful beach setting.  It was a fun day......all of it.

Hi and goodnight to everyone I didn't mention.  I wanted to come and post again before I was ready for bed.  I didn't sleep well last night, so my eyelids have been trying to close since 6 pm.  I really enjoyed your posts, and hearing about your day.

Oh, I heard from my daughter, on the road to her new home at the moment.  They left yesterday morning, had to have the U-Haul fixed in Medford, Oregon last night....so called me from there......then just called me from California..I forgot what town.  Isn't that caring?  I really appreciate her letting me know they're ok and when they stop for the night.
Heh....I'm hearing more from her on the road than when she lived close. haha

I'm adding my prayers for Papa John and Cornelia to yours.
Good night dear family in Christ.  love, nita

Pat

It's lovely to see who dropped in while I was out of town!

Let's continue to pray for Papa John and anyone else who is experiencing some needs at this time.  Many have numerous unspoken requests but it's wonderful that the Lord knows what they are!
