JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Jane:  How nice for your good news!  Praise greetings to you!

Judy:  Your work in here is much appreciated. I love the story of little bummer lambs.

Chris:  Thank you for all your work as well.

Jackie:  Prayers for healing with your new medicine.

I am knitting a scarf or two to donate to the church bazaar this fall.  Sure do hope church is open by then - who can predict what is ahead.  So far, all our children and grands are working.  It is quiet at the house - no one has visited for over two weeks now - our closest son will come and stand at the end of the driveway but that is it.  We cannot go to church as it is closed.  We only go out every 10 days or so to pick up groceries ordered online.  We open the trunk and a worker puts the groceries in the car and even signs off on the order - that way we are not touching anything and they are not touching as well.  Today, there were no substitutions. Uf they ask, I just say I am happy with anything - so glad to have this service and at no extra cost.  I think my prescription order in a few weeks can be handled the same way.

It is a beautiful day here with perfect temperature.  Tomorrow, Easter Sunday,  a strong winter storm is expected with snow and wind.  Springtime in the Rockies.

He is Risen, Indeed!!

CHRIST AROSE
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Robert Lowry, 1826-1899
Musician:  Robert Lowry, 1826-1899

Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus, my Savior!
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus, my Lord!

Chorus:
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor
From the dark domain,
And He lives forever
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesu, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

Death cannot keep his prey,
Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

The hymn, "Christ Arose" is a hymn of sheer drama. Robert Lowry, the author, has said,
My brain is sort of a spinning machine, for there is music running through it all the time.
As he read the verses above, Luke 24:6-7, he sat at his little pump organ and wrote out the words and tune to this hymn in 1862. Lowry was a Bible scholar and engaging orator who became the music editor for the Biglow Publishing Company. This hymn of his depicts a shining contrast between the moods of death and resurrection.

This is an all time favourite of mine.

Today has been difficult for me.  I have wanted to post a picture of Pat, Murray and I.  I have lost the instructions Pat gave me many years ago, and both Pat and Jeanne have gone on to glory.  If anyone remembers how to post pictures would you send me a private message with instructions?

Janet

Judy, thanks so much for posting Don Francisco singing "He's Alive!  It's one of my very favorites, too.  Many years ago now, I got to see and hear him in person singing that song, and that was the first time I had ever heard it.

Hi Carol!  We had a lovely day here, as well.  I took the dogs for a walk, felt good to be out in fresh air and sunshine.  I also got back in my studio and did a bit of painting.  Hadn't been able to do that since John was found.  :'(

Jackie, hope your cellulitis goes away quickly.  That's no fun, for sure.  I have had it from falling and skinning my leg, then got the infection.  Happy Easter tomorrow. I hope you will be able to see a service online or on facebook.  That's what we will be doing.

Judy, I hope you get the instructions, as I would love to see the photo.  I posted a couple on FB yesterday for Siblings Day, too.

Jane, you are welcome here any time!  C'mon back!

I think I will go bake a fresh peach pie for tomorrow!  Well, get the peaches out of the freezer, anyway!

Marilyn, how are you, Keith and Freckles?  My "new" little dog loves stuffed toys.  She has several of her own but likes to "steal" mine!  Today she stole a dog, then a turtle, then a little Sloth!

May each of you be truly blessed this Resurrection Day!  Love you!

"The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says... Behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world." John ch. 1 v 29
The sins of the world!
All sin for all time, everyone born into this world has the opportunity to have their sins forgiven...It's not just those who are called and chosen, and also the Whosoever!
Whosoever will may come and take the Water of Life freely, without cost, for the price has been paid.. A terrible price... a dreadful cost.. Paid by the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
This day we remember the women approaching the tomb and asking "who will roll the stone away "
That wasn't a problem, an Angel had already removed the stone ( Matthew ch. 28.)
And His words to the woman were.. "don't be afraid.. I know you are looking for Jesus Who was crucified,
He is not here.. He is risen.. See the place where He lay."
On this Easter Sunday morning, are you looking for Jesus, He Who suffered and died in your place.. for you. You are the Whosoever, and you can come today, convicted of your sins, and you will be accepted, you do not accept Christ, He accepts you my friend.
Today if you hear His voice, you can know a new Life in Jesus, a New Resurrection Life.
I will never get tired of telling you this, but one day it will be too late.

Wonderful Marilyn!!!!

We have cold weather yesterday and today. Our trucker son is here sleeping in his RV trailer. I suspect her is warmer than we are!

I shared with some of my phone contacts how Jesus gave thanks and broke the bread, it was at that point the disciples recognized the risen Lord. Oh how I would have loved to have been there!

On Saturday night we watched an amazing documentary "Before The Wrath" on Daystar.  Often on Saturday night they put a movie on to have family movie night.  This was about the Galilean wedding and its significance to the coming of Jesus. Jesus said that no one knows only his Father when he will return.  The disciples would have recognized that as only the grooms father would know when he would wake up his son to go and get his bride. "I will come like a thief in the night." The grooms father would wake the groom up and send him for his bride in the night, they would go with trumpets blowing.  It was a wonderful documentary.

Well onward with my day. God bless you all!

Greetings Marilyn  Lots of posts for you to catch up on.  On the Island today it is cooler and the same in the UK.  Splendid sunny day, but as sunny as it is, we have to stay indoors as much as we can to comply with self isolating.  Ellie

Carol

We had a quiet Easter staying home and listening to a service on the radio.  It has been snowing and the road does look fine but we have no need to get out of the house.  We are being asked to  stay home - a good idea.  There are many homeless in tents - it breaks my heart to see even children not in a safe place.  I just saw a message that Smithfield company (known for bacon, ham, etc) is donating about 3 million dollars worth of food (protein) to food banks especially in rural areas.

WE are both fine, no virus or sickness here. My cousin James has gotten much better. I am so thankful for that, I sure don't want to lose another family member. This cousin and his sister, were childhood playmates of mine. Their father and my step father were brothers, so even though not blood they are family to me.

Yesterday was like any other day here except there was a video from the pastor with a message. He took us all over the bible in the message. We had leftovers for supper, Keith had pizza and I had a frozen organic dinner.

Yesterday was an emotional day for me, another wave of grief swept over me. I did get a small plastic bag of Ron s sashes from my granddaughter, but right now I just can't deal  with putting them in the pendant. They are in the little box with the pendant until I can make myself  take care of them.

Jane Great news about Bryan I know how  concerned you have been about him since  Joy graduated to heaven.

Hello to Ellie, You too are a carer for you hubby. Sometimes I think that I am tired of this job, and would like to retire even though I know that is n ot going to happen. I have been a carer for almost 30 years for one person or an other. I  now take care of hubby and I have a Hospice Patient that I visit. Or will visit when the lockdown is over.

Janet Freckles doesn't play with toys, I don't think she ever learned to play. She was 5 when I got her and I tried to play ball with her and gave her various toys She put them all in her crate where she sleeps and eats during the day, then she threw them all out the next day. Silly Dog. She is 12 now and my constant companion she is my Service Dog so she goes every where with me ie restaurants, Doctor etc. She is also a Therapy dog who goes to visit patients in the hospital, Cancer Center. Nursing homes, school. Of course we haven't done any of that during this lockdown.

Carol a friend  gave me yarn and a knit pattern for a hat, I don't knit very well but maybe if I follow the instructions It might turn out fine. A long Long time ago I knitted a sweater and when I cast off the neck it was  almost too tight to go over my head. I  also have some chenille  yarn that I don't know what I am going to make, a hat or a scarf. I Crocheted a red Cloche hat and there is enough yarn left I am going to make a scarf to match. (If I can fine my (rountuit)

Judy you can send me the photo and I will post it for you. It may have to be resized the attachments have to a certain size.

Marilyn, glad you found your way back home!  You are missed when you don't post.  Glad your cousin is doing better.  I just called the funeral home re John's ashes, to find out whether or not they will provide a container to bury him in--they do, so that's a big relief.  He had so little money, and we really shouldn't be responsible for all this work, much less the expense.  Poor John; if only he would have taken care of himself.  But that was his choice.  Sigh....

We had a good Easter; watched/participated in our church's online service, including communion.  For lunch (dinner here) I made a big pot of hamburger stew and a fresh peach pie.  It was good!  ;)

Many people and companies are stepping up with the big bucks to help out in this crisis, which is a wonderful thing.  There are still many good people in the world, in spite of the news out of the left swamp.  :uglystupid:

Boy, am I ever missing my family!  Wouldn't be surprised to get notice that I've gone over my allowed cellphone minutes for the month.  Got terrible news yesterday that a close friend has been diagnosed just last week with stage four liver cancer.   :'(   So many things and people needing prayer!

Carol, isn't it awfully cold there?  Thinking of people living in tents is heartbreaking, especially the children, as you said.  I suppose there are as many reasons for people being homeless as there are homeless people.

Jackie, Jane and anyone else out there, come and talk to us.  Being under "House Arrest" is getting boring! Actually, I'm never bored at home, as I have my reading, painting, husband, and work (****)  ;)  to keep me occupied!

I wish you all a pleasant and God-filled day!

Greetings Janet  House Arrest, splendid term that is.  Likewise I don't get bored as lots to do.  And the guidelines are we stay at home as much as we can and when out side social distancing.  Ellie

Janet

Marilyn!  Good for you!  Almost like a nice chat over the back fence.  (Actually I haven't ever done that.)  Or a phone call.....anyway, good to have a long post from you.

It's really good for us to get out in the fresh air and sunshine when we can.  Too cold here today for that, though, so I painted a pink rose instead. ;-)

"Follow peace with all men, and Holiness without which no man shall see the Lord."
Heb. 12.
Peace with everybody, ah, but sometimes amongst neighbours or in the workplace or in extended family they don't seek peace with you.
Well that's ok, just keep your mouth firmly shut, be polite, well mannered,
Rise above it as much as you can, you march to the sound of a different drum.
Holiness is the believers life. Live the life you are called to live, you cannot get on with everyone, even in a fellowship there will be people who get on your nerves, as you will get on theirs perhaps, get on with what the Lord has called you to do, and most certainly try to love your neighbour and your brother as yourself, unbelievers are your neighbours.. Christians are your brothers.
But love is wonderful, the great Love of Christ in your heart will remove any bitterness that could spring up in your relationship with someone with whom you just don't get on. Love conquers all, it conquered us, when we were God's enemies, it will conquer everything if you go to Christ and ask Him to deal with a situation and to fill you with an abundance of His Love.
The Beetles sang " All you need is love, ta ra ra ra ra!"
Their love was a worldly love, yours is Godly,
A better song,... "Here is love vast as the ocean.
Loving-kindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life my ransom.
Shed for me His precious blood."
It goes on to say " Heaven's Peace and perfect justice, kissed a guilty world in love."
Never get bitter.. Get better... Let Christ fill you with that perfect love.
