JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

From Chris Saunders
" And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me into His Heavenly Kingdom, to Whom be Glory forever and ever, Amen. 2Tim4.
You may be delivered from an evil thing, maybe just as it begins, but sometimes the evil thing will continue a while just to test your patience and to make you stronger, so that next time you will be more able. But every evil thing that comes into your life is allowed, it must have your Lords permission to come, He knows the number of hairs on your head and will not let anything harm you too much.
We panic too easily..and worry far too much, but we are flesh and blood and feel pain and anxiety and fear,
But "He is a very present Help in trouble" And every believer shall have trouble, so you're not alone.
He is more there for you than even good friends.

Because He Lives
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by William J. Gaither
copyright 1971

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Yes, Our wonderful Lord is always in control!  And I'm glad!
How many of you are waiting for the Super Bowl to Start?  We are!
And rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs with great anticipation!!
It's been 50 years since they went to the Super Bowl, and may they win today!   ;)  :)  :D  8)

I'm missing our new little doggie today.  As we're leaving early tomorrow for a three day trip to Manhattan (the Little Apple), we took her to Moscow last night to Toni.  We were going to eat at their church's Groundhog Supper--It was great!  So that saved us a trip today.

I'm just checking in.  We will be home Wednesday evening, have no idea of the time.  We're going on a bus with others, so not in charge!  ;)

Okay, that's all.  Hope your team wins-As long as the your team's name is the Chiefs!!  :lol:

We had a wonderful two day visit with our Oregon friends. They drive all over in what looks like an over-sized van & sleep and cook in it as well.  We had a free day of a sports channel so we used it for the Super Bowl.  I wanted the Chiefs win and it all came true.  About time.

We thought we could not make it in time to our regular church so we took our friends to a nearby (5 blocks away) church (we tried it years ago and Don could not "hear or understand that minister).  Prayers answered.  They had closed captioning on a screen.  Hallelujah !!!  This is wonderful for him.  It was packed with seniors -and  the sermon was down to earth.  He dropped one hearing aid on the floor and I was looking down for some reason -  a big grateful prayer for that incident because he did not know he had dropped one hearing aid.  I know we need to attend this church now.  All of this was planned for us -  it was because I was too slow getting breakfast ready.  Giving THANKS!

Janet I want to thank you for that post a while ago about the Jesus Calling book. I love that book. I  have gifted  two other friends of mine with the book and they love it too. I bought myself the large print leather bound  edition.

Marilyn reminded me I haven't been in for a few days, sorry. I really wish I got the notifications, but seldom do any more.

Carol, great news about "accidentally" discovering the nearby church is just what you need...and about the dropped hearing aid!  Those "coincidences" arranged by our loving Father are so wonderful!

Happy belated birthday, Marilyn.  I hope you got to do something special, as that's a special birthday!  I wanted (planned) to have a party for my 75th, but we had that car wreck, so I said, "Well, maybe for my 80th!!  We shall see.  So glad you enjoy Jesus Calling. I will probably be ordering it in large print too, as am having to start using a magnifying glass to read the little book.  Thanks for mentioning it as I didn't know it was available in large print!

Jacqueline, glad you are enjoying "Jesus Calling" too.  I believe there are millions of people who love that little book; we all love to have Jesus talk to us!

I had a pretty bad fall in Manhattan last week.  The place where the bus parked to pick us up from our hotel, the curb was about 2" higher than the others!  I caught my foot as I stepped up and took a spill on the concrete on my left knee and right hand.  I kept ice packs on it all that day and night, and it seems to be fine, at least nothing broken; just badly bruised.  Later, two of the men in our group fell in that same place for that same reason!  They both bruised (or possibly cracked) some ribs.  Finally, the bus driver found a better spot to park!

I just went through all my shoes and weeded out a bunch of them to give away.  There were too many in there, and some I haven't worn in years--forgot I even had them.  Got to start on the clothes next. I have already done all the drawers, so closet is next!

Janet...
...shame on your bus driver for parking again in that same spot where you took your tumble, he should have learnt to have avoided that spot in future or have moved his bus away to a safer disembarking place...surely it doesn't take a genius to work it out, if it happened there once it would-could happen there again, and to someone else...

Janet and Jackie it is so good to see you both posting here. The membership has dwindled so much and I just wish more people would post here daily.

Today freckles and I will be visiting the Cancer center, where we will stop and talk to each person receiving  chrmo and those in  the waiting room. The staff also loves the dogs.

Thursday The service dog trainer will be doing the last test for Freckles to become a Service dog. The testis Public Access Test,  where she will evaluate freckles walking through Walmart and at a restaurant. After this test I will be able to take Freckles every where I go and into every building, airplane etc. I already take her a lot of laces that are restricted to Service dogs only.

Janet:  So sorry about your tripping on the cement.  I have signed on to a Balance class and do believe it is making me notice where I am walking and also need to slow down. Teacher mentioned looking at youtube for some exercise site.

We drove to a restaurant yesterday to meet a friend of many years.  I still miss his wonderful wife/friend - he is doing well although he is tired after shots for  cancer.  His wife died from West Nile Virus - in Scottsdale, Arizona several years ago.

Marilyn:  Belated birthday greetings.

Time to fix lunch.   Take care everyone.

Carol

What a great picture of a beautiful dog - Geordie.  Pat's favorite dog.  Thanks for posting the photo.

I had to quit trying to sync a To Do list onto the Apple phone - they (all California business) wanted too much information.  We are expected  to give over all our background and I do not believe  they need to see when and where I was born.

A close friend at home is having a new elbow installed - yes, sounds awful to us - she fell on ice last year and bones are shattered.  She has surgery tomorrow - please think of Dot if you have a chance.  I am reading her daily bible study book (by Stanley) and it has been so pleasant and comforting.

How is everyone doing this winter?  Our family in Colorado talks about a lot of shoveling snow - not as much in Montana even though that is further north.  Stay warm and safe!

This week we have seen Humming Birds by the window.  Yes, it has been cold but they are here now.

Carol

Where oh where is everyone?  All 21 "online here" - can you drop by and say hello?   We would like to meet everyone who checks in for a look.

I was sorta complaining to myself about house work this morning - and it occurs to me - I am truly grateful to be able to do this job.  A dear friend is having her elbow replacement surgery this morning and I know she would rather be doing housework.  She will need help and we are not going home for a month and half.  Knowing most of the neighbors & her wonderful family will drive in to help as well -

Back to deep cleaning and checking dates on pills and anything in the kitchen.

Janet:  Are you all healed from your tripping mishap?

Judy:  I did knit a long scarf and it looks terrible.  It has holes in it from where I lost my concentration and did "something wrong".  It was relaxing to finish and doesn't look very nice.

Good Day everyone.

I am feel so much better today. Thursday night I was so  sick I think from something  I ate because Keith had it too.  I have ruled out everything except the left over chicken that we both ate. So Our Valentine's dinner with a friend was  cancelled instead she  went to Walmart and bought some Imodium for us. I am fine today but Keith is still felling a little puny.

I wish each of you a belated Happy Valentines Day!  Mine was uneventful, except that we did go to the movie here in town last night.  It was Dr. Doolittle.  Cute show, but I have so much trouble understanding the dialog.  I have an appointment next week to see what can be done about my hearing aids.  Really the pits when both your vision and your hearing seem to be failing.

It's really good to have several posts to read tonight!  Yes, my knee is better, but still sore.  The little dog jumps up in my lap and always seems to hit the very sorest spot!  Yes, Jacqueline, the driver found a better spot--AFTER the third person fell!

Marilyn, sorry you and Keith were sick.  Food poisoning is the pits! I've had it a few times.

Carol, We go to the gym usually 3 to 4 times per week, and I am working on strength and balance.  I do quite a bit of stumbling around at home, always catch my balance, but the time may come when I don't!  So I'm working on it.

I just realized I'm feeling much stronger and more clear-headed. Lately, I have been able to work all day, with only a short break to rest.  Just a couple of months ago, I couldn't do that!

I am full of words tonight, but I need to go move some things off the bed that I removed from drawers in the bathroom.  They are going to the high school to help some kids.  More about that later!

A cousin was planning to visit this week but I asked them to arrange another week.  Don is so exhausted as he is getting too little sleep.  We sent an email to his doctor and perhaps she can help with a medication.

Marilyn:  Sorry for your bout of sickness at the same time. Hopefully, it is better right now.

Janet: Are you walking at a fast pace?  Perhaps, you can work on slower movements - just an idea I had to come to grips with.  It sure isn't easy.  Try saying "heel, toe" when you start out to walk. Nice of you to donate to the school children.  It sure is costly to send any child to school - our church has donations of that plus groceries for military families.  They never complain but do go without a lot and I am glad the church noticed them.

Marilyn

I too have had to slow down my walking pace. It help that I keep Freckles on  her leash and tell her to walk slow or to heel. She knows both commands, however I do let her off leash at least  down through the church parking lot below our house. I tell her to wait for me and she stops to wait. I am so blessed to have such an obedient dog.  ;)

Keith and I are both better. I took hm to the doctor last Monday and she told him he better  wear the hernia belt and showed hm pictures of what the hernia looks like under his skin. She said if it ruptures, he will have 21 feet of Intestines hanging out  and he will die. Oh my that is a vision I do not want to see, All I would be able to do is call an ambulance. H thinks he knows everything and that I know nothing. I have been telling him the same thing for a year but he wouldn't wear the hernia belt. It is  pretty big now and sort of hangs  over his pants. I hate this  awful disease.

It is raining today. The moisture is always needed in desert Arizona.

Prayers for needs to each of us.

We will watch one grandson play hockey tonight in Minnesota - this is streamed live over the internet and we can pick up the site on our laptop.  Amazing.   They won 6 to 1 last night { at no charge for us to enjoy}.

Our plan this springtime is to drive to Minnesota for graduation then drive all over the state to see friends and many relatives.  We shall see what is possible.

Carol

Good day all. We had visitors in the open back yard and now a job for me.  I have to buy some durable fabric to cover 4 outdoor chair pillows. The dreadful javelinas (somewhat like pigs who are filled with germs ) and migrate north from Mexico to the states) came to the back yard.  They bite and scratch even a pillow on a chair.  They are protected - so the cost is always to people who have anything outdoors.  Hobby Lobby will have something in their fabric department.

Marilyn

Those hateful Javelinas. How awful that you can't do anything about them.

Where is Janet, I see her on Facebook from time to time.

Not much new here, Keith is progressing. He has trouble  finding the right door to get into the car, this morning he asked me "Is this our bedroom? He will ask me the same questions several tines i  a row and several times in a day,.

I can barely wait until this election is over.

Marilyn:  life can be really tough at times - many do not understand the sadness of caring for someone who declines in memory.  Terribly sad.

Off to my medical appointment.

Well John had his second knee replacement surgery done on the 25th.  The incredible pain is there however this time he knew what to expect, and is doing well.  He has a cuff that surrounds the knee, and fills with ice water. that is helping the pain, and swelling.  God is good keeping my man in His hands.

I have had 2 days of running, and was really tired last night. I slept well till 5:30, then back to sleep and today I am really much better.

We have had snow, a lot of snow, last night. It is continuing today. The plows have been out on our road, however with the wind you wouldn't know it.  I am debating whether to head out for the 45 minute drive to the hospital.  I don't want to be a statistic!

Good bye for now, everyone stay safe, and walk in God's Peace!

Carol

This is a maroon color print.  Hope all goes well.

Judy:  Prayers for John and you.

A friend of many years fell and broke a pelvic bone two days ago.  Her never trained cute dog always pulls her when walking and this time our friend fell on concrete. She lives close and has two nephews nearby - plus one of her daughters flew here to take charge. How quickly our lives change.
