JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Hello Everyone!  I'm back again.. ::)  We haven't gone on that little trip yet; too many doctor's appointments.  Now planning to leave on the 20th, if nothing else interferes.

Talking about death makes me so sad, but it is helpful, too, as it allows others to come alongside and help us.  I hope we have all dried our tears now, and are walking in the sunshine of God's love again.

One of my best friends lost her husband last week.  He had had the hiccups for days and sometimes weeks at a time for several years.  She tried to get him to go to Wichita to a doctor, but he wouldn't.  When they finally did go, learned he had lung cancer that metastasized to brain and liver.
The doc at Wichita said that is a common thing for lung cancer patients, to have hiccups a lot.  I surely hadn't heard that before.

I wish you all joy and peace, and send you my love.

Peace be with everyone here.

t has been years since hearing "All Hail the Power".  Thank you - many thanks for all your care of of all of us.

Next week, a small group of six of us will be going to a breakfast place to have our gathering for a birthday girl.  This is a friend who recently lost her former pastor husband - he was ill for many years.  None of us want gifts so we bring birthday cards.  I am so fortunate that Don learned to make cards on the computer where he can put in a special greeting and personalize it.  I used to do this but he has taken over and now I wonder if I can relearn it some day.

Heads up everyone:  I have had two potential scams this week and a minute ago it was someone who said the call was from Social Security.  I listen but do not say anything - then hang up.  Still, we get several calls per week - these are criminals who want your private information.  Please don't say anything.

Time to start my next grocery list

Janet:  Tomorrow is the 20th.  Safe travel if you are able to leave tomorrow.  Where?

Marilyn:  That had to be and still is so sad.  It takes a lot of courage to write that message for us.

I had to go to the chiropractor this morning, I've been lifting too many heavy things. Keith can't lift anything because of his hernia. The Dr said the abdominal wall is so thin that if it breaks or tears he will have 29 ft of intestines  some spilling out and he will die. So I am doing all the lifting but today I am taking it easy.

I got the inspectors report on the Arcata house, I think I am going to either ask the seller to repair a few things or take some off the  price since I bid 11K over the asking price.

Good afternoon friends.

I am working on a knitting project.  A doll and doll clothes.  You would think simple right?  Well not so much so.  75 pages of patterns and assembly directions.  I have knitted for years and I am totally buffalowed with som of these instructions.  I had to send a lacey pattern to my daughter, because it doesn't seem to work for me......

Our weather has finally changed we are dealing with 82.4 temps.  Quite a shock to the system.  We hope to finally plant our garden on Saturday. That is the Canadian holiday weekend.

Today is the 21st.  Memories of a funeral 2 years ago.  Pat is and will continue to be missed. If Pat and Jack had lived they would have celebrated 60 years yesterday.... They are together now.  I am so impressed with her son Andrew and Daughter Janice.  Everytime they have pictures that I am in or may know about they send them to me.  It has been a blessing to receive them!

Well I am off to make supper..Loe you all and God bless.

Pat sang this at her wedding in 1961..... Our aunt who was a voice instructor said she was listening to an angel....

Judy:  Lovely song - I remember most of the words - thank you for sharing.  We had such a short but nice visit with Pat - they arrived around 10 at night so we did not have enough of a visit since they got on the trail early next morning. We drove Pat over to another house to visit a short time with Jenny and Bob (Senior Net).

Another storm is forecast for this afternoon.  It is so common when you live close to the mountains.  We just have to plan around the forecast.  Yesterday, we had a notice that a huge evergreen at the front/side of the house will be taken down.  Will miss all the birds that live in it but not missing the racoon that wreaked costly damage to the vent - good riddance.

Our poor church is struggling to keep afloat.  They put out a sermon and sometimes music on the internet. I suppose there are many who have lost jobs and cannot afford to send any money.

Take care all.

I have gone to sleep and woken up to this hymn for the past couple of days....I love it!

Janet

HELLO, all you lovely people!  Good to be with you again here in our little spot.

Carol, we wanted to go over near the Missouri line, where there are many pecan groves.  We didn't even know Kansas grows a lot of pecans until we read it in our little Pioneer Electric magazine last month.  We had planned to leave on May 10; then the 20th, and now hope to leave on June first or second.  Hard to get plans to work out sometimes. We wanted the girl who dove us home from Florida to drive for us, but that's not going to happen, so Darrel will be driving.  He's a good driver but gets tired so easily and is used to taking naps, which I prefer he doesn't do while driving!!  After we see what is in that area, we plan to go on over to Branson, as we will be close anyway.  We want to go to the big Sight and Sound Theater as they are putting on a play named "JESUS."  That should be good.

Both of us are having kidney and high blood pressure problems, so trying to change a few things to help with that.  Not much fun getting old, is it?

See you later--love you all!

Judy!  He-s alive!  What a voice!

Don is off to a chat with his doctor.  Normally, I go with him but there are two separate packages of medicine arriving today and I do not like to leave them sitting by the front door.

Did anyone watch for the Blood Moon the other night?  WOW - It seemed so close.

Prayers for safer driving at least in this area we see many taking chances - following and passing plus going over the speed limit.  Too many confrontations between drivers.  An ugly part of our society.

Not all the news is terrible.  We see an increase in people who want to help others.

Jackie:
May you have have a peaceful and safe move.

Janet:  I am so happy you are taking these drives - enjoy the getaway time.

Judy:  Very nice you are receiving these mementos.  Little things mean a lot, for sure.

Carol...
...thank you...I phoned and spoke to a vicar of a church ( Baptist ) that i google mapped to be near to where i am moving that i will travel to in my mobility scooter, he told me of the ongoing services that are taking place, inside church and service held in the open car park, dates, times, how regular, the next one that i will fall into, he was very helpful and informative, even going to drop leaflets through my door for when i arrive in my new home, etc, then finished our telephone conversation with a " would you like me to say a prayer with you " over the phone, you can imagine my reply as i cried " yes please, oh yes please do "

Jackie:  That sounds like a very nice welcome.

I am scheduled with a doctor appt. this afternoon.  Otherwise, all is quiet here and we are waiting to hear when the community comes to take out a huge - even overgrowing) tree touching our roof and side.  This is how the racoon was able to get into the attic.

Time to go - run run run.....
