JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Greetings Everyone  Back online again to post, as our niece was over from the UK.  And very little mobile phone or computer usage on those days.  It has made me think, do I need to use the mobile phone and computer as much!

Rebot

Greetings Jackie  I am sorry I have not posted to you before now, but not online hardly at all in the past six days.  We are glad that Richard's funeral was perfect and splendid news that the your daughter held you hand during the service.

Hi Everyone. Happy to be able to say this is has been already and hope the rest of the day will be the same.  Yesterday I had a lot of shortness of breath and was pretty weak.  I had a great nights sleep last night.  Pat and Scott just left to go to Costco for some shopping.

Yesterday was a very sad day for Scott as he had to have his beloved dog put to sleep.  He has known the day was coming for a long time.  Pat asked he wanted her to with him to the vets and said yes.  He had made the arrangements yesterday morning when he had to take his sick cat to the vet and dug the grave before he came to get his mother.  The cat  had disappeared yesterday and they couldn't find it but she finally came back to the door. He was afraid she had gone away to die and that would have been a double troubling day for him.  He is so sentimental and loves his pets as they are a lot company for him. He doesn't handle grief very well.  They came back to the house and we talked him into staying and spending the evening with us and got him busy helping his mother fix ribs in the Instant Pot and when he left he seemed to be feeling better.  I want to write some comments here this morning as feel up to it.

Carol, you are wise to stay off the roads if they are not clear.  I see the same thing about drivers in the
South.  Since I have lived many places where we dealt with snow I did learn to drive in it.

Ellie, Good to see you back online but knew from your last posting that you expected to be offline for your company.

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone.  Just checking in today.  I had a rough night with no sleep and not feeling good today.

Carol

Two phone calls from two of the "children" interrupted my thoughts here.  I had free gooey sweet french toast this morning from Kneaders (they are closed Sundays).  Then, they made a mistake and gave us two extra servings to take home.  Banner morning!

Youngest son is visiting this morning - he has to fly to Chicago to give a speech tomorrow. Our daughter & her husband return from Europe this week - they recreated their honeymoon trip from years ago when they went for the cheapest everything.  At least they had better weather than our snow.   With the heavy snow showing in the mountains, it is just beautiful.  Warm weather will surely bring floods and avalanche though so it is a cautious guess on what could happen.

Larry:  Don uses external speakers - his hearing loss is mainly distortion problems - he hears the opposite words.  It is much more difficult than just the loss of hearing.  I have had a few "talks with God" over these years.

Larry - again:  You have a special son - sorry for your restless night and that you don't feel well this day.  I hope you have a better night and tomorrow is easy for you.

This being Saturday, it was a wonderful relief to see children running a marathon and playing games at the school nearby.

I need to ask for prayer. One of my grand daughter's is in the hospital in South Carolina. She has Hepatitis C that has completely destroyed her liver and her kidney's have failed. My son updated me this morning that she is now in ICU on 24/7 dialysis to get the fluid off her body so they can check her heart. They are hoping to get her kidney's fully functioning so that she can have the possibility of a liver transplant. All this has been caused by the bad choices she has made in her life, Drugs and Alcohol.!!! Anyway I am, a mess. This past year has really sucked. First I lost a son in Sept. then Keith in October and November, Me in December now this. It is sure taking a toll on my family as well as myself.

Marilyn...
...one thing I am learning fast is...how life can be so very cruel...which makes me ask, what have I done to cause this, I must have been very bad...Well nothing really as one thing I have learnt as for me, all things good can't or wont go on forever...I am also telling myself that life also throws us the opposite, the happiness the love, both giving and receiving again, we just dont know when it will change...

...Yes why so much heartbreak, why do we lose people who are close to us, who mean the world to us? why do our loved ones have to suffer so many heartbreaking illnesses? they say, " everything happens for a reason.." well I am struggling with that one...what possible reason could they have had in taking my partner of 19 years away from me?

...Marilyn, yes I shall say a prayer for your young grand-daughter...I shall also say a late prayer for the boy (your son) you lost last Sept, of which I am saddened to hear as I didn't know that you had lost him...It is so hard to comprehend why these people are taken from us, or why they are fighting for their life.....

Hi Everyone. I don't know what happened here as had written a my beginning paragraphs that were rather long indicating I had a good nights sleep thanks to taking a benedril and Pat helping me sleep on my side by putting a pillow under my back.  I guess I had written too much explanation.  I did take my shower this morning as felt like doing it but by the time I got dressed I had spent most of energy so plan on taking it easy the rest of the day.  I was late getting to my office and just now finishing my breakfast and it will soon be home to rest and listen to last week's Church service.  I will probably watch some of the golf today if it isn't rain delayed again.

Carol, that was a happy mistake Kneaders made. I do consider our son very special.  I won't be surprised if he pops in sometime today to wish his mother Happy Mother's day.

Marilyn, so sad the condition your grand daughter is in.  They don't think there are consequences to their way of life until there is and sometimes it is too late, which is sad.  I will certainly pray for her and you and the family that goes through this ordeal.

Jackie, you are being too hard on yourself.  We cannot change the past, even God can't do that, but we can learn and change our behavior to be able to find a happy life.  At least this has been my experience.  I did what I thought was the best thing to do at the time but have learned there is no benefit in spending my time thinking about the past nor worrying about the future and just live each day the best I can.  Just take things one day at a time and sometimes I hour or minute.  We all lose people that are close to us over our lifetime, we grieve at the time and feel our feeling and in time we begin to remember the happy things and put aside the unhappy things.

...I am being so hard on myself because I am talking to Richard and telling him I did love him really, and just want him back so I can tell him this, and this is where it is tearing me up, I only hope he is hearing me and seeing how much I am crying when I say it and am talking to him...Its too late now..

Marilyn:So sorry for your much too much prayer needs.  Sometimes, it is a mountain of deep concerns.  Prayers for peace of mind.

Carol

Sunday was our first warm day in such a long time. We were invited to lunch and sat outdoors on a patio.  We called a niece in Fort Worth, Texas as it was her birthday.  I was given a large pot of Lavender flowers and I brought a bunch of Sunflowers for the lunch invitation.

It is wonderful to have a normal spring day again. We can see the heavy snow in the mountains - there is a huge concern over a fast weather warming.

Marilyn

Thank you all for the many prayers. There has been no change in my Grand daughter's condition. Her body has retained enormous amounts of fluid. I was told it is estimated to be about 30 lbs in EACH leg and 60 in her abdomen.

Hi Everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in South Carolina.  I have a doctors appointment that we have to leave for before long so am just checking in for today.  This is not going to be an easy week as also have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and another one Thursday.  Hopefully that will be it for awhile. I did get a good nights sleep last night and that always helps but had a number of things I needed to get done for my appointment.  I have read all of the postings since I posted yesterday but just going to check in this morning as really don't have time to make individual comments.

Rebot

Greetings Larry  We have a lovely spell of weather at the moment on the Isle of Man.  And forecast to be nice in the next few days.  We hope your Doctors appointment today goes well for you and the appointments tomorrow and Thursday.

Carol

Very thankful for two things today.  I "found" my missing VISA card - I just kept checking my black purse over and over.  Also, this was a health test day I was told everything is great.

Larry:  Best wishes for a good report on your appointments.

Both of us went in for what used to be inexpensive haircuts - the price had really jumped.  We see food prices are higher too.

Rebot

Greetings Carol  Food prices more expensive here as well.  Sign of the Times!

Hi Everyone.  Another beautiful sunny day but to be a bit cooler.  My activity for today is another doctor's visit later this morning.  This is one I anticipate as it is with the foot doctor to trim my toenails.  I suppose my appointment yesterday was good and but the results I am still trying to get my mind around.  She confirmed what I have known in that my congestive heart failure has gotten a lot worse  the will continue to decline in the months ahead.  She has scheduled me for a echo on my heart and back to see her in mid-June.  She also is referring me to see a Dr. who runs the Congestive Heart Failure clinic at the hospital in Augusta.  However, the thing that really caught me blindsided was she is referring me to Hospice so I will be meeting with them in a few days to gain more information and to see how that would work in my case.  She told me that doesn't mean I will be dying soon and that they provide services even 2 years out.  I asked about keeping the doctors I have now and she said I would do that.  I am extremely tired today as only got about an hours sleep last night even with taking a benedril and having my Chamomile Tea.  I just couldn't get comfortable and it was a really long night.  I guess it will take me a few days to really come to acceptance of what is ahead for me especially the Hospice.

Carol, I had left my Visa card in my shirt pocket and Pat washed it.  Fortunately I got it out of the pocket before she put the clothes into the dryer.  Glad you found yours. I agree with you and Ellie about food prices really going up and with the Tariff situation with China  prices of many things are going to go up significantly.

Marilyn

Larry I am a Hospice Volunteer and also work in the Hospice office  2 hours each week. They are wonderful people, many patients get better and go off hospice until they are needed again.

Today There is going to a "Paws for Mental Health and a Paws for Stress" at the local community college. I will be taking Freckles there as this is also a Furry Friend  event where we have been invited to participate

There has been no change with my Grand daughter, the dialysis has worked in getting the fluid from her body. Tomorrow  there will be a conference to see if she might be eligible for a liver transplant. Ron said he seriously doubts that she  will be due to the self inflicted damage she has done to herself. If she is there will be fund raisers to raise the money for the transplant.

I am feeling better emotionally as I know that god is in control and all I can do is pray.

Hi Everyone.  It is with the deepest sadness and through tears that I write this today.  I had a text from Ruth Ann Bice saying our beloved Pat Scott Halbach had suffered a most severe stroke yesterday morning and wasn't going to survive the day.  A few minutes after read the text I had a call from Paul Halbach who told me that Pat had not survived.  We have lost a dear friend to us all.  I really know nothing else other than Paul was with her when she had the stroke and immediately called for help.  This dear, lovely lady has suffered so much in the last three years but now is free from that pain and is with her Heavenly Father.

Marilyn, I know that you have worked with and Hospice and still do.  We have had limited experience with them but Stacey had signed up with Hospice and they were with us throughout the next 48 hours and were so good to us.  I did quite a bit of reading about Hospice yesterday afternoon and from what I read I am probably at the point that I well qualify and I suppose that is why my Cardiologist suggested she have them get in touch with me.

Carol

Very sad news on Pat Scott.  Bless her and all the family.

Greetings Larry  Sad news about Pat Scott.  Yes, Bless her and all her family.

Just a quick update while I am on the computer.  I just had a message from Janice that Pat is still "alive", and breathing, however she is unconscious and not expected to recover.  It seems there has been some confusion around this.  I will keep you updated as I get the information.  Janice is keeping me up to date.

Judy, I am apparently the source of the misinformation and appreciate your leaving this posting here.  I will pass your message on to Norm' Bait and Tackle and the Soda Shoppe where I had posted this morning.  I apparently mis interpreted the information I had last night.  Please keep us updated and I will kept the other two discussions updated.  So sorry for my error.

...does this mean there is still hope? if so we shall pray harder...

Hi Everyone.  Nice clear day here and to get up to 90 degrees this afternoon.  Just checking in this morning as have a doctor's appointment this about an hour.  For the first time in my adult life I had to ask my wife to help me get dressed this morning after working on it for well over an hour.  I seem to be getting weaker by the day.

Carol

Sending prayers for faith and strength for everyone.

Marilyn

Update on Kim. She is not eligible for a transplant. She will stay on Dialysis for a while yet, then they will try to treat her with diet and exercise plus medication. She needs to do a complete life changing make over if she wants to get well. Ronnie, my son, is staying there with her until she can go home. Such a sad situation for her and for my son as well. It is going to take a lot of prayers  for her to start to take care of herself as required.
