Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Praying Kathleen!

We are just home from dinner at a different place....we have never eaten there before.  Food was wonderful, and we are stuffed!

It seems daily God is answering prayer,  It is so good to be able to sit back and watch Him work.  So often we get our hands (or tongues) going to try to help and mess things up royally.  Our Lord will deal with His children in His timing, not in ours.  Sometimes we act like spoiled children and stomp our feet saying I want an answer NOW!!!  Like a good Parent He waits till the tantrum is over an we have calmed down before speaking to us...... Peace be still.

Kathleen, my son recently went through a similar experience with company downsizing.  I was concerned that he would have trouble finding something since he was 58 years old.  But the Lord took a hand and he found a new job in less than two months - and one he is happy with.  I'll be praying that your husband will be as blessed.

Hi everyone on a beautiful morning.  This is not a coffee morning so I slept in a bit later.  Pat and I will go to Lowe's a little later as have to pick out a hand held shower head for our new house.  It was one of the provisions in our new home contract.  Pat has to make a return at Walmart, which is right across the street and I have my Thursday men's luncheon at 11:30.  Today we are eating at Steak and Shake and it is right across the street from both Lowe's and Walmart but don't know when Pat wants to go so probably will have to return for the luncheon.  Later this afternoon a friend will be stopping by for a little while.  We had the last moving company give us an estimate yesterday and we will go with them as they are considerably cheaper and have an excellent reputation.  They will also disconnect and reconnect the washer, dryer and icemaker as well as disassemble and reassemble Pat's grandfather clock.  I will call them today and arrange for the packing materials so we can begin the process of packing things up that we won't need to use in the next four weeks.

Pat, a very nice story of the way God can express his love though we human beings.

Janet, sounds like you still managed to have a pretty busy day even though your calendar did not dictate what you needed to do.  I believe that God understands when we get angry with him as he gave us the ability to have emotions.  It is better to let them out than to let them fester inside of us.

Kathleen, so sorry to hear of your husband's job situation, which seems to have become all too common during these last few years.  That was a very nice picture and glad you can see it better now.

Carol, this is certainly a bad time to go to any large store.    We will be using our Nigerian grandson, and his brother if needed, to do the packing we need help with.  We can let the moving company pack as much or as little as we want them to do but hope we can do the majority of the cartons.  I will call today to get things going with the moving company.

Jeanne, your son was fortunate to find a job he is happy with in such a short time.  My son has a job that he hates but will hold on to it until he can find something else to do.  He has many skills that are not being utilized.

It is a bright beautiful day here with puffy marshmallows on the lilac bush outside my window.  Need to get out there and take a picture!

The company John is working for has been sold to another local bus company.  He is secure in having a bus run, however it may be that he will be doing more than just driving.  Today is the meeting with the new owner, and we will have a better idea then what will transpire.  I said to John yesterday that this leaves us up in the air financially... he agreed.  However when he retired we made the decision to trust God with our finances.  3 major events coming up in the new year.  The $$ are making their way into the account and we will continue to trust God for the balance.

Kathleen I do so relate to your situation.  I continue to pray for you.

Hi, friends,

I had lunch with a former co-worker and his wife today. They are such wonderful friends. I thank God for good friends.

Then, I attended to several "honey-do's" that I had set for myself. :)

Now, I'm a bit tired and ready to relax for the remainder of the day.

Y'all have a good day, and know that I've read and prayed over the requests.

Hi everyone.  It is still dark here this morning and suppose to be overcast and cloudy all day long but no rain forecast.  Other than coffee this morning at McDonald's I plan on staying home today and continue with the tasks involved in getting ready to move.

We chose the moving company yesterday and they delivered the cartons and clean newsprint we need to begin actually packing.  The housekeepers will be here Monday so we won't do much packing until after they are here.  We won't have them come again until after we move out as things will be torn up more each day as we pack.

I had my last Thursday luncheon with the men yesterday as they are not meeting the next two weeks and then the following two Thursdays we are scheduled to be in North Augusta in matters related to the new home.

Judy,  while a change in ownership of a company certainly brings uncertainty, I can not imagine a company not wanting to keep John on board to utilize his knowledge and abilities.  God does provide.

Ruth Ann, it is always fun to have lunch with a former co-worker.

Janet and Pat, glad you both said Hello.

Pat

Hi Larry!  You sure sound busy!

I'm sad that I won't be seeing that lovely home you are presently in again.  :(  Loved it.  That's one special room over the garage.

Hi all, Nice to see you pictures and read a few of the notes today.  Yesterday, I finally got a quilt back that had been sent out for machine quilting the top.  It is a surprise for a Gra dson who is flying in today.  Now I am sewing the binding around it and taking a break at the moment.  The sun is down and sewing in daylight is preferred.

Looking forward to a white Christmas with almost all of the family.

Judy! May John receive the best job for his semi retirement.  Stay warm.

Hi everyone.  We are suppose to have a few early morning showers and then clouds the rest of the day.  It is suppose to get up into the low 50's this afternoon late.  I got quite a bit accomplished yesterday without wearing myself down.  Today, after coffee, I will again pick up our Nigerian grandson and he will help me with some further tasks that need to be done.

Pat, it is a busy time but just have to pace things.  By doing somethings everyday it will not be such a choir as we get closer to moving time.  Pat has decided to have the housekeepers come at their regular time on January 5th to help pack the china and crystal and other items in the dining room.  She said yesterday she doesn't know where to begin and is feeling overwhelmed.  We did put together the first box yesterday.  Of course, there is nothing in it yet.  :)

Carol, when Pat had her two quilts quilted for her recently she also paid to have the binding put on them.  When she got the quilts they were ready to use and we are using them.  I bet your grandson will appreciate having the quilt.  Pat has made quilts for most of our family members.

JudyB

Quilting was one thing I never got into.  I envy those of you who do this!

Larry go slowly, like the turtle and the hare, you don't need to have weakness to set in.   I am sure you will be happy to be closer to family in the coming days!

We have a bright sunny day here today and later John and I are going out along the country rtoads to take some pictures.  The sun shining on snow covered trees if Christmas Car perfect.  Once the wind sets up it will be gone.

Pray everyone has a good day and may God's blessings be yours.

Janet

What a day we had yesterday!  We got up and left early for Garden City, as we had quite a list of things to do, groceries to buy, gifts to find, plus going to the Post Office to get Darrel's replacement passport application sent; and at 2:00 we were to pick up John at the airport.  Things went really well, except that John was delayed for four hours in Dallas and got in at 6:00, rather than at 2:00.  But all's well that ends well, he is here safe and sound and he and Beth are once again enjoying just being together.  :)

After leaving the Post Office in Garden, I looked over at Darrel and his hands were trembling!  I asked if he was okay and he said he was just nervous!  I had no idea that would be such an ordeal for him!  He expressed his appreciation for my being there, filling out all the papers, asking questions and getting answers.  He said, "All I had to do was sign my name."  I asked what he'd have done without me, if that made him so nervous, and he said he doesn't ever want to find out.  :) 8)

He told our doctor on Friday when he saw him about my dizzy spells and fainting episodes, and they gave me an appointment for Monday to go in and get a heart monitor put on to wear for 24 hours.  I am wondering if this is because of the mitral valve prolapse our heart doctor warned me about several years ago.  He said if it started happening to come in and he would install a pace maker, then I would outlive most folks.  Prayers appreciated.

Larry, I hope you will be able to keep in touch with your Nigerian grandson following your move.  He sounds like a real blessing to you and Pat, and for sure, you are a blessing to him.

Time to go switch laundry from washer to dryer!

I took a break from gift wrapping to check on you dear ones.  Now I will get back to it.

Hello everyone, I have been pretty sick for a few days with a very bad cold and fever. Today I am  better and even went out grocery shopping with Keith this morning. we are going to Gilbert's for Christmas,  and taking them  several groceries  as a care package and a nice ham for  Christmas dinner. they will be getting a Turkey from the food bank.  Things have not been going well for them so I am also giving them some cash to use however the want. It is the $$ I was going to use to buy their presents with but Gilbert told me not to bring any gifts because they couldn't give any. So he will get the cash. I have to see the chiropractor again first thing Monday morning,  My top rib on the left slipped out of place this morning and it sure is painful..

Hi everyone on another cloudy morning.

It was a very busy day yesterday and by lunch time I had to call it a day.  However, we made good progress on another room (finished bonus room over the garage).  Our Nigerian grandson did the majority of the work including a number of trips up and down the stairs and the lifting but I got tired and he didn't seem to.  (Something wrong with this picture.  :)

Today we will go to church and probably out to eat with the group and then enjoy a quiet afternoon.  Any work will be limited pretty much to something I can do like more sorting.  Two big plastic bins of family pictures were brought down to my office and I want to sort through them and eliminate those my son wouldn't know and will send some on my mother's side of the family to a second cousin in California.

Judy, hope you got some good pictures yesterday.

Janet, four extra hours of waiting in an airport is a very unpleasant way to spend the time.  However, glad John arrived safely and is with Beth.  Janet, if you need a pacemaker don't fret about it as it is really a piece of cake to have implanted.  Since mine was adjusted the other day I honestly have felt more like my old self than I had for quite awhile.  Guess my heart was beating too slowly.  We plan on keeping in touch with Christian after we move.  I looked at the bus schedules just last night but doubt that will work out very well.  This young man has indeed been a blessing to our lives.

Marilyn, so sorry to read you have been ailing but glad you are feeling better.  Glad you will be able to be with Gilbert and family for Christmas and I bet your gifts will be most appreciated.
