How To Overcome Satan
Ephesians 6:10-17 says...
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Morning Devotional...For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. Ephesians 3:14-15
Sometimes we say, "What a small world!" But the world is no smaller than it's ever been.
What we really mean is, "What a big family."
Think of it, most of the family of God is already in heaven. The older we get the more people we know there than we do here.
This is the family of God--one big, joyful fellowship in heaven and on earth!
Are you getting to know your family members?

Romans 8:17
Words & Music: Charles H. Gabriel, in Make His Praise Glorious, by Edwin Excell (Chicago, Illinois: 1900)
When all my labors and trials are o'er,
And I am safe on that beautiful shore,
Just to be near the dear Lord I adore,
Will through the ages be glory for me.
Refrain
O that will be glory for me,
Glory for me, glory for me,
When by His grace I shall look on His face,
That will be glory, be glory for me.
When, by the gift of His infinite grace,
I am accorded in heaven a place,
Just to be there and to look on His face,
Will through the ages be glory for me.
Refrain
Friends will be there I have loved long ago;
Joy like a river around me will flow;
Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Hi everyone. It looks like I get to be the first to post for this new week. I will be very brief today. Our weather starting tonight doesn't sound very good in terms of more snow and possibly ice. It doesn't take much down here to create havoc. Our son was planning on coming over on Wednesday but that is certainly in doubt at the moment. Today I will go with two friends back to the apartment and get everything ready for the charity to come and pick it up. I don't think it should take more than a couple of hours to finish up.
Pat, thank you for preparing our devotional thought for the week.
Wonderful devotional, Pat. Thanks!
Cold. That's about all there is to say about today's weather. Maybe a little "warmer" come Wednesday and Thursday, but also maybe a lot more snow. Still haven't found that flipper thing for my bread machine so I'm eating only store-bought bread. :(
Pat, I have thought about that so often--about there being so many in heaven now whom I know. With the arrival of each one we loved here on earth, heaven becomes even sweeter! I'm looking forward to going there to reunite with all of them----right after I see Jesus, of course! (Or in whatever order He wants it.) I know it will be perfect!
It is cold here, too, with more snow predicted. We got a tiny bit last night, not enough to measure.
And it's Monday again, which means back to the gym and our usual routine. I praise God for health and strength to do whatever He directs me to do.
That is a lovely song -
Our good friend Pat left this morning with her little dog. After years of caregiving and losing her husband just about three months ago, she has turned her total attention to the dog and we do understand why that has happened. She is doing so well now - much better than we expected so that is good to see. We will go for a little visit probably next month.
I see more hazardous weather on the weather map. Here in AZ, the need is for rainfall as there is drought and it would surely clean the air.
Hi Everyone...
Had a lovely visit with my niece today and we had a :cup: cuppa together.
Later in the afternoon, I was soooo tired. I thought I'd lie down for an hour. The next thing I knew was waking up and the house in complete darkness but I was fully dressed with only a light blanket on top of me and I wondered why! :)
I have been taking a muscle relaxant for a severe area of pain and I guess it made me sleepy today.
Hi everyone on a stormy day here in Georgia. We had rain all night and just now some sleet is mixing in with it. They are predicting we may have up to 1/2 of ice tomorrow along with snow. The schools are out today and tomorrow. Fortunately, the temperatures will stay right around the freezing mark. Are concern is losing power but we have a kerosene heater so can get some worth.
Two friends went with me yesterday and we finished cleaning out Stacey's apartment. Now just have to get it scheduled for a charity to pick up what we haven't donated. Her friend at the apartments wanted a lot of the furniture and kitchen items. The management at the apartments knew of a elderly lady whose power chair was beyond repair but didn't quality yet for another one and we are giving her the power chair. We brought a lot of small things out here to sort when we have time and most of it will eventually go to charity. I will work on notifications to service providers to stop charges today and tomorrow.
Be back tomorrow if we have power.
We have cold. Oh, boy, do we have cold. And nobody seems to know whether the next storm will hit north of Albany or stay more to the south. And my car is still wearing the snow that fell last Thursday. :(
Pat, I know the "lost" feeling waking up from a nap in the dark. A month or so ago I dozed off in late afternoon and when I woke up the clock said 4:30. No lights, pitch dark... it took me a few minutes to figure out whether it was a.m. or p.m.! ;D
We got a beautiful snow last evening! Not a lot, maybe three inches, but it fell so beautifully, big, fluffy flakes with no wind. I love it!
I spent a full thirty minutes jumping on the rebounder today, so that was another good workout. I am progressing with my weight loss and am almost down to the weight I was in 2007! That makes me happy! :) Enjoyed a call from my sister Shirley this morning! :)
I would like to request prayer. There is a guy in Dodge who publishes quite a big paper every two week, or maybe it's once a month.....anyway it's called Southwest Kansas Faith and Family, and he puts all kinds of encouraging Christian stories in it. He wants to feature Beth and me and the book in an upcoming issue, but can't get over here to interview us because of the weather. So he has asked me to write quite a lot about the book and us, and to get a good photo of us, and email it all to him. I'm okay with the writing (Have already begun) but would appreciate your prayers of agreement that all will be done in a way that glorifies God. I do have a good camera, so should be able to get a good photo. I probably have one of us together.........somewhere! ??? That, plus Larry's review on Amazon should give the book a boost! )Thank you, Lord!)
Are you watching the Olympics? I have just seen bits and pieced so far, been busy.
Thanks for posting this, Janet. I will pray about this.
Thank you, Pat. (Big hug!)
Hi, I'm slipping in the door this evening. Was out and about - got the oil changed, took someone to the doctor, mailed Valentines cards for the kids, etc. So, I've spent some quiet time here in the apartment since midafternoon.
Y'all have a good rest of the day.
Ruth Ann
Sounds like a lovely afternoon, Ruth Ann...
I've been sorting some of my yarn--a much needed chore.
Thanks for the reminder, Ruth Ann! I made some Valentines and need to get them in the mail to my little ones!
Pat: Muscle relaxers can really make a person drowsy. You needed the rest.
Janet: It sounds like a winner to have your book mentioned in the media. Someone mentioned something like the Rebounder being used for a Parkinson patient - does that sound possible.
Well, we went to a pool party here (this pool is not now heated) and brought our own food & hot tea for me. It was for the group of Canadians who have bought a huge number of these units - tomorrow night they will discuss the management & what it can afford. We have been irritated that they fired the manager here - who is so reliable and such a worker. Why? Now there is no one on the grounds so they save money but I think that is a mistake. Met a couple of the Canadians and we talked hockey. :) She loved it! Met a new renter who is from a few miles from where my mother & family are from - a little town in Minnesota. Small world.
Now I am calling a cousin who has Atrial Fib concerns.
Call me a grouch but I never cared for Halloween or Valentine's Day.
Janet, it seems the Lord is opening another door for the book and your testimony.
Hi everyone. I wanted to post before we lose power, which we are certainly expecting. We have had sleet and rain all night and it is now in the high 20's and not to get above freezing all day. We are to get more ice later today. Already the trees are getting very icy. We had power all night and I have brought in our oil lamp and we have several smaller light sources. I have the new kerosine heater on the closed in porch but didn't bring in the filler tube and now it is too dangerous to try to get back to my shed. We can probably find another way to fill the heater. So we will be fine.
Janet, wonderful news about the Newspaper article in the works.
Larry, the morning news is full of reports about your area. Please be careful. And if you get the kerosene heater going, don't forget about ventilation.
Larry don't go for the fuel for the heater. Do you have any clay flower pots that you can get to? Smaller is better. Use a couple of tea light candles and turn the pot upside down over then with something holding it up off the table. The candles will heat the flower pot and keep a room warm. I'm sure you will have food that you can eat cold if power does go off.
Praying for you Larry.
Good afternoon: I think all of us are talking about the cold, I sure wish it would warm up but them at this time of year perhaps it will allow for more snow to fall so which is best? I will say that we are having a lot of beautiful sun I sure wish that I could go out walking but that is not possible at the present as I am having too much knee pain, better days are coming.
Pat: Are you finding any surprises in the sorting of your yarn?
Carol: Even muscle relaxers are not working that well nor are a lot of the other pain killers.
Marilyn: what corner are you hidding in?
Larry: My thoughts are will you and your family .
I know this may sound strange, but I am really enjoying re-reading my book! I hadn't looked at it for some time, need to refresh my mind so I can write the stuff needed for the paper. And I am praying for a surge in book sales after the article is produced. Grandson Mark is home for a while, and he will come Friday, bringing his lights and other photographic equipment to take a good photo of Beth and me. Then he will help me get it onto my computer and emailed to the guy. Love those grandsons! <3
Carol, no, I hadn't heard of using a rebounder to help with Parkinson's, but who knows? It just might help!
Larry, if you do lose power, I hope it won't last long and that you will stay safe and warm until it is back on again. Judy's hint for warmth is one I hadn't heard; sound good! You are still in my prayers.
I'm going to a "Junk Gypsy Tea Party" this afternoon. I had never even heard of Junk Gypsies, had to look on Pinterest to see what they wear. No help, as I had none of that stuff. So I'm wearing Beth's Cave Girl costume John got her (it's too small for her but fits me). I will look like Betty Rubble from the Flintstones, I think. Maybe Mark will help me post a photo so you can see me. It's a birthday party for one of the gals in our scrapbooking group.
Carol, I do NOT do halloween, but I do like Valentine's day. And I got the cards in the mail for my little great-granddaughters, also one for Abby.
Time to go get rigged out for the party! Have to make something to eat, which is going to be cut-up fruit, so I can eat something without guilt!
Janet, we'll want to see the picture Mark takes of you and Beth! You can email it to me when it's ready, if you want, and I'll be glad to post it.
Judy, I never heard of that way of getting some heat but it sounds like a good idea. Only problem - I don't have any clay pots any more. :(
Jeanne it may be an idea to get one for that purpose....Never know when you will need it
We loose power regularly so I find all the ideas that I can. LOL
Hi, friends,
Since weather was threatening, I rescheduled my appointments and stayed inside. A fall, if my bad ankle didn't have strength to keep me upright on slippery pavement, would not be a good idea. So, appointments can wait until the weather's better. :)
Tonight I wanted something different for dinner. How 'bout a bag of low fat microwave popcorn? That's all that appealed to me.
Y'all have a good rest of the day.
Ruth Ann
Seems like the less I have to do the more busy I am. ???
Snow and ice here in NC, spring where are you?
Hi everyone. We are among the fortunate in that we never lost power yesterday. The citizens heeded the warning and requests and stayed off the roads and are asked to do so again today. The last of the snow in the area is to move out later this morning and it is to get above freezing for awhile today. Over 300,000 people are without power in the State. Our son was without power for 4 hours yesterday and I don't know about today as the Augusta area was hit harder with ice than we were.
I realized this morning that I had failed to get my car inspected by my birthday and won't be able to do it today. Or course the Tag offices are closed anyway. Yesterday Pat and I continued to work on going through Stacey's things and making notifications. We will just continue to work on the things that need to be done again today while we are housebound.
Jeanne, fortunately we didn't need to use the kerosene heater.
Judy, I never heard of the tea pot idea. I have copied out your instructions and emailed them to myself and Pat so I could find them again in my email.
Ruth, sorry to read that you are still having a lot of knee pain. I am ready to see some sun down this way although we really aren't very cold, just below freezing.
Janet, going to a costume party would be at the bottom of my list of favorite things to do. Hope you have a good time.
Ruth Ann, glad you are staying in.
Don, I agree with you on being more busy. I just don't push myself as hard anymore so have less time I am willing to put towards work. Hope you aren't iced in like we are. It sounds like it is bad in NC.
Larry I was praying you wouldn't loose power.
I have been searching for a product called "roving" for making mittens. On the way home Tuesday I was thinking about getting a tea from Timies, and passed a craft shop. I swung in and asked the owner, "Do you by chance carry roving?" HE took me to shelving with many colours and the price although a little high was manageable. If I had driven to Sturgeon I would have used gas as well as the cost of the product therefore more expensive. (Sturgeon is an hour away.) Half my knitting project is done!!!
John has gone west this trip and will make good miles, the last week of this month he is off.
In Canada Monday is Family Day, The liberal government decided in their wisdom that we needed a special holiday in Ontario in February. Everything will be closed. The kids enjoy the time off.
I'm off to do the fire, and finish the last half of my project.
We have another beautiful day.
Judy: What is roving?
I new about using candles for light as well as they would generate enough heat to keep the chill out but a clay pot would work as well, good idea
Larry: It was good that you did not loose hydro.
Janet: How was the party? and I know that you will have a good picture of you and Beth.
Who is following the 2014 Olympics we are.
On the radio I heard we had a small earth quake the center of it was in the middle of Lake Ontario.
I have an appointment this afternoon and before that I have a small to do list better go and get it done.
:coffee:
Guess what! It's snowing! How unusual! As of yesterday we were about 14 inches above normal and this is predicted to be anywhere from 8 to 16 inches before it's over. There are already reports of accidents on the Adirondack Northway, the New York Thruway and the Mass. Turnpike. The bad road conditions arrived earlier than people expected, I guess. This is one old lady who will not be sticking her nose out the door.
Ruth: Sorry about your knee pain. Our visiting friend was here with knee problem and I have a flexible (not solid frozen) pack I put on and off for her - it helped with her Aleve pill too. She thinks she twisted it.
Jeanne: Good idea - stay inside. I have seen reports of fighting for food at stores - isn't that a shame?
Don wants me to meet him on his walk and go for a coffee. Maybe I will have something very mocha or chocolate ?
Another friend at home called - her back surgery hasn't helped her at all and she says it is terrible pain to get in bed. It is so disappointing to hear that news and tons of people prayed for her surgery to go well. :'( She is alone now and this is just so difficult for her.
Quilting at church yesterday and I had found some great cotton fabric at a thrift store enough to make an entire back plus lots of squares. There are about 4 Canadians there out of a group of ten so we had good conversations & talked about hockey - grandsons playing hockey and so forth. Nice group - they bought places in AZ when the economy was down & they all have lovely homes here too - staying more months than we stay. They are at a larger church but come to help this little under 50 member church - such a nice gesture on their part.
Nope, time to walk down for a coffee.
I went for my exercise early today, as we were using the pool. I love being in the water. Had a good workout, running in the water, not touching the bottom. (We used floater belts.) Believe me, that's a great cardio workout!
After I got home, I started painting. Have all the trim that Lon made for the room we painted, to paint. I got all of it primed, and will go in there and try to get a coat of the paint on today, too. I can't work too long as we are going to the Sons of Thunder Valentine's banquet this evening. Last I heard, they have over 700 reservations! Wow!
I'm also trying to get the information the fellow wants for the book article together. Darrel made some copies for me that I can send him; that will be a big help. Mark is to be here tomorrow to take the photos for us. AND.....drum roll......he has another interview lined up for a pilot job, somewhere in the St. Louis area. His dad called to let me know and ask me to keep praying--of course I will! I KNOW God has a wonderful plan for Mark!
Ruth, the little party was fun! Just about 8 of us gals there, and we ate and laughed and shared--so nice to have friends. And they all loved my outfit--said I looked "Cute!" That's a first! ;)
I must get busy, much to do and little time to do it!
Well, I also have much to do, but the difference is...I have PLENTY of time to do it. The only thing that's missing is my "get up and go!."
I enjoyed lunch with friends today, so will probably have something very small for this evening's meal. Ummmmmm - methinks it's gonna be a bowl of oatmeal with a dollop of greek yogurt.
Y'all have a wonderful rest of the day.
Ruth Ann
Ruth here I am, I have been dealing with the awful pain in my shoulders and neck, It is getting better, however tonight I can feel the tightness in both sides of my neck but my shoulders don't hurt. I have not taken any of the pain or muscle relaxer pills today but I will take a muscle relaxer pretty soon so it will take effect by the time I go to bed.
I have still been going to the gym every day just not doing any of the lat pull downs that would hurt my shoulders. The ladies I work with have been very good helping me and doing all the lifting of the large dogs on the stretchers taking them back to their kennel when they have awakened enough to be removed from my recovery area. I can carry the smaller dogs and the cats in my arms.
I started to watch part of the Olympics but missed my favorite part which is the Ice Skating. then I decided against watching them any longer because to the way the Russians are collecting the stray dogs and killing them.
Wow what a book I have written tonight.
Today I went to the mall to have my nails done , did a few loads of laundry and read my book, still taking it easy and trying not to spend so much time on the computer. My new Years resolution was/is to spend less time on the computer, do more reading of books and work on my crocheting.
Speaking of Crocheting I am making to baby afghans exactly the same for the twins expected by Keith's oldest son and wife in July. Jackson turned 2 in December now he will have two baby brother's to play with. Stephanie's Doctor told her if they were going to have any more children to do it now. She has had a problem with endometrioses (sp) She has had multiple surgeries to correct the problem so this is her last pregnancy.
I am watching the Olympics. Today was the men's short in skating and our Canadian did well. Evgeni Plushenko is out due to injury He has also retired. I love his skating. Tomorrow is the Long program.
Feb 19 10:00 AM Ladies – Short Program
Feb 20 10:00 AM Ladies – Free Skating
Ice Dance Short Dance Date: Sunday, Feb. 16
Ice Dance Free Dance Date: Monday, Feb. 17
It must be warmer out tonight, I am still running on the last wood I put in the fire, Usually by now I have the oil furnace going!
Night all
I am looking forward to the dance competition.
Smokeythe Dog's father in law has passed away. Lets let him know we are praying HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12914.msg183121#msg183121)
Hi everyone. Most of the ice and snow is gone and should completely be gone by the end of the day. We were able to go out last evening for dinner at a local place where there was no ice or snow. I had a very busy morning as we had coffee at McDonald's this morning, then I dropped an Amazon return off at UPS, stopped at Kroger's to pick up a prescription, went to the post office, and back to Kroger's for a few grocery items. Then I went to the Post Office to mail some items, then had my car inspected and went to the tag office. Fortunately, they didn't charge me a penalty for being late as they had been closed for the last two days. On the way home I stopped and had a haircut. I came home but decided to to back to Comcast and return the receiver box that Stacey had. Unfortunately they would close the account until I get a death certificate. I was able to return the equipment. Now I am eating a bite of lunch and then will rest for a couple of hours.
Judy, I never heard of "roving".
Ruth, we were fortunate on the power situation. I am not following the Olympics yet. Maybe watched an hour of skating a couple of days ago.
Jeanne, you sure have been snowy so far and several weeks to go. Glad you can stay in--nice being retired.
Carol, hope your got your mocha or chocolate yesterday.
Janet, I saw you picture with the tea party ladies on Facebook last evening. It looks like everyone was having a good time. Glad Mark has another interview lined up for a pilot job.
Ruth Ann, aren't friends wonderful.
Marilyn, is the pain related to the fibromyalgia? I think the Russians are getting some bad press for a lot of things over there.
ROVING
Roving is in the process of making yarn balls. After the wool is removed from the sheep, it's combed and brushed and during the process huge quantities of wool is produced but it isn't spun yet and twisted which makes the yarn we use for knitting, etc. So, "roving" is unspun fleece.
I found a photo of "roving". Actually here are many photos of "roving". What I've used is usually the natural colour but you can as you can see, even buy dyed batches of roving.
http://tinyurl.com/qer5apy (http://tinyurl.com/qer5apy)
In Canada, roving is used in making slippers and mittens and other items where warmth is needed. As you get to the stitch where you want to insert a small piece of roving, you simply pull off a small amount from the larger hank and knit that stitch together with the roving. It is then anchored in the garment and you have "wool lined mitts"!
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkathrynivy.com%2Fuploads%2Fimages%2Fblog%2Fthrummed_mittens.jpg&hash=0062ff159ba446df8ff12dd8ab5b3f3c83bbbeaf)
The above photo is one of thrummed (the stitch using the roving is called a "thrumb") mittens. All the dots are different colours of roving.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yarnharlot.ca%2Fblog%2Fimages%2Finsidethrum.jpg&hash=884990d3e575ff9bdf8aaec9ec8e5b1eeb0c4d79)
This photo shows the mittens--the one on the left is the right side and the one on the right is the mitten turned inside out showing all of the roving inside the mitten giving the wearer of the mitten lots of warmth! Thrummed mittens are usually considered to be native to the Eastern Provinces of Canada especially Newfoundland and Labrador. But the process is also used in the UK.
I've made many, many pairs of mittens like this over the years and when we went to Heather's for Christmas, I was speaking about "thrummed mittens" and explained and showed both Heather and Judy about this and they got busy and have knit some since then. :)
There! You've had your knitting lesson for today!
All through my life, I've enjoyed Valentine's Day. In our family, Dad always remembered Valentine's Day and Mum always received a nice new plant for her to put on the windowsill or a lovely box of chocolates. He never forgot Judy or me either with some neat little inexpensive gift. (It's not the cost but the thought behind it!) From Mum, Dad was presented with some favorite meal!
So, with this little bit of family history, we as children and then adults, always took the opportunity to do something special for the ones we loved in our family on Valentines Day.
I was reading today's devotional by Joni and thought I'd share it here with all of you:
Love Has to Grow
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
1 Corinthians 13:4, 6-7
Love must grow. It can't stand still, and it certainly cannot go backward. Love must flourish or else it withers and dies. In fact, growth in a relationship is very much like growth in a tree or flower. If a flower doesn't bloom, if a tree doesn't sprout leaves, it signals a problem.
Our love for the Lord Jesus is also a living thing. We are intimately united with Him in His body. Remember, love between you and your Lord, like anything that lives, must grow. Just think, 1 Corinthians 13 is how God feels about you!
Good evening folks. This has been a long day. I had to go for fasting blood tests, and didn't get to the hospital till noon. Very difficult not eating! LOL
Have done groceries and home to have a restful night.
John is back in country and we have been talking. I believe we will be taking a trip to Sault St. Marie the last week of February, to take pictures! Apparently the ice on the rocks is beautiful. I just hope it stays cold till then so everything doesn't melt!!! We are looking in to getting a Dash Cam so John can take pictures as he travels. I really miss my little point and shoot, it is gone, I don't know where it is at this point, however the lens stuck at the half way point of retracting, and it would cost more to "fix" than what the camera was worth.
Folks vote on the challenge pictures, there are some really good ones there!
Have a good restful night in the Lord.
That will be a wonderful opportunity, Judy, for you both to get some photos of the ice. I look forward to seeing the results!
I did have a mocha coffee yesterday to satisfy my chocolate craving. :coffee:
Looking forward to Judy's pictures of ice - since I heard that the earth has been cooling actually for quite a few years, that ice may still be there when you drive to take pictures.
Hi everyone on a sunny but windy and cool day here in Georgia. Our snow is about gone except for some shaded places, like our front walk. I went to coffee at McDonald's this morning and then back to Kroger's to get a few items that Pat needed. A friend from church brought over our dinner for last evening, which we much appreciated. Pat had worked most of the day finished sorting through through things I brought out from Stacey's apartment. The next step is to get things ready for donation. I don't plan to get out again today.
Pat, thanks for the explanation and pictures related to Roving. I had never heard of that before and it was very interesting. I can see why mittens would be very warm. You have nice memories of Valentine's day. Pat had to settle for a nice card yesterday. Very nice writing by Joni and so true.
Judy, a trip with John sounds like a lot of fun. Are you very far from Sault St. Marie?
Carol, glad you got the mocha coffee yesterday.
This is a very uplifting day with the sun out in its full beauty.
Thanks Judy and Pat for the Roving Lesson I guess we are never to old to learn. I had checked 3 dictionaries and only 1 gave a hint of what it was.
We have a cheese factory that is in the area and soon I will headed there to supply my fridge.
Carol: I have used ice packs plus the tube applications of hot and cold and many pills and at the present it seems that only knee replacement is the answer. Last evening I tried a prescription from the Dr. and that did give me a lot of relief.
To one and all have a great day.
Larry, I'm sure that Pat was thrilled with her card you gave her. :)
Ruth, years and years ago (maybe 25 or so as I was here in Guelph), Canadian Living had a very interesting article in it about Thrummed Mittens and all about Newfoundland, etc. and they had a kit you could send for with the yarn, roving and pattern included in it. That's when I first started knitting these mittens.
Carol, that coffee sounds great. I will have to try that. Chocolate in coffee!!!!
I hope you are more comfortable today,
Marilyn, with that horrible pain. I understand completely what you are going through. :)
Hi
Janet!!!It was so nice to see you posting
Don. I think of you often with your Nursery and the problems you had with the hurricane in that area and the terrible damage you encountered.

Thank you Pat. I went to the drug store to pick up more Flexeril and they hadn't heard back from the doctor's office yet. They faxed the request yesterday and i am out of them. Today has been a pretty good day. Did you complete those SSTPSP classes you and Paul were doing some Time ago?
we are having so very severe winds blowing here today, I just read that they may get up to 95 mph. Our power has flickered a couple of times but we are OK at the moment. this house is all electric so if the power goes completely out we will have to keep warm and cook by the fireplace, Keith tells me the wood is still pretty green so he may not be able to get a fire going at all. Boo Hiss Bummer!!!
Well now to get back to my crocheting on the Baby afghans.
We had to drop out of the classes, Marilyn. We only had about three lessons to complete but "life" got in the way. We'll go back sometime and finish!
I'm on 3 flexeril daily right now along with two celebrex.
Good morning! Well, it is morning for me, anyway. I just got up! I have no idea what happened t me, but we went to Dodge City last night with four friends to the dinner theatre. We saw a funny play called Run for Your Wife. By the time we got home I was hurting from top to toes! I don't know what is wrong, but I got up at 8, after a sleepless night' we had been out until midnight. Still hurting, got into the hot tub for a while, showered, dressed, tried to read on my computer but couldn't see, my eyes weer so blurry. Back to bed and was able to sleep until 5 PM! I feel a little better but still struggling to see and aching all over. Wonder if I will sleep tonight?
We had planned to go to church tonight, but that didn't happen! I hope I will feel like going in the morning.
I know....TMI! Sorry.
Awww... Janet, I'm so sorry that you aren't feeling up to par. Hurry and get well! <3

VALENTINE
Verily I say on to you
All those with ears to hear
Love I am pure and true
Embrace me as I draw near
Nothing have you done
That I can not forgive
I am God's only Son
Needing me for you to live
Eternally in my love

Colin: We miss your notes. That is a very nice Valentine message.
Ruth: I know so many friends have gone through the knee replacements - it takes a lot of time to heal but it turns out well.
We spent time walking through the Art Walk in Scottsdale today. Nothing in our lowly price range at all and actually we do not need anything. Stopped by to buy paint for the patio floor as it needs it again - Don likes to use a garage floor paint for patios and they do sweep up quickly & better than concrete. His job - he does use a foam mat to protect his knees a bit. I told him that he doesn't have to do it but he now has the paint so that is a given.
Church in the morning - I sure like the 10 am service here and it will be hard to go home and be there at 7:30 am.
Marilyn: Neighbors just arrived here in AZ from southern Washington - they were tired of the rain.
Well folks Home again for another weekend. Had an interesting trip to Iowa again this week. Going out there was great but on the way home ran into snow and freezing rain along the way. That's when the schedule goes out the window and the load will arrive when it arrives. As I say to my dispatchers, my load is never late. It always arrives when I do. I really enjoy the trips out to Iowa. A lot less stress than running the eastern seaboard. Had a couple of interesting experiences this am though. I was northbound into Northern Quebec to deliver the load I picked up in Iowa when I was met by an oncoming truck passing a snowplow, which caused me to have to take to the shoulder on my side to avoid getting hit by him. Thankfully it was a paved shoulder in that area. Then a few miles later another truck came around a curve at me about 2 feet to left of center in my lane. I sure appreciate God being there to protect me in situations like that. All is well with god at the wheel. I just go along as His copilot. I have often heard the phrase, God is my copilot but I always say I'm the copilot and god is in control of the wheel. I don't think I have had a single trip since Christmas that I haven't encountered winter weather conditions along the way. Come on spring hurry and come soon. really looking forward to the day i can park the truck for the last time and walk away from it. It's not as much fun on the road as it used to be in the old days. I know I won't get any opposition from Judy on that one either. Well that about does it for the moment. Will be back later this weekend Have a Blessed day at church tomorrow folks God Bless
Hi, friends,
I've rested today, since yesterday was completely full and tiring.
I've watched a good bit of Olympics coverage, and likely will watch more throughout the games. It was an exciting game as the USA hockey team won over Russia - shootouts seem to really up my tension level. :)
Y'all have a good rest of the day.
