Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

After all the snow, we now have rain.  Roads are slick, and I am not sure we will be going out, however there are a few things I need!  There is a lot of fog as well.

I am knitting myself a pair of mittens, the yarn was a gift from a good friend.  THey are thummed mittens, here  check out the pattern and what they look like!  It is a new way of knitting for me, I rather enjoy it!  The kits sell for $35, which seems steep, however when looking at the cost of Wool yarn it isn't bad.  My problem is I ran out of the white to complete the mittens.  Thankfully Pat knows where I can get some!

John is home, God bless all of you as you walk through another day!

Hi folks Got home just a little while ago. Been a different kind of week. Left Tuesday and got about a hundred miles down the road and had to pull off and park it as the snow was coming down so hard that I couldn't see 100 ft in front of me. I knew there was a car up front due to getting glimpse of it during small breaks but for most of the time it was out of site due to snow and blowing snow. So I got off the road till it settled a bit. And the cold was so bad I was having a hard time keeping the truck warm while parked at night. We literally do have mountains of snow here. haven't seen it like this in years. Mostly lake effect. The great lakes are not frozen over and the winds pick up the moisture from the water and dump on land as snow. Then I woke up this morning to rain and that turned the snow into Ice. the joys of winter in the frozen tundra. Ocean front property in Arizona is looking pretty appealing. LOL.
Ruth Anne I haven't been your way in a number of years now and don't foresee any way in the near future as we don't go that way much. however you are on my list if I do get that way.
Jeanne Lee I'm sure you have been getting lots of cold there too. We had some trucks stopped out your way this week with all this weather. Stay warm out there. Well going to run for now  Blessings everyone.

:)  Janet:  Did you ever do a story on me as if you did I have missed it?

Hi John and Judy B.  Glad to see you got home safely John way back I can remember some of those storms going up north and going to Ottawa they were very dangerous.  Hope that you are both well. :coffe

Larry, you are vry welcome about me doing the story.  And thank you so much for writing the review on Amazon.  I asked John again and he said the review he read was on Good Reads.

I just got home from my painting meeting, and it was a nice day.  We painted in watercolors, which I haven't done in a long time.  Didn't get to finish because my friiend I share rides with had to be back in Garden for a funeral at 2:00.

Gord, I think I have your story typed up, but have you sent Pat the photos you want used with it?  You need to do that,if you haven't yet.  Then she puts the photos with the story and we get it out so people can read it.

It was really cold this morning, but has warmed up nicely here.

Darrel and I are going dancing again tonight!!  :cheer:  The senior center in Hugoton is hosting a Senior Prom for us seniors.  Really, it is put on by the 4-h kids, and they are so much fun!  They even dance with us, and seem to actually enjoy it!  ;)

Thinking of each of you and your own concerns with health, frozen pipes and so many things.

We are planning to go to church in the morning - after having missed two Sundays in a row in Arizona.  Whew - I have some stronger cough drops and intend to sit at the end of the folding chairs - no pews in this little place.  Can't wait to see everyone.

Did I tell you that the ceiling in our famous bathroom has collapsed twice?  Yep - the first leak was not fixed entirely and now there is a hole the size of a desk under the upstairs bathtub.  Nice.  Monday, Luis will be back to begin the restoration as he wanted to see if there were any leaks over the weekend.  We think we are beginning to see the light here and it will begin with our getting back to our little church here.  I grew up in a huge old house that had a small apartment upstairs as well as my bedroom - all locked up, of course.  My trips to the bathroom had me go downstairs all through the house and an enclosed porch to the family bathroom.  Believe me, there was no getting up in the cold house at night to take that trip.

All my life, I have been gifted with a really good sense of direction and finding my way back easily & this is something inherited from my mother.  Not so today.  I told Don to go to a certain corner and there would be a fabric store.  Nope, all wrong but I did get the correct part of it being on the SW intersection a few blocks north of where I told him to drive and then I had it all wrong as it was a Hobby Lobby instead of the other fabric store.  Yikes, I am slipping.  ---But I did find the Jewish Deli and we went in for a wonderful Chicken Soup with Matzo ball - never had their soup before but it was delicious.  Good for a lingering cough.

My brothers will be thrilled with the Seahawks winning football today.  Finally - in a windy and rainy game - so Seattle!

Oh My I see I haven't been here for at least a week.  Some excitement here today during the lightening and thunderstorm there was a couple of places hit and one fire. I'm sure there will be more about it on the news tomorrow.

Nothing much happening around here this week, I worked the usual 3 days at the Spay and Neuter Clinic. Went to Walmart this mroing for cat food and a few other things.

It was nice to come here and catch up with y'all tonight.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We arose this morning to a beautiful sunny day here in Georgia.  It is going to get up to 57 degrees this afternoon.  We are going to church this morning and then get a quick bite to eat as Pat is going to a movie this afternoon with a couple of friends.  They like going to the children's movies (second childhood!) and are going to see "Frozen", which I guess is a Disney moving.  I will be resting and watching the football games his afternoon and early evening.  Later this evening is the Downton Abbey second episode for the season.  As I expected yesterday it was a nice quiet, unhurried day and by noon the rain had gone and we actually saw the sun a bit in the afternoon.

Marilyn, are lightning and thunder unusual for your area.  We have had a bit of that here the last couple of days--strange to hear during the winter months although it didn't feel like winter yesterday.

Carol, glad that repairs are soon to be underway and that you two are feeling like getting out.  I have no sense of direction down here as nothing is laid out on a grid but just winds around everywhere.  I can't imagine your (or my Pat) not finding a quilting store!  :)

Janet, hope you and Darrel enjoyed the dance last night.

Gord, nice to see you are having some thawing weather up your way.

John, glad you got home safely.  That storm sounds terrible that you experienced.

Judy, the mittens sound nice and warm.  I don't need heavy gloves down here as never out in the cold more than a few minutes but do like to wear something on my hands when it is cold.

Marilyn

Larry Lightening and thunder are  normal for this area from time to time. But yesterday was the worst in the five years I have lived here. In California it was  regularly  loud and scary.
