Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hi Everyone..

I've been peeking in and out while I've been doing other things on the website.  We're trying to make changes which we hope will be good in the long run.

When I got home from work my wife was home.  She had a safe trip.  Thanks for your prayers!

Janet

I have been up since 3:15 AM, so if this is incoherent, I'll blame it on that!   ;)  The reason for the extra early rising was that my sister's usual rising time is 3:00, an I wanted to spend time with her and with the Lord.  She felt that God told her yesterday on the way to Garden City, taking John to his plane, that He will continue to heal Beth "little by little" until she is totally healed; and that she could go home today (meaning Shirley.)  So we are trusting the word of the Lord and will never stop praying for Beth and John until we see their complete deliverance!  When we went to pray with Beth, she was bright and chipper, with a new light of hope and a sparkle in her eyes, and her speech continues to improve.  What a mighty God we serve!

I had to judge today at the fair in Hugoton, and just got home.  Needless to say, after a restless and very short night's sleep, I am really weary.  But I wanted to stop in and say hi......so....."HI!"

It's always great to find good news here.

Janet, prayers continue for Beth's improvement "little by little".

Buddy, good news from you, too, that the Lord brought your wife home, safe and sound.   ;)

Hi everyone on a cloudy morning here in Georgia.  It is suppose to get to 82 degrees today with perhaps some scattered showers in the area this afternoon.  So it should be a pretty nice day.  The main activity today is on Thursday men's luncheon and today we are meeting at the Olive Garden.

Marilyn, thanks for the info on Larry's knee situation.  The next few weeks won't be pleasant for him but if he will do what is prescribed in the way of PT I would expect he will soon be feeling much better.  It sure made a difference in how Pat is getting around.

Hi Pat, hope the website changes go smoothly.  I know that is a lot of work.

Buddy, always good to see loved ones return safely from travel.

Janet, nice you have had your sister with you for several days and to share in your prayer time for Beth and John.  God can perform miracles.  Wonderful that Beth's speech is improving.  She probably had a lot of practice while John was visiting.  :)  Hope you were able to get a good night's sleep last night and can have a little more relaxing day today.

Jeanne, is there a hint of fall in the air up your way.  The last few days have been very pleasant down here.

I love the devotional . God is indeed our shelter.  We are having hot and humid weather at this time.
Hope you all have a great day. :)

Jeanne Lee

The weather here is lovely.  The temperature is a couple of degrees below normal during the day and the nights are delightful.  We're getting nighttime temperatures around 50 - sometimes down even to 48.  Wonderful snuggle temperatures, blowing chilly in the open windows (which I refuse to close until it gets so cold the furnace turns on).  So comfy under the blankets it's hard to decide to get up...  even when I need to!   :)

Carol

This house temperature was down to 60 degrees F when we came home this afternoon.  Crazy temps and lots of thunderstorms.  It is unusually green everywhere we look and ponds/ lakes/rivers are full.  Mud and rock slides always go along with this too.  Love the green look.

We had such a nice visit with one grandson.  He sleeps in and works nights and we tried to leave quietly but a dog greeted us and the phone rang.  Anytime we take the car and start to drive is a good time to say a prayer because there are so many distracted drivers now - drive defensively all the time everyone.

off for a little procedure today and then I talked Don to stopping at Hobby Lobby with my coupon for wide fabric to back a queen sized quilt.  Reading all your posts, thinking of all of you.

Janet

We also have been enjoying lower than normal for this time of year temperatures.  And we have had several lovely rains lately, so everything is nice and green.  We are praising God for this!

Larry, my day wasn't exactly restful.  Curtis asked me to come to Hugoton and keep the three little ones so he and Toni could continue moving stuff out of their house.  The girls were really good, but the two younger ones had been spiking fevers, and the baby never got over hers today, so she felt bad, but wasn't all that fussy.  They both had high fevers about the time Toni came to get them, and she wound up taking both to Urgent Care at Liberal.  She called to tell me that the doctor said they both have Foot, Hand and  Mouth Disease!!  :o  She (or he?) said it has been rampant lately over this several states area, and is caused by a bacteria.  It affects babies and children of young ages who often put their hands into their mouths.  It causes painful blisters in their mouths and throats, so eating is painful for them.  The baby's throat was quite bad.  She was getting prescriptions filled when she called me.  They really didn't need more problems.   :(

Beth was a little better again this morning!  She is speaking out praise to God, and becoming more active in asking for herself what she desires from Him.  Hallelujah!

I did lots of laundry for Diane today and also made supper for the whole bunch of Crawfords before coming back home.  I'm heading to bed very soon!

Melody!  Good to see a post from you  today!  :)

Sounds as if the IRS is intending to target Christians next.  Sigh............  My heart aches for both Israel and for our beloved America.  How we must pray and hold fast to God in these uncertain days.

Love you all, see you tomorrow.  I hope and plan to stay HOME tomorrow!

Hi Melody!   :sidedance:

How nice to  see you in here today!  I think you're on the east coast of Canada, right?

Our weather hasn't been very hot for the past couple of weeks.  It's been humid but rainy and my tomatoes aren't ripening!!!  :ticked: :ticked: :ticked:

Janet, it's always so good to read any newsy bits about Beth!  I'm praying for her and you!

That's just awful to read about the children having that disease.  I haven't heard about it for years and years.  Isn't it also awful to hear of Ebola in Africa?  We must pray for the two missionaries that have it.  I think that they are involved with Samaritan's Purse.

Just heard that the two missionaries will be in a hospital (Emory?) in Atlanta, GA  Oh, how we must pray for them.  The medivac plane has just started out from the USA on its first leg of its journey to get them out of Liberia and back to the USA

Well, I've been really busy today with running around getting little things for Rebecca and Andrew to take to Ireland tomorrow.  It's all so very exciting for Rebecca.  Two weeks isn't long enough but I'm sure that they will still have a wonderful time.  Apparently instead of having a direct flight, they fly to Amsterdam and are there for 2 1/2 hours and then they fly over to Dublin where my nephew will be waiting to pick them up.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I've had another really busy week. So busy in fact, that I finally had a quiet day yesterday which was really needed - I slept all night, then almost all day, then all night, and awakened this morning feeling much better.

I was concerned about doing something to help someone get to the Farmer's Market today (would have involved lots of standing and pushing her in a wheelchair), and the Lord made a way for her daughter and gdaughter to come from Alabama to help her. Oh, how thankful I am that they were here to observe the deterioration I've been concerned about!

Y'all have a good rest of the day with our Lord.

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  It is another one of those drab mornings but isn't hot this morning.  We ended up getting only a light shower yesterday afternoon and the forecast is the same for this afternoon and evening.  My main activity today is our church men's ROMEO luncheon at Steak and Shake.  I enjoyed the men's luncheon yesterday at Olive Garden.  The food was good but while we had a pleasant waitress the service was very slow.  Pat did talk to our DIL yesterday and she sounded pretty good.  Still not gaining weight but sort of staying at the present level.

Carol, is the drought cycle broken for your area?  If I remember correctly you all were extremely dry for quite awhile.  You are right about the distracted drivers.

Janet, so sad so those precious little ones.  Nice of you to go help out with the little ones but know that was anything but restful.

Pat, having the ebola cases here in Atlanta is a bit disturbing but sure they will do everything to isolate them and protect the population.
Ruth Ann, isn't it a blessing how things work out such as getting your friend to the market.

Janet

Yawn!.....I'd rather be  :sleepy: and will probably take a nap this afternoon.  I forgot to take my pills yesterday morning before I left, and thus woke every hour until 1 AM, then never got back to sleep.  So I am tired today.

Good to read the posts today.  Pat, how nice that your Rebecca is getting to visit Ireland!  That's on my "bucket list" along with wales and the other British Isles.

Larry, I surely hope your son's wife starts to gain a little weight.  I know that is so concerning for him.

Another lovely day here in our corner of Kansas!

Yep!  I was up late trying to fix an error I made two nights ago on Photography Cafe but I still woke up at the same time today, Janet.

Yes, it's so nice for Rebecca to be going to Northern Ireland today.  I'm so happy for her.  I had thought that I would get there at least one more time in this life but alas, I think that's not going to happen for me.  :(

Don't give up hope Pat I want to go as well...We could do it together!

Another trailer load of wood brought in, and another to come today.  It is getting easier for both of us, I guess we are getting in shape!

We take Zeke and when we are going to or from the bush he gets in "the zone" and just jogs along.. I have to take my camera and get a picture of him. it is quite a site!  Just a little cautious about taking it into the bush!  On Saturday Melaura and Tyler and a friend came to help us,  She attached Zeke's leash to her mirror and he pulled her all the way home .....he was pulling the car, good exercise for a working dog!  She had to keep breaking to slow him down!

Carol

There is nothing like the sound of our Air Force jets when they take the  path right over our  house.  Wake up everyone!  We have a lot of military in our area and I for one, love planes - any planes.  Don flew planes until his parents tragic day.  Then, he could not concentrate so he took himself out of the program.

Praise for Beth's condition improving each and every day.  This is spectacular.

Larry:  Still severe drought in SE Colorado - sad for the farmers.  Otherwise, the lakes in the mountains must be at normal levels with all this flooding.  It has been nice to be cool.

We took one son out for his birthday dinner and he ordered a loaded hamburger on a doughnut with an egg.  He loves the different tastes and we just stared at the plate - not for our tastebuds.

The prayer list is always long and the two missionaries who have Ebola are in my thoughts.

Judy B:  What kind of a dog?  What kind of car?  We had a Husky/Elkhound  who followed the children home and stayed.  He would take off so we had to use a calf chain and I watched as he used his power to break the cow chain.  So, he was mostly free after that.  Strong dog and so sweet with everyone.  He pulled kids on a long sled and on the lake they would skate behind him.  What a sight to behold.

Pat:  Ireland sounds like a good dream.  You never know!

Janet:  I don't know anything about that disease in children.  May they recover fast!

JudyB

Carol he is a rottie, Zeke and such a sweet nurtured dog.  He will chew anything, wood steel, The only way to stop that is to keep him active.  Going out to the bush he is active.  He picks up huge logs and moves them often catching them when we throw them out of John's way for cutting.  We are going to get a sled and get him putting the ones he lifts on the sled.  he has unbelievable strength, however when I walk him, he stays right by my side.  I will have pictures tomorrow.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone on another unbelievably cool morning for Georgia this time of the year.  It has been a busy morning as after coffee went to Krogers for some items we needed and some we probably didn't need.  Pat and I are working out on the screened in porch to go through the boxes we had brought in from our shed to determine what to discard, what to donate and what few item to keep.  I can only work about 30 minutes and then begin to feel ill so know it is time to sit down and rest for awhile, which is what I am doing.  We don't have a lot to sort through and it doesn't all have to be done this morning as there are still a couple of days before the housekeepers get here and they will take the donations for us and I want to take some of my computer related stuff to the Nigerian family.  One of the boys is looking for some cables so will send several and what they don't want they can trash as that is what I am going to do so that I don't have more than one plastic tube with that type of equipment and cables, etc.  That will be enough for us today.

Janet, sure hope you took your pills and were able to sleep last night.  It also sounds like the midwest is having some great weather for this time of year.

Judy, I hope both you and Pat will make it to Ireland but health often dictates where is feasible or prudent to do.  It sounds like you and John are building up your muscles from dealing with the wood.

Carol, we sometimes hear the jets or helicopters flying into our local airport, which is about 6 miles from us.  Fortunately it isn't an everyday occurrence. I would hate to ruin a donut by having an egg with it.  UGH!

Today was the first day in 5 months that I woke up PAIN FREE, Oh that feels so good to be free of that awful back pain. So the Cortisone shot did the job it was supposed to do. The muscle that was in a spasm for so many months was just over my left hip about half way to my spine. I was in so much pain every morning that I was thinking about calling the Laser back surgery place to see if they took my insurance. I feel so blessed to be pain free. I am so happy that the Lord gave the Dr.  the inspiration  in solving my pain problem.  It seem like the idea just flew into her head as we talked, she was telling me about pills or physical therapy and all of a sudden she said "I'll give you a steroid shot likeI did for the Trochanteric muscle spasm" I said yes that will work.
