Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Just peeking in the door at almost the "last minute" tonight. Life has certainly been busy!!

So, I've elected not to go to a twice a month gathering tomorrow morning. I need to "catch up 'n' catch my breath..." :)

Then, tomorrow's to be full with calling a granddaughter to wish her happy birthday, making a required meeting here at the apartments, and arriving at a doctor's office with only 45 minutes between meeting and appointment.

Maybe our Lord will help the doctor solve a pesky problem so I can make my way to the granddaughter's birthday party this weekend. :)

Y'all have a great rest and a wonderful day tomorrow.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

Jeanne, I just love all those happy smiles in the family picture!

Hello, Ruth Ann.  You do stay busy, don't you?  Wishing you a good day today.

Ruth, sorry you lost your post, I always look forward to them.

We had a spectacular rainstorm last night!  WOW!  I have no idea how much we got, but it was raining in sheets for a while.  Very welcome, too.l   :)  I heard a storm was coming, so hurried home from Hugoton, and did get home and get the car into the garage before it hit.

I ate in a Chinese place the other day, with my sister and friend, and must have gotten a huge overload of MSG.  It really did a number on me!  I was sick all night, all the next day, and still yesterday I felt completely washed out and had brain fog really badly.  Thankfully, it passed before I had to begin judging at the fair, but it really left me drained.  I will surely avoid eating that stuff in the future!

When I went to check on Beth yesterday, the home had brought in an almost new chair for her; however, it is a small lady's chair, and the back is too low, and her feet hang way over the footrest.  So now we must decide what the next step should be....... :-\  Most families just donate the recliners after their loved ones pass away, so they always have several on hand.  Darrel said he guesses he will have to go look at Beth's chair to see what they did to it this time.  Frustrating!   :ticked:

Gotta go!

Had a wonderful day yesterday with my grand daughter.  We had (exaggeration) a million and one things to do.  At a dental appointment I had my BP taken and it was through the roof.  In an internal panic I went to my Dr. and had it rechecked. They recognized my panic, and told me to sit down and relax.  I had a book with me, The Broker by John Grisham, so I sat and read.  When the readings were taken, I was normal, a little on the high side of normal but normal all the same.  Whewww.

Kim bought a lot of her school supplies, still has more to get, but very proud of herself that she has done as much as she has with earned money.  Great lessons here. She is such a beautiful gentle child!

Liz

Still sunny here on the island, although a few days of rain are scheduled.  We really need it after a whole month without.....

Thanks for the comments on my picture.  I take terrible photos and Amanda had a real challenge.  Gave her my little camera and was sort of about to laugh when she snapped this.  Probably found my little Canon a challenge anyway as she is doing a lot of wedding photos, etc. and has some sort of super awesome camera of her own.

Carol, I am so sorry that Don is still suffering from a hearing problem....Canada was not kind to you folks!  I lost most of my hearing in one ear years ago, due to the noisy computer rooms, before we finally advanced to better technology.  Now the other ear doesn't work very well either, so have to use earphones for TV, etc.  Can't afford the costly hearing aids.....so try to avoid gatherings with lots of people and noise.  Of course, sometimes there are advantages to not hearing so good   That can also help with memory lapses....'Gosh, guess I must have missed that'!

I have a question for our computer guy, Larry.  Received an email from AVG offering a free scan of my drivers.  Checked and they are approved by Microsoft.  Ran the scan and it said that I need to update 6 of the drivers.  My computer keeps going off wireless every little while and I have to either have HP Support Assistance put it back on or go and reboot the router up in SIL's office.  Would updating my drivers improve this or is it risky to mess with the drivers?  Of course there is a years fee for the program and they go into cloud to check on all available drivers for the computer.  State totally up to date!  ?????

For others with aches and pains, I have found something that helps relieve some of the discomfort....simply on a temp. basis.  Traumeel ointment.  No smell and works fast.  I never can stand the smell of those rubs
and this is a Homeopathic remedy, so that is a bonus.  Available in Health Stores and some drugstores that carry Homeopathic products.

Note for the day:

The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but your really do care that your don't care to do them anymore. ::)
God Bless,
Liz

:coffee: We had quite the thunderstorm through the night today it is now breezy and sunny.

I was going to change my picture,  it was not working will try later when I have more time and will follow my saved notes.  It is the start of a new month thus I printed the previous bank statement so now to balance it with the check book.

Janet:  I trust that Darrel will get Beth's chair working again.

Jeanne:  With the gathering of sisters did they kick you out of the restaurant for being to noisy.

I just found out yesterday that a cousin has passed away it is a visitation this evening with a private family service tomorrow.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Ruth, they seemed pretty accepting of our chattering.  It wasn't all sisters - I don't have any.  The gathering was all first cousins.  Four of them are sisters, the four in the center, and two of us are only children, one on each end.  I said we were the bookends.

I know!  I know!  I know we have a photo section for Get Togethers with other members of CP but I thought that this photo was so special I wanted to put it right here in "Thoughts"!

Ruth, this is a great photo!

We had a wonderful shopping trip to Mary Maxim Wool Shop and then we went down to Tim Horton's for a coffee and a donut!

Hi everyone.  I will be fairly brief this evening as nothing unusual today.  I had my treatment and that pretty well fills up the day.  When I finished the treatment and sat us my blood pressure as 88/44 but she retook it in a few minutes and it had gone up to 96/50.  I always have low blood pressure so not worried.  I have been very tired the last couple of days.  I did get a printer setup and working for Pat in her office.  Been pretty tired the last couple of days.

Liz, I don't know what to tell you on the drivers.  However, I did a Google search on "How to update drivers in Windows 7" and found this Microsoft article that might be helpful to you.  If you still have XP just do a search for XP rather than Windows 7 and I am sure you will find some information.

Ruth, that was a very nice photo.

Pat

I've opened a new Board in the photos area entitled, "Meeting Friends~Old and New" where we can post photos when we get together with other members of CP.

I posted Ruth Gray's and my trip to Mary Maxim HERE

Let's sing, "Amazing Grace"!!!

AMAZING GRACE
(Click title to hear music)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We?ve no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

Beautiful, Pat.  I always think of Amazing Grace as being played on bagpipes, but the panflute certainly is just as beautiful.

Yes, Jeanne.  I agree.   Judy first sent me the link to this Panpipes version and I've played it often since.

Love the panflute music.

Liz   Oh, my gosh.  I never intended to dismiss any people in Canada by mentioning where Don lost his hearing.  We had wonderful chat with one of your fine doctors the next day - he was extremely caring and even called a colleague who had lost his hearing at a rock concert in Seattle.  It happens.  It has certainly changed our lives and especially our retirement but thank the Lord we had years of decent hearing previously.    Canada - our grandson is trying out for a junior hockey team next weekend and if he makes it - he will live there in eastern British Columbia for two years and take classes online.  This is what he wants.  We shall see if this is meant to be.  Let me know if you read this note - thanks.  We had a lovely time and I do miss the Pacific Northwest.

Pat:  I have tasted Tim Horton coffee and it is really good.  Wish they would come into more states here.  Nice of you to visit and that wool shop looks like it is right up your alley.

I have been in a neighborhood book club and it is OK - sometimes.  Now, a few of the gals at bible study want to start a book club or maybe they already have and invited me - hooray.  I know the books will be more along with what I want to read and it will be a lunch gathering with everyone bringing a salad so that takes care of everything.  The hostess doesn't have to do the entire meal.  Looking forward to that in September.

Yesterday on my walk, I stood and chatted with a beautiful doe feeding on greens.  A large clump of sunflowers in front of her would have framed a wonderful picture but I don't carry my camera on my morning 3 mile walk.  Too bad.  She looked so peaceful - a wonderful creature living in the suburbs.

Pat

Keep us posted, Carol on your grandson's progress with playing hockey in BC.  How exciting for him!

My post up and left...!

Just stopping in to tell Carol that of course I didn't think they blamed Canada.  Simply felt sorry that this had happened to Don as we share a hearing problem.  Hope your grandson does well with his hockey.

The pictures are lovely and it is nice to see what folks look like.....all happy faces.  After that one picture, my gluten-free diet seems even worse!  Thanks for the music....that always makes the day better.

Larry, to many conflicting things about driver updates.  Have decided to leave alone!

We are having a cool, shower day on the island.  My cat Misty, has decided to spend it sleeping.  Think she is confused by the lack of sunlight after such a long period.  We need the rain, so it is a blessing.

Little saying:  Today is the oldest you've ever been, yet the youngest you'll ever be so....enjoy this day while it lasts.

God Bless,

Liz

Hi everyone.  I have now completed 11 of my 35 EECP treatments and today things were right on time and I finally  have the route figured out so it is an easy drive.  It has only taken me 11 tries. :) That was it for today.  I have felt very tired the last couple of days so hope tomorrow will be better.

Pat, I liked the list of "10 Ways to Love".

Carol, Pat participates in a women's book club at our church and enjoys it.  Glad she is able to look forward to it again.  They didn't meet in July.  Every month with a fifth week they go out to eat in the early evening.

Liz, if your computer is working OK I see no reason to update the drivers.  I seldom do it.

:)Hi to all.  Just thought that I would remind you all that Noreen and I will be gone for two weeks to a cottage and I am praying that Noreen will be able to have a good time.  May you all have what is left of this summer that is left and may the Lord richly bless you too.  God's richest blessings.  Gordon and Noreen. :cp: :rocker: :bananadance: :pine:

We all want revival...

BUT...

We live in a world that is sick with sin!
The world is selfish and sensual!
The world is starving for love and the light of the Gospel!
The world is in sad shape today!

So...

If all the sleeping folk will wake up,
If all the lukewarm folk will fire up,
If all the dishonest folk will confess up,
If all the disgruntled folk will cheer up,
If all the depressed folk will cheer up,
If all the estranged folk will make up,
If all the gossipers will shut up,
If all true soldiers will stand up,
If all the dry bones will shake up,
If all the church members will pray up...

Then we can have a revival!

Hi everyone.  This has been a bit of a strange day.  Pat and I were going to have a brief visit with our friend who is now in Hospice care.  We called yesterday to be sure he was up to a visit and again this morning.  They now live about 40 miles from us. She said come on up so we started out and go about half way when my phone rang and it was Mary to say Bob had started vomiting and he wouldn't enjoy a visit nor would we enjoy being there.  I thanked her for letting me know and we turned around and decided to go to Kohl's.  I need some new shirts and was feeling up to the brief shopping effort.  I did find a number of shirts to purchase.  We then went out to eat and that was a full morning.  Now we are both taking it easy for the rest of the day.  If we get hungry we will just fend for ourselves and Pat won't face having to get a meal on the table.

Gord, thanks for reminding us you are going to be gone for a couple of weeks.

Pat, thanks for sharing that writing.  It contains a world of wisdom.

Pat

That's so sad, Larry, about your friend.

I'm trying to do some much needed sorting, etc. and I have a timer and I set it for 15 minutes and work quickly for that long and then sit and knit for awhile!
